The episode began with a cold open of Austin Theory backstage looking dejected. Nick Aldis and Kamille approached him.
Nick Aldis: "Listen, I know what it's like to be part of a stable in this company. And, I know what it's like to be kicked to the curb by them. But, success in this company is predicated upon one principle--strength in numbers. You are insanely athletic and you are a quality talent, but you need seasoning. You need guidance. And, you need an insurance policy (pointing to Kamille). Come with me, mate. This could be a blessing in disguise for you."
Austin looked at Aldis and Kamille for a moment, then stood up and walked away with them.
The typical episode opening then aired.
William Regal, Mauro Ranallo, and Jim Cornette were discussing this potential new alliance. Regal questioned whether Aldis was forming a team or looking to add more new names as allies. The team then gave the floor to Cathy Kelley, who hyped the announcements for matches at Spring Stampede.
A video of Commissioner Sting aired, where he announced that Edge would defend the Legends Championship against Kevin Nash at the event, and "The KliQ" was barred from ringside. Also announced was a "Bunkhouse Stampede" match for the women, a twenty-woman, over-the-top-rope "Battle Royal," where the participants can "come as they are" (normal ring gear rules do not apply). This match hearkened back to Jim Crockett Promotions in the mid-eighties.
Kelly then gave way to the Legends Commentary Team.
Match One ~ NWA: Legends Tag Team Championship ~ "Rock-n-Roll Express" (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) vs. "The Horsemen" (Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson) with James J. Dillon
Tully and Arn were named number one contenders while "The KliQ" still held the championship, but did not receive a proper title match. This was their chance against former rivals over the World Tag Team Championship. In this match, Morton's left shoulder was targeted brutally by his nemeses. They worked him over for some time. Morton, "as tough as a three-dollar steak" (quipped by Jim Ross) would not submit. Eventually, his arm became useless. He finally got a tag in to Gibson, who fended off the challengers as long as he could. Morton got a blind tag in and tried to take out his enemies one-handed. He was a house of fire at first, but soon faded. Arn put him in a brutal "Crossface" with a "Chicken Wing" variation. Ricky screamed out, but would not give in. Finally, Robert jumped in the ring and waved the referee off, forfeiting the match for his team.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Legends Tag Team Champions = "The Horsemen" by referee stoppage in 12:43
Arn and Tully were joined by Dillon as they held the titles high above their heads. Eventually, the current iteration of "The Four Horsemen" ran down to join in the festivities.
Match Two ~ "The Machine" Brian Cage vs. Jake Hager with "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Women's Championship ~ Dr. Britt Baker, DMD with Adam Cole vs. Alexa Bliss with Aleister Black
This supposedly was Bliss' last shot at the title. She was vicious against the champion, unrelenting and trying pinfall after pinfall. Black was watching the crowd, the entrance, and other spots in the arena, presumably looking for signs of "The Fiend." Throughout the match, there did not seem to be any evidence that Bray Wyatt or any incarnation of him was present. Then, Bliss caught Baker in position for "Sister Abigail." The arena lights went dark. A spotlight came up in center ring. Bliss was unconscious and on her back. Baker was lying with an arm over her chest. The referee counted to three before Black could get in to break the count.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Women's Champion = Britt Baker by pinfall in 18:14
After the bell, the arena lights came back on, but were red. Then, the ominous laughter of "The Fiend" rang out all over the building as Black knelt over a fallen Bliss.
