William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Men, spring is nearly upon us! Last week, WALTER successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship! This week, 'Glorious Outlaws' will defend the World Tag Team Championship against his 'Imperium' mates Aichner and Bartel!"
Mauro Ranallo: "It's not often that NWA World Championships are defended on television! We get World Title matches two weeks in a row!"
Jim Cornette: "Not only that, but we get a showdown between Garza and Riddle in the cage!"
Regal: "Yes sir! That will be a barn-burner! But first, we'll start off with our Legends division match! Let's go to Cathy Kelley!"
Cathy Kelley: "Thank you, William! The Legends division made a huge debut last week with the team of Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson getting a controversial win against 'The Rock-n-Roll Express!' Ricky and Robert have promised revenge on 'The Horsemen,' so we haven't seen the last of those four! Tonight, we have singles action, as Kurt Angle and Edge will go at it for the first time in nearly twenty years!"
Match One ~ "Rated R Superstar" Edge vs. "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle with Jake Hager & Shelton Benjamin
Kurt tells Edge that there is no way he is going to beat him tonight and as such, Angle asks Edge to forfeit. Angle said, "Come on Edge. I think I know you," but Edge hits Angle with right hands. Nice way to try and get the crowd behind Edge. Kurt took an early beating, but came back with a "Belly-to-Belly Suplex" over the top rope. Angle then threw Edge into the steel steps, causing damage to Edge's midsection. Kurt worked over Edge with a couple of "Sleeperholds." Edge eventually came back with a "Hurricanrana" off the top rope for a two-count. There was a sequence where Kurt went for the "Angle Slam," Edge countered, then Angle went for the "Ankle Lock," but Edge rolled through for a cover and got two. Edge hit an "Edge-O-Matic," but Benjamin distracted the referee, preventing the count. Edge saw Shelton and the distraction allowed Angle to catch a "Schoolboy Roll," but only for two. Kurt ducked a "Clothesline" from Edge, but Edge collided with and knocked down the referee. Angle put Edge in the "Ankle Lock" and Edge was close to tapping out and maybe even appeared to at have slapped the mat at one point. Frustrated, Angle went to revive the referee. This gave Edge much needed time to recover. Kurt turned around into a "Spear" that crumpled him. Edge then hit an "Impaler DDT" for the win.
Winner = Edge by pinfall in 13:07
After the match, Hager and Benjamin jumped Edge, who took a quick beating until his best friend Christian Cage ran down to the ring with a steel chair. "The Varsity Club" scattered. The camera quickly panned to a luxury box, where Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Brian James, and Billy Gunn were sitting.
Regal: "What a match! So far, our Legends division has not disappointed!"
Ranallo: "Edge and Kurt Angle turned back the clock! That looked like two thousand one out there! Jim, what do you think about it?!"
Cornette: "Oh, there's no question I'm all in on the Legends division! Those are my contemporaries out there! In fact, I've been in talk with Commissioner Sting and Cathy Kelley. I have a surprise for everyone next week!"
Regal: "With all of your goings on lately, you've been very close to the vest. First, you and 'The Revival' are working a side deal with Ron Simmons and NWA: SWAT. Now, you're saying you have a surprise for next week as it relates to the Legends division?"
Cornette: "Yes, and don't bother asking for a spoiler! You'll find out next week like everyone else!"
Regal: "Fair enough. Okay fans, we need to take a quick break. When we return, Matt Riddle and Angel Garza will settle their score in a 'Steel Cage' match!"
Regal: "We're back! Fans, the feud between Cruiserweight Champion Angel Garza and 'Varsity Club' member Matt Riddle has raged for months now. What started as professional jealously because advisor Eve Torres left 'The Varsity Club' to join Garza has now become a very personal rivalry in which both men have cost the others championships and championship opportunities. Riddle cost Garza the World Jr. Title at SuperBrawl. Angel repaid the favor last week, when his distraction led to Riddle losing the Mid-Atlantic Championship he had just won two weeks prior. It's all come down to this--a 'Steel Cage' match. The cruel structure is being put into place around the ring as we speak. Charly Caruso is standing by with Riddle. Let's see what he has to say."
Charly Caruso: "I am here with 'King of Bros' and former Mid-Atlantic Champion Matt Riddle. Tonight, he will face Angel Garza inside a steel cage. last week, Angel provided a distraction that allowed Gunner to surprise you and capture the Mid-Atlantic Championship. This feud has gotten personal and it looks like you'll settle it tonight."
Matt Riddle: "Chuck, you'd better believe the bro is going to settle it tonight! Angel Garza has been a nuisance to 'The Varsity Club' for long enough! Inside the cage, I'm right at home! I'm going to hurt Garza and make him pay for everything he's done to me, Kurt, Brock, Shelton, Jake, and anyone else!"
Caruso: "Okay. There you have it. William, back to you."
Regal: "Matt Riddle is in no joking mood tonight. He was in as foul a disposition as I've ever seen! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Two ~ "Steel Cage" match (non-title) ~ "Latin Heart Throb" Angel Garza with Eve Torres vs. "King of Bros" Matt Riddle with "The Beast" Brock Lesnar
Having Brock Lesnar en tow proved to be invaluable. For twenty minutes, Riddle and Garza tore each other up with the steel mesh. By the end, both men had parts of their bodies that looked like they had been dragged through a meat grinder. This was the bloodiest match we've seen on the program in some time. Garza ended up with the advantage near the end. He set Riddle up for his "Wing Clipper" finisher. Lesnar tore through the fencing and entered the cage. He dropped Garza with a huge "Lariat." Then, he landed an "F-5." Torres screamed in protest, but the referee could do nothing, as "Steel Cage" matches carry with them a "No Disqualification" stipulation. Riddle was dragged over onto Angel and Lesnar demanded that the referee count the three as he glared at his former business manager Torres.
Winner = Matt Riddle by pinfall in 21:19
Regal: "Matt Riddle may have gotten his hand raised, but that victory wasn't earned! It was handed to him by Brock Lesnar!"
Ranallo: "One resounding 'F-5' later, and Matt Riddle has won the war over Angel Garza!"
Cornette: "Well, a win's a win! At the end of the day, Matt Riddle got his hand raised. Whether or not he did it by himself is another story!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, we'll take another break. When we return, our World Tag Team Championship main event will be on deck!"
Regal: "We're back! Fans, it's main event time! The World Tag Team Championship is on the line! We welcome 'Imperium' to challenge the last remaining champions in 'The Four Horsemen!' Tensions have risen between these two groups in recent weeks! This match should only fuel the fire! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Three ~ NWA World Tag Team Championship ~ "Glorious Outlaws" ("Glorious" Bobby Roode & "Outlaw" James Storm) with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & Maryse Ouellet vs. "Imperium" (Mercel Barthel & Fabian Aichner)
This match was a tremendous back-and-forth affair. The veteran champions are masterful at the "Horsemen" standard of tag team wrestling. They cut the ring in half. They work a body part. And, they're ruthless in their pursuit of victory. The challengers, who are versed in the grinding European style, were just as comfortable with a methodical pace. Ultimately, it looked like the younger men were fresher at the end. They had Roode set up for their team finisher. Storm ran in and pushed Bartel off the top rope to the floor. He then nailed Aichner with "Last Call." The champions hit Aichner with "DWI" for the win.
Winners and STILL NWA World Tag Team Champions = "Glorious Outlaws" by pinfall in 18:33
Regal: "The World Tag Team Championship stays with 'The Four Horsemen!' Roode and Storm have done it!"
Ranallo: "What a win for the champions! They always find a way!"
Cornette: "Well, 'The Horsemen' still have some championship gas left in the tank!"
Regal: "Fans, we're all out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for the historic three-hundredth episode of the Show Time Power Hour! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
