Chris Benoit, who killed himself after murdering his wife Nancy and their seven-year-old son Daniel, was mentioned by Vince during episode six…
“Chris Benoit was thought of as an excellent in-ring performer. And as far as we knew, a great guy. There is no correlation between taking steroids and what happened to Chris Benoit. Human beings are flawed. Chris went nuts. It happens in every form of life and everything, so that’s the only thing I can take away from it.”
“This doctor came up with this ridiculous statement of ‘Okay here’s why Chris Benoit did this.’ There was some sort of trauma to his head and things were shown where Chris would dive off the rope and hit someone with his head. That’s a complete work. It looks like there’s damage and there’s not. We know what we’re doing, we don’t hurt each other.”
During the sixth episode, Vince said the following about himself…
“I’ve got two different brains. I have, like, computers in my head, and sometimes they work against me. I have one computer talking to you right now, and there’s another going on with me thinking something completely different. And then there’s a third one sometimes. If I wanted to tap into it, I could. And so it’s difficult for me sometimes to pay attention to things. And it’s bothered me through the years because all I wanted to be was just normal. I wanted to fit in. But I deal with it because that’s who you are. Just deal with events. It doesn’t matter what you want to be this way or you want to be that way.”
The interviewer then asked, “What’s that other brain thinking right now?” Vince responded with “Something having a lot of fun and is involving sex.”
Here is what Vince had to say about the Rita Chatterton allegations…
“When you’re accused of this and accused of that, and there’s this deluge of things, ‘You’re this, you’re that.’ One of the things was an alleged rape, that never happened. Once you’re accused of rape, you’re a rapist. But it was consensual and actually, had it been a rape, the statute of limitations had run out.”
One of the topics discussed was The Undertaker’s undefeated streak coming to an end at Wrestlemania 30 against Brock Lesnar. Undertaker said the following about the match…
“The Streak is a huge part of the attraction of WrestleMania, so I was gonna win the streak was gonna stay intact but that day Vince walked in my dressing room and said ‘Mark, I think we’re gonna put Brock over tonight.’ About 5/10 minutes into the match I got concussed, the match went on for 25 minutes or so but I can’t to this day recall being in that match.”
Vince had a different opinion on the situation…
“It was a last-minute decision, Mark wasn’t prepared for it, he was in some psychological shock. Looking back, I don’t see where Mark was concussed, it could’ve happened but I think Mark just didn’t remember any of that because it was so traumatic for him.”
One of the topics discussed was Vince potentially retiring and here was Vince’s response to the question…
“No, I don’t see myself ever retiring. I never understood why people stop growing, When you stop growing, you die. Some people are like ‘I want to retire one day.’ What are you going to do when you retire? I have no sympathy for people like that. So, go die.”
At one point, Paul Heyman recalled a creative disagreement between Vince and Shane McMahon…
“Most definitive moment I’ve seen between Vince and Shane was a creative argument that happened one night. Shane had an idea that he really believed in, and Vince totally disagreed with it. With most things that happen with Vince, once they start to escalate, they escalate really fast.
Vince finally turned to Shane, and he said, ‘Not while I’m alive.’ Vince, who was eating something, took his knife and handed it to Shane. He said, ‘Right there [points to heart]. Come on. Right there. If you want this so bad, stick the dagger right here. That’s what you’re going to have to do to make that decision. If you don’t stick the dagger right here, then I’ll know you’re not man enough to do it, and I have to take that into consideration as well. Or you can buy me out, the way I bought out my father. If I don’t get out of your way be prepared to get rid of me the way I would have had to get rid of my father when he wasn’t doing things my way at all.'”
