William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest sixty minutes on television, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host William Regal. Alongside me is the beautiful and talented Renee Young. Renee, we have quite an episode scheduled today, especially coming out of last week."
Renee Young: "Right you are, William! After what appeared to be highway robbery, 'The Kingdom's' Michael Bennett and Matt Taven are the new NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions. With Adam Cole possessing the Heavyweight Championship, and with CEO Jordan Richards at the helm, not to mention "The Beast" Brock Lesnar providing the muscle, can this group be stopped?"
Regal: "Richards and company seem to be in the driver's seat for certain. It will take a monumental effort to unseat them. Hopefully, Commissioner Scott Hall and Deputy Commissioner Jake "The Snake" Roberts are able to provide some level of balance to the power structure here. Fans, we have a jam packed hour, so let's get on with it!"
Match One ~ "Lethal Consequences"--Jay Lethal & Xavier Woods with Truth Martini vs. "The Addiction"--Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian
This match was a war of attrition, while it lasted. Both teams got some offense in the opening minutes. Just as the action settled in, "War Machine" (Hansen & "Godzilla" Jax Dane) hit the ring and laid to waste both teams, nailing "Fallout" on Woods & Daniels.
Winners = No Contest in 4:11
After clearing the ring, Hansen took a microphone.
Hansen: "We didn't come out here because we have beef with these two teams. We came out here to make a statement. We have been leaving a trail of bodies left and right since Show Time began. We deserve to move to the front of the line. Everyone else is getting a title shot around here. What about 'War Machine?!' It's our time!"
Just then, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva hit to bring out Jordan Richards, Stacy Keibler, Brock Lesnar, and "The Kingdom."
Jordan Richards: "See, this is what I like--guys who come out here and take the bull by the horns! I'll tell you what, Hansen. You and Jax Dane be here next week with your gear and I promise you will get what's coming to you. Michael Bennett and Matt Taven are more than happy to defend the tag team championship against you two!"
Bennett and Taven expressed their concern, but Richards appeared to have reassured them.
"Stacy, make sure to prepare a contract for 'War Machine' to sign in the back. Boys, we'll see you next week."
Regal: "Well, it looks like we have ourselves a tag team championship match next Tuesday. That should be a dandy!"
Young: "Let's see if the new champs can handle the brutality of Hansen and Jax Dane."
Regal: "Speaking of brutality, last week we saw a war of mythic proportions between 'Priest of Punishment' Mikael Judas and 'Ticking Time Bomb' Jason Justice. Both men were rushed to an area medical center and treated for internal injuries. Since their releases, neither have been seen. The ownership and management of NWA: Show Time has expressed concern for the health and wellbeing of each superstar if this feud is allowed to continue. That said, we've just been given word that a final battle has been signed between the two that will take place at the next Clash of the Champions, on September 5 in St. Louis, Missouri. They will compete in a 'Last Man Standing Steel Cage' match."
Young: "I said last week that one man may kill the other before this feud is over. We may see that on September 5th. This will be an epic war. William, fans don't want to miss Clash of the Champions, live on the same station you are currently watching Power Hour on, TBS."
Regal: "Indeed. Back to the ring for our next contest."
Match Two ~ NWA World Historic Middleweight Championship ~ La Sombra vs. Testuya Naito (2-out-of-3 falls)
This match was a real coup for NWA: Show Time. Since La Sombra is under contract, he has been allowed by the NWA Board of Governors (Jordan Richards is Chairman) to defend the championship inside our promotion periodically. Though Naito is closer to the junior heavyweight range, he was allowed to challenge for the title. As is customary with this particular championship, every defense occurs in a two-out-of-three falls format.
Fall one was dominated by Naito. He came out strong, which makes sense, as he was the larger of the two athletes. Every time La Sombra made a comeback, he was cut off by the ultra-aggressive Naito. Once he hit the "Stardust Press," the pin was academic.
Winner of the 1st fall = Tetsuya Naito by pinfall in 8:22
Tetsuya Naito = 1
La Sombra = 0
The champion came back quickly, as his back was against the wall. He knew he needed two straight falls to retain the crown, so he fought like a man possessed. Naito still controlled the pace, but La Sombra was more tactical and showed a killer instinct. Naito did manage to gain an advantage and it looked for a moment as if he would make quick work of the lucha star, but La Sombra hit a "Brilliante Driver" out of nowhere for the pin.
Winner of the 2nd fall = La Sombra by pinfall in 11:43
La Sombra = 1
Tetsuya Naito = 1
The third fall was split down the middle. Both men hit amazing offense in an all-out effort for the belt. La Sombra hit a "Split-Legged Corkscrew Senton" for a near fall that left the crowd aghast. Naito landed "Destino," but La Sombra got a shoulder up at the last possible moment. The end came, not without controversy. Naito scaled the ropes for a "Stardust Press" that would most likely have given him the championship. "Meiyu Tag" came to the ring and Hirooki Goto distracted the referee long enough for Katsuyori Shibata to knock Naito off the top rope, which "Clotheslined' Tetsuya on the top rope. La Sombra was none the wiser, having been prone on the mat at the time. He roused himself in obvious confusion over how Naito had become prone. He quickly recovered, understanding he had a championship to keep, and caught Naito with a second "Brilliante Driver" to retain the title.
Winner of the 3rd fall = La Sombra by pinfall in 7:10
La Sombra = 2
Tetsuya Naito = 1
Winner and still NWA World Historic Middleweight Champion = La Sombra in a total match time of 27:15
Naito was furious and stomped back to the locker room area. Chanel caught up with him for a quick interview.
Chanel: "Tetsuya, it looked like you were on the way to becoming the new NWA Historic Middleweight Champion, until 'Meiyu Tag' made their presence felt. What do you have to say?"
Naito: "'Meiyu Tag' must pay!" (Naito then stormed off)
Chanel: "Clearly, Tetsuya Naito is upset, and with good reason. Back to you, William and Renee."
Regal: "Naito's struggle with 'Meiyu Tag' has become deeply personal."
Young: "It's been tit-for-tat the last few weeks. I'm interested to see who strikes the next blow."
Regal: "Our correspondent Laura Cruz has been busy this week campusing our great promotion for the latest news. Let's see what she has found.
The show cut to a pre-taped segment.
Laura Cruz: "I'm your resident 'Locker Room Lovely' Laura Cruz, here with the latest news and rumors. I was at the NWA: Show Time headquarters in Charlotte, NC earlier this week. All the buzz is surrounding the upcoming 'Queens of the Ring' tournament that will take place on August 28th and 29th at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers. 32 of the finest ladies teams in the world will compete for $100,000.00 and the platinum 'Queens of the Ring' trophy, which is a design replica of the Jim Crockett, Sr., Memorial Cup. As has just been announced, three teams have come out of semi-retirement to take part in this historic two-night tournament: 'Team Bestie,' of Trish Stratus and Amy Dumas, are stepping away from the Show Time Developmental Dojo, where they are trainers, to enter. Also signed are legendary teams 'Jumping Bomb Angels' (Itsuki Yamazaki & Noriyo Tateno), and 'Crush Gals' (Chigusa Nagayo & Lioness Asuka), and "LayCool" (Michelle McCool & Layla El). That's how prestigious this event is. Tickets are on sale now at nwasshowtime.com or at all Ticketmaster outlets. In other news, it looks like Brock Lesnar and Kevin Steen will be going one-on-one very soon. Several live event touring dates have been signed between the two and will begin as early as tomorrow (August 19). These will certainly be explosive matches, so check nwashowtime.com for the 'Show Time on Tour' date, card listing, and city nearest you! I'm Laura Cruz and that's the scoop!"
Regal: "Thank you, Laura! Let's go to Chanel, who is standing by with 'Killer Elite Squad.'"
Chanel: "I'm here with the former NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions, 'Killer Elite Squad.' Guys, we all saw what happened last week when you defended your newly won titles against 'The Kingdom.' Can you tell me what you are thinking a week removed from losing the championship?"
Davey Boy Smith, Jr.: "Losing? Losing?! Chanel, we did not lose those belts. They were stolen from us! We won them fair and square on Saturday and they were hijacked from us on Tuesday! So, you wanna know what we're thinking? We're thinking we want our property back!"
Lance Hoyt: "'The Kingdom' made a huge mistake when they messed with us. If they think we're just gonna walk away with our tails between our legs, they have another thing coming! We WILL win OUR belts back. I can guarantee you that. Bennett and Taven, here is a little word of warning. When we do get our hands on you, it won't be pretty."
Smith: "We're gonna beat you up and leave you for dead! Those titles are coming home!"
Regal: "Strong words from a strong team."
Young: "You said it, William! 'The Kingdom' is making itself quite a number of enemies."
Regal: "Yes they are, sunshine. Let's head to the ring for our main event!"
Match Three ~ Brock Lesnar & NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole with Jordan Richards & Maria Kanellis vs. Kevin Steen & Claudio Castagnoli
This match was signed by Commissioner Scott Hall and he added the stipulation that it be contested under "Texas Tornado" rules. A tornado is exactly what it turned out to be. All four men went at each other with ferocity. Cole used Lesnar as a shield whenever possible, and "The Beast" obliged. He is a hired gun and it showed in this contest. Castagnoli and Steen worked well together, using some tandem style offense to counter the freakish strength and athleticism of Lesnar. At one point, Castagnoli landed a "European Uppercut" to Cole that sent him careening into the corner. Steen immediately followed up with a "Cannonball" for a near fall. Lesnar made the save at two. Cole dropped Steen with the "Florida Key," but Castagnoli stomped his face to break up that pin attempt. The action was frantic throughout. The finishing sequence was a sight to behold. Claudio climbed to the top rope and launched himself at Lesnar. Brock, in a Herculean feat of power, caught the diving Castagnoli in mid-air, slid him to his shoulders, and delivered a bone-smashing "F-5" almost in one motion. Cole held Steen's legs as he attempted to stop the count.
Winners = Brock Lesnar & Adam Cole by pinfall in 12:57
Regal: "Whoa! What a finish! Brock Lesnar never ceases to amaze!"
Young: "Whether you like the man or not, you have to admire his ability. He is second to none in that ring."
Regal: "Renee, Brock Lesnar might be unbeatable. Well fans, we are out of time for today! Don't forget, Show Time Femme Fatales will air on TNT Thursday night! Please tune in next week for more of the Show Time Power Hour! For Renee Young, this is William Regal, saying, ta ta for now!"
