William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal, along with the belle of the ball, and my co-host, Renee Young!"
Renee Young: "I'm seriously blushing right now! William, I am excited beyond words for the show we have lined up for our fans. Two NWA World Championships will be defended here today!"
Regal: "That's right. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Kevin Owens will defend his crown against one of our newest draftees, Claudio Castagnoli! NWA World Women's Champion Kana will put her title on the line against NWA: Show Time Women's Champion Manami Toyota! Those should be instant classics and both will take place this hour! So, without further adieu..."
"The Kingdom's" music interrupted and ushered out the entire faction to a chorus of boos.
Adam Cole: "Well, well, well. Your king and his royal court have arrived. I was given last week off after a well-deserved championship victory. Now, I am back to celebrate my coronation as the number one man in NWA: Show Time. When I got here, I heard through the grapevine that the NWA World Champion Kevin Owens was going to defend the title tonight. 'The Kingdom' smiled, because we just knew that I would be adding another piece of gold to my trophy case. I mean, why wouldn't this promotion's top champion receive a shot at the illustrious 'ten pounds of gold?' Then I heard that the match is going to someone whose been here, what? Five minutes? Claudio Castagnoli? C'mon! Jordan Richards is not only the owner of this company, but he is the Chairman of the NWA Board of Governors. Why would he pass me over in favor of this clown?"
"Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva hit to bring out NWA: Show Time CEO "The Show" Jordan Richards to a raucous ovation.
Jordan Richards: "So, Adam Cole. You think that because you have some new hardware and you run with three other people, that makes you a king? After you won 'Survivor Scramble,' I heard you guys shout, 'Thy kingdom come.' Well, there's only one Kingdom that I bow to, and you're not its king. His initials are 'JC,' and you don't quite measure up. Now, I have an awful lot of respect for you. That's why I agreed to put your entire group under contract. But, don't go overstepping your bounds by calling out Jordan Richards. I may be retired as a wrestler, but I have forgotten more about this business than you may ever learn, son. For your information, Claudio Castagnoli was already in line for a World Championship opportunity before his former promotion closed down. The NWA Board of Governors is honoring that contract here today. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt that you are not getting the shot. It wouldn't have worked out anyway. I already have you booked in a match against another new draftee, and Renee Young's favorite wrestler, Dean Ambrose!"
Cole and company hit the roof!
Cole: "What?! I wasn't told about a match tonight! Who do you think you are?!"
Richards: "I'm the boss, pal. I suggest you take some of that bass out of your voice before you find out why they call me, 'The Show.' By the way, you might want to get all of your buddies out of the ring, because that match will begin as soon as Ambrose gets out here!"
Regal: "Quite a confrontation there, Renee."
Young: "Yes it was! Now I'm wondering if Richards and Cole were ever in cahoots after all."
Match One ~ (Non-title) NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole vs. Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose's music hit to a roar (Renee Young was heard to exclaim, "This makes me happy."). He stormed through the crowd and hit the ring, immediately "Clotheslining" Cole out of his boots. The referee rang the bell and the match was on. Ambrose, in typical fashion broke this one down to a brawl. Cole obliged, but was out of his element. Ambrose pretty much rang Cole up from pillar to post. His "Kingdom" mates shouted encouragement, to no avail.
The tide turned, however, when Maria Kanellis distracted the referee long enough for Bennett and Taven to take Dean down with a sneak attack. Cole quickly recovered and went to work. He began to dissect Ambrose's right knee, setting him up for the "Figure-four." Ambrose managed to reverse it, but the damage was done. Dean was hobbled for the remainder of the contest. He was able to make his comeback, springing through the ropes to hit another fierce "Clothesline." Ambrose eventually nailed "Dirty Deeds" for the apparent victory. When he made the cover, however, Bennett and Taven hit the ring to cause the disqualification.
Winner = Dean Ambrose by disqualification in 8:32
"The Kingdom" continued to lay the boots to Ambrose. Eventually, Shelton Benjamin and Claudio Castagnoli made the save. They assisted Ambrose to his feet and he grabbed a microphone.
Dean Ambrose: "Hey, punks! You think you're all powerful because you always outnumber your opponents! Well, it looks like I might have a few friends myself. What's say we have ourselves a little six-man next week? You guys ask Maria for you testicles and meet me, Shelton, and Claudio right back here!"
Cole: "You know what? No!" We have bigger fish to fry!"
The original "nWo" theme music hit as Commissioner Scott Hall and Deputy Commissioner Jake "The Snake" Roberts made their way to ringside.
Scott Hall: "Hey, yo! I don't normally book matches based on the suggestion of wrestlers, but I might want to see this six-man tag. Jake, what do you think?"
Jake Roberts: "I think I like Dean Ambrose's style. Let's do it!"
Hall: "Looks like you've been overruled, champ! Bring your gear next week, you're booked!"
Regal: "What a turn of events! It looks like we have a main event for next Tuesday!"
Young: "I am especially psyched about that one! I get to see Dean Ambrose two weeks in a row!"
Regal: "Haha. Indeed you do, Sunshine! Fans, we want to remind you of the NWA's next pay-per-view offering this Sunday, July 26th. Summer Sizzle "Beach Bash" looks to be off the charts good, and I know that NWA: Show Time will be well represented. I can confirm that Adam Cole will be wrestling Shelton Benjamin in a 'Title vs. Title' match, where both the NWA: Show Time Heavyweight and Television Championships are on the line. The Television Title is up for grabs for the first fifteen minutes and the Heavyweight Title is in play the entire contest. That should be a dandy!"
Young: "I can't wait to see that one! I also can't wait for our first NWA World Championship match, which is coming up right now!"
Match Two ~ NWA World Women's Championship ~ Kana vs. NWA: Show Time Women's Champion Manami Toyota
Toyota looked like she was twenty-five again with the first true World Championship opportunity of her career. She really took the fight to Kana, who has been a dominant champion since winning the title in April. Manami pulled out all of the tricks in her bag--the top rope dive to the outside, the "Springboard Dropkick," the "Manami Roll," the "Reverse Bridging STF," the "Missile Dropkick" to Kana's front and rear--in an effort to wrest the championship from Kana's clutches.
Toyota escaped the "Kana Lock," managing to wrap her legs into the ropes, causing both women to tumble to the outside. After getting back into the ring, Kana caught Toyota in her "Kanagon," but Manami valiantly fought her way to the ropes for a break. As Toyota mounted a comeback, she scaled the ropes for another "Missile Dropkick" attempt. Kana sidestepped and "guided" referee Nikkon Lee into Toyota's path. Referee Carly Rae sped to the ring, just as Kana attempted a "Spinning Back Fist." Toyota caught the fist, trapped both arms, and executed her patented "Japanese Ocean Bomb" for the pin. When Rae's hand struck the mat for a third time, Charlotte, NC, erupted with applause. Toyota immediately leapt to her feet in jubilation. She grabbed the World Women's Championship belt and paraded it around ringside, high-fiving every fan she passed.
Referee Nikkon Lee had come to her senses by this time and was conferring with Carly Rae. Apparently, Lee ruled that Kana intentionally pulled her into the line of fire and disqualified the champion. Manami was confused at the outcome and the fans were livid. Toyota had won the match, but the belt went home with the incumbent Kana.
Winner = Manami Toyota by disqualification in 18:43 (Kana retains the NWA World Women's Championship)
Regal: "So far, we've had two matches end in disqualification. This has been a very unsatisfying day indeed."
Young: "Yes it has, William. Manami Toyota deserves the Women's Championship. She was robbed, in my opinion. I hope that she gets another opportunity at the title very soon."
Regal: "There is one more chance for us to have a clean finish tonight, when Kevin Owens goes one-on-one with Claudio Castagnoli for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. But first, we want to take you to a pre-taped interview with 'Lord of the Ring' Tetsuya Naito, conducted by Mandy Leon earlier today."
Mandy Leon: "Tetsuya, I attempted to interview you last week in the ring, when 'Meiyu Tag' appeared out of nowhere to attack and decimate you. I wanted to ask you how it felt to win the 'Lord of the Ring' tournament, when you defeated Adam Cole in the finals for the $50,000 prize."
Tetsuya Naito: "Thank you for having me back for this interview. It was an exciting feeling to know that I had defeated Adam Cole and that I was now the 'Lord of the Ring.' $50,000 for one night's work is something I can get used to!"
Leon: "Haha. I'll bet. You have made quite an impression in the short time NWA: Show Time has been around. The fans seemed to have grabbed on to your high-flying style. I must say that the 'Stardust Press' is a thing of beauty."
Naito: "Thank you. I love the people. It's their cheers that drive me. The 'Stardust Press' is my special gift back to them."
Leon: "I want to talk about 'Meiyu Tag' for a moment. You know Goto and Shibata well from your days in New Japan. Why do you think they have singled you out?"
Naito: "My guess is jealousy. I have beaten both of them in the past. I have a good track record against Goto and Shibata. They wish to make a quick name for themselves in Show Time and get revenge on me as well. It's, how do you say? A win-win for them."
Leon: "I assume you want to get them in the ring as soon as possible. How will you combat the numbers game, considering there's two of them and one of you?"
Naito: "I have already taken care of that, Ms. Leon. I have an old friend who works for Show Time. His name is Ryusuke Taguchi. He has agreed to team with me and I am officially challenging 'Meiyu Tag' to a match next week on TV. We'll see if they accept, knowing the odds will be even."
Leon: "Let's hope they do accept the challenge. I, for one, would love to see that match happen! Tetsuya, thank you so much for your time!"
Naito: "My pleasure, Ms. Leon!"
Regal: "We have found out that 'Meiyu Tag' has indeed accepted the challenge and will do battle with Naito and Taguchi on next week's Power Hour. It's shaping up to be a strong show!"
Young: "I'd be here even if I wasn't working behind the microphone! Well, it's now time for the moment we've waited all night for. The richest prize in the sport is on the line next!"
Match Three ~ NWA World Heavyweight Championship ~ Kevin Owens vs. Claudio Castagnoli
The action began as soon as the bell rang. Castagnoli knocked Owens outside early, and landed a "Suicide Dive" that almost smashed the top of his head on the floor. He followed up with a running "European Uppercut," sending Owens into the barricade. Castagnoli was then flung into the corner post by Owens. Owens put Castagnoli in a "Rear Chinlock," but Claudio powered out. Castagnoli set up for the "Giant Swing," but ended up hitting the "Alphamare Waterslide" for a near fall. Owens ran Cesaro into the turnbuckle and hit a "German Suplex" that got a two-count. The two fought on the top rope, but Castagnoli connected with another "European Uppercut" and a "Dropkick" that took both men down. He rammed Owens into the outside turnbuckle and went to attempt a "Deadlift Suplex" back inside. Owens crotched Castagnoli and brought him in the ring for a "Pop-up Powerbomb," followed by a "Package Piledriver" for the win.
Winner and still NWA World Heavyweight Champion = Kevin Owens by pinfall in 22:56
Regal: "What a fantastic outing for both men. Owens retains and will head into Summer Sizzle as the champion."
Young: "Impressive showing for Castagnoli. He has nothing to be ashamed of."
Regal: "No indeed. I believe Claudio is a force to be reckoned with in NWA: Show Time. Well fans, join us next week for another exciting episode of the Show Time Power Hour. For Renee Young, I'm William Regal saying, ta ta for now!"
