Canadian actor/voice actor Kirby Morrow -- known for starring as Scott Summers/Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution, Miroku in Inuyasha and Goku in the "Ocean Dub" of Dragon Ball Z -- has passed away. He was 47 years old.
Kirby Morrow was born in Jasper, Alberta, Canada on Aug. 28, 1973. His career began around the late '90s, and he went on to voice the character of Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution from 2000 to 2003. As far as anime goes, Morrow was known for voicing the character of Miroku (the lecherous monk) in the English dub Inuyasha, its follow-up Inuyasha: The Final Act, as well as the various Inuyasha films. He was even recently tapped to reprise the role once again for Inuyasha's sequel anime Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. Morrow also voiced the character of Teru Mikami in Death Note, as well as main protagonist Goku in The Ocean Group's dub of Dragon Ball Z, having taken over the role starting with Episode 160. Other roles from anime includes Trowa Barton from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing & Van Fanel from The Vision of Escaflowne
In the world of live-action, Morrow debuted in the 1996 made-for-television film Stand Against Fear, later voicing the character of Michelangelo in the TV series Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation (who was played in live-action by Jarred Blancard and Larry Lam). He went on to make a series of one-off appearances in such shows as Arrow, The Flash and Supernatural, and even had a recurring role as the character Benny in FX's Legion. He also made multiple appearances as part of the Stargate franchise, most notably as Captain Dave Kleinman in Stargate Atlantis. In the wake of his passing, multiple fans, friends and colleagues of Morrow have taken to social media to offer their condolences.
