William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Men, Starrcade is just two days away!"
Mauro Ranallo: "Momma Mia! The biggest event of the year, and it's going to field twenty matches for the first time ever!"
Jim Cornette: "And, on two separate continents! Starrcade has come a long way from the Greensboro Coliseum in my heyday!"
Regal: "Indeed. We know many of the matches that will headline the event from across the NWA, but the Board of Governors will announce the final list this week! This is shaping up to be the biggest event in wrestling history! But first, we have a great match scheduled for tonight! The Tag Team Championship is on the line in a 'Triple Threat' match, as Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi tanahashi will defend against 'The Revival' and 'War Machine!' But, Commissioner Sting has thrown a wrinkle in it--it's now an 'Elimination' match as well! Because of that, it's the only contest officially scheduled tonight. 'The Four Horsemen' have demanded interview time afterward as television time permits! So, it will be a star studded hour! Jim has already taken his leave, so, let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "Triple Threat Elimination" match ~ Kota Ibushi & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette vs. "War Machine" ("WarBeard" Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe)
This might go down as the greatest tag team match in the history of the Show Time Power Hour. It literally had everything. There was drama, excitement, mat wrestling, aerial artistry, near falls, chain wrestling, tandem offense, multi-man chop battles, and whatever else you could think of. After twenty-two grueling minutes, there had been no eliminations. Then, Rowe and Hanson were double-teaming Kota in the corner. The referee gave them multiple warnings, then made his five-count. The enraged competitors refused to break and were disqualified. They were ranting and raving at the official, but the first elimination had been determined. Before they left the ring, the duo nailed Ibushi with "Fallout." Dawson attempted to get a quick pin, but Kota miraculously kicked out. The crowd exploded. The two teams then exchanged advantages for another twenty minutes after that, earning them the coveted "Fight Forever!" chant. After a sequence where all four men ended up down from multiple blows, the crowd roared into a "This is awesome!" refrain. The finishing scenario was absolutely uncanny in its timing. Tanahashi called for the "High Fly Flow" on Wilder. At the same time, Kota went for a dive on Dawson, who ducked. Ibushi went flying over the top rope. Scott then ran over and flung Tana off his top rope perch. Hiroshi went flying spread eagle into the ring. Wilder sprang up and hit "Shatter Machine" in mid-air. Tana had no way to defend it. Three seconds later, "The Revival" had won an unprecedented sixth Tag Team Championship.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions = "The Revival" in a total match time of 45:33
Regal: "Oh my! Dash and Dawson have done it!"
Ranallo: "Are you kidding me?! Have we ever seen a better tag team match than what we've just witnessed here?!"
Regal: "Forty-five minutes! That was a master class! Congratulations to 'The Revival!' I think Jim Cornette is crying! Fans, we need to take a break. 'The Four Horsemen' will be in the ring when we return!"
Regal: "We're back! Ric Flair and 'The Four Horsemen' demanded interview time in the main event segment to discuss their big 'Streetfight' with 'The Varsity Club' in two days as the feature contest of Starrcade! Without further adieu, let's bring them to the ring!"
JoJo Offerman introduced "The Four Horsemen" to a chorus of boos. They came out adorned with all the NWA gold they've amassed.
Ric Flair: "Charlotte, woooo, North Carolina! 'The Horsemen' are in town for one more night, then we're headed to Pasadena to tear California down!"
Chris Jericho: "Look at the collection of talent standing before you. 'Le Champions,' myself, the World Heavyweight Champion. CM Punk, the US Heavyweight Champion, and 'Glorious Outlaws,' the World Tag Team Champions. We've won it all and here we are in all our splendor! We have a little match on Thursday night I hear. We'll make quick work of 'The Varsity Club,' then we'll kick back and have a little of the bubbly!"
CM Punk: "So, Brock, you think you and your collegiate wrestler friends scare us?! This ain't college wrestling, you big dope! There are no rounds, no points for takedowns, and no one-count pins! This is a man's sport and we do it better than anyone alive! Come Starrcade, we're going to make you wish you were back in the amateurs!"
Bobby Roode: "That's right! You see, pro wrestling is the sport of kings! It's not a college boy kind of thing! We're real men and we know how to fight! That's what it's going to take to win this battle! Your 'Fireman's Carry' and your mat technique won't win you a thing! This is all about who can get down and dirty! And, no one can do that better than 'The Four Horsemen!'"
James Storm: "Boys, this is a 'Streetfight!' Well, that ain't much different than a bar fight, and I've been in a thousand of those, won 'em all, and never spilled a drop of beer while doing it! So, bring your singlets and your college emblems! We'll bring the brass knucks and barstools and we'll see who's badder! But, at the end of the night, they'll only be one thing left to say! Sorry about your d*** luck!"
Just then, "The Varsity Club" came running to the ring and a giant melee ensued. The eight Starrcade combatants began to brawl all over ringside. Eventually, Security ran out to try and separate the two teams. That was met with much resistance and continued pull-aparts. The crowd was at a fever pitch, screaming "Let them fight!"
Regal: "Fans, this is the darndest fight we've seen in quite a while! If you haven't already, please call your local cable or satellite provider and order Starrcade 2K20 to see these two teams tear one another limb from limb! We're out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour, where we'll recap Starrcade and have more great action! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
The fight continued as the credits rolled.
