William Regal attempted to begin the program, but he was interrupted by the music of new Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole, who was joined by new Women's Champion Britt Baker. The two sauntered to the ring, posed on the apron, then Cole did his signature, "Adam Cole baybay!" chant before Britt did her patented, "D-M-D!" chant. The crowd was deafening, but split in its applause and boos for both competitors.
After several minutes of extolling their own virtues, the pair was confronted by Aleister Black and Alexa Bliss. Aleister talked about his time to move to the front of the line and usher in an era of evil. Bliss talked about how she would have been the Women's Champion if it had not been for the interference of "The Fiend." A challenge was laid down and accepted for a "Mixed Tag Team" match in the main event.
The Legends Division took center stage first, with "The Horsemen" challenging for the Tag Team Championship. Cathy Kelley hyped the match, then sent it over to the Legends Commentary Team.
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Legends Tag Team Championship ~ "The KliQ" ("Big Sexy" Kevin Nash & "Bad Guy" Scott Hall with "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Road Dogg" Brian James, Billy Gunn, and Sean Waltman) vs. "The Horsemen" (Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson) with James J. Dillon
During the match, the distractions and outside interference were afoot. Still, the challengers were able to stay in it. In a sequence that got fans on their feet, Nash went for a "Running Big Boot," but Blanchard ducked and the long-limbed Nash stepped over the top rope and was dumped to the floor by Tully. Hall jumped into the ring, but was unceremoniously dumped by Arn with a vicious "Spinebuster." Double A went for the pin, but it was broken up by Shawn Michaels, causing the DQ.
Winners = "The Horsemen" by disqualification in 10:12 ("The KliQ" retains)
After the bell, a beat down commenced until Ric Flair brought down the current iteration of "The Four Horsemen" to chase off "The KliQ." Flair then made an interesting challenge for Starrcade: his men plus his two old friends against "The KliQ" six-on-six. Michaels accepted.
The Women's Division was up next, as Cathy Kelley announced Maya Yukihi against Reina Obscura.
Match Two ~ Maya Yukihi vs. Reina Obscura
These two put on a show. They went at it full tilt, neither woman backing down or slowing up. In the end, Maya got Reina to tap out to a "Koji Clutch."
Winner = Maya Yukihi by submission in 15:23
Match Three ~ "Mixed Tag Team" match ~ Adam Cole & Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Aleister Black & Alexa Bliss
This was an intense and competitive back-and-forth match. It never was clear who had the genuine advantage. After nearly twenty minutes of heated action, Black looked poised to end it with "Black Mass." He lifted a weary Cole off the mat with his foot underneath Adam's chin and prepared to strike. Then, the lights went red and "The Fiend" appeared on the entrance stage. Bliss jumped off the apron and started backing away from the ring. Black's eyes were as big as saucers. Then, his lights went out as Cole recovered and nailed a "Super Kick." Adam quickly mounted the turnbuckles and hit a "Panama City Destroyer" to take Black out for good.
Winners = Adam Cole & Britt Baker by pinfall in 21:05
Regal closed the episode by theorizing that "The Fiend" will eventually get his hands on his enemies.
