With the new episode format, the show has a new opening montage, complete with Mauro Ranallo's signature "Momma Mia!," a famous quip by Jim Cornette, and William Regal's ever-present, "Ta ta for now" closer. The broadcast went straight to Legend's Division Hostess Cathy Kelley. Kelley hyped the new format and then introduced the Legends Commentary Team of Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, and Tony Schiavone.
Match One ~ "Rated R Superstar" Edge, "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle, & Christian Cage vs. "The KliQ" ("New Age Outlaws" {"Road Dogg" Brian James & Billy Gunn} and "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels with "The Bad Guy" Scott Hall and "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash)
This was a main event level match, but it went on first due to a stacked card. After a back and forth encounter, it looked like Michaels may have gotten the pin on Edge after interference by Hall. This was caught by the referee, who stopped his count. As Hall and Michaels argued with the referee, Edge used a "Crucifix" pinning combination to get Michaels and surprise everyone.
Winners = Edge, Christian Cage, & Kurt Angle by pinfall in 12:38
The normal announce crew was back for the Women's Division match, which would feature all new signees in a "Battle Royal."
Match Two ~ "Battle Royal" ~ AJ Lee, Maryse Ouellet, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, Kamille, Scarlett, Trinity Uso, Eve Torres, Joanna Rose, Whiplash, Alexa Bliss, Brandi Lauren, Shotzi Blackheart, Faith Jeffries, Ava White, Jazmin Allure, Amira Blair, Maya Yukihi, Paola Blaze, Rocky Radley, Notorious Mimi, Allie Parker, Robyn & Charlotte Renegade, "Exile" (Genesis & Exodus) with Malia Hosaka (manager), "Dixie Darlings" (Jolene & Jolynn), "Bad & Boujee" (Kenzie Paige & Ella Envy), Rok-C, Reina Obscura
This was a wild bout, which featured a final five of Maya Yukihi, Rok-C, Britt Baker, Alexa Bliss, and Kamille. Bliss eliminated herself after "The Fiend" made an appearance at ringside, causing her to panic and hop over the top rope, running through the crowd. Yukihi got dumped in a double team by Baker and Kamille. Rok-C had no allies as she got pummeled by the "Worst Case Scenario" mates. They took turns running into Rok-C after tying her arms into the ropes. Finally, Kamille took a charge. Rok-C freed herself in the nick of time and sent Kamille over the top with a "Backdrop." Baker was enraged and tossed Rok-C out. When Britt turned to gloat over her supposed victory, Rok-C, after hanging on to the ropes, "skinned the cat" and came back in. Rok-C ran over and dumped an unsuspecting Baker for the big win.
Winner = Rok-C by final elimination in 11:07
Match Three ~ Number One Contender's match ~ Adam Cole with Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. "Modern Day Messiah" Seth Rollins with Scarlett
Baker was still hot about losing the previous match and was complaining into the camera. This was an all-important match, where the winner would go on to face Kota Ibushi for the Heavyweight Championship at Halloween Havoc. The match itself was a technical marvel. The women were contentious at ringside, as they tussled during the "Battle Royal" as well. In the end, Rollins had Cole on the top rope and looked like he was going for an "Avalanche Falcon Arrow." Cole blocked it and shoved Seth off the top. Adam then hit a beautiful "Panama City Sunrise" for the pin.
Winner = Adam Cole by pinfall in 25:46
Regal, Ranallo, and Cornette gushed over the main event, then William closed with his signature, "Ta ta for now" line.
