Madusa: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest hour on television, Femme Fatales! I'm your hostess, Madusa. With me are Renee Young and Melissa Santos! Girls, we're less than a week removed from Great American Bash and 'The Hive' have struck a blow to the collective roster of NWA: Femme Fatales!"
Renee Young: "Duce, it was a big victory for Rosemary and her crew last Sunday, but it was not without controversy as she used that deadly purple mist once again!"
Melissa Santos: "That definitely came into play. We also saw some slight dissention among the 'Horsewomen/Submission Magician/Impact Players' contingent during the match! If Femme Fatales is to stand against the dark war, we must band together!"
Madusa: "You said it, sis! Well, tonight is dedicated to the Television Championship, which will be decided in an eight-woman 'Gauntlet' match tonight! Four women had to win matches to get in and four women were chosen by the Commissioner and the GM. Nixon Newell, the former champion who had the title stripped due to injury, has gotten medical clearance sooner than expected and might just win back the title she never lost! Her former best friend and partner Dakota Kai is among the field! It remains to be seen if those two will meet up! But, the waiting is over! Let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ NWA: Femme Fatales Television Championship ~ "Gauntlet" match ~ Charlotte Flair vs. "Vixen of Violence" Viper vs. Mayu Iwatani vs. Tessa Blanchard vs. Dakota Kai vs. "Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler vs. Salina de la Renta vs. Nixon Newell
(Commercial breaks were taken during and between "Gauntlet" legs, but will not be referenced during this post)
Mayu and Salina began the match after a random draw. de la Renta was aggressive, combating the quickness of Mayu with a sneak attack. Salina had things going her way, but Mayu turned the tide and eventually won with her "Snap Dragon Suplex."
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg one = Mayu Iwatani by pinfall in 6:04
Viper was out next. She wasted no time in going after Mayu as soon as the bell rang. Iwatani fought her off, but it wasn't enough. Viper finished her off with the "Viper Driver."
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg two = Viper by pinfall in 8:43
Tessa Blanchard came out next. She and Viper had a stare down in center ring before the bell rang.
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg three = Tessa Blanchard by pinfall in 10:00
Charlotte Flair came striding out in a beautiful robe, ready for battle.
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg four = Charlotte Flair by pinfall in 10:32
Flair and Blanchard reluctantly shook hands as Tessa left the ring. Shayna Baszler stepped into the entrance and smiled as Charlotte poised herself for battle.
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg five = Charlotte Flair by pinfall in 11:44
Dakota Kai walked down the aisle in all black as Charlotte slumped in one corner and gasped for air, exhausted after the two longest legs of the "Gauntlet."
As soon as the bell rang, Dakota came flying at Charlotte with the "Kai-O Kick." Flair fell to the mat in a heap. Dakota then dragged her to center ring and gloated to the fans. Charlotte struggled to get to her feet. Dakota then nailed the "Kai-ropractor" for the win.
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg six = Dakota Kai by pinfall in 1:08
Nixon Newell then stepped out and stared a hole through Kai, whose eyes became as big as saucers at the prospect of having to face Nixon to win the championship.
Madusa: "Oh baby! Here we go!"
Newell ran down to ringside. Kai fled the ring and tried to escape through the crowd, but was caught. Newell beat Kai from pillar to post outside the ring. The referee implored them to get into the ring so that she could ring the bell, but Nixon was content to inflict punishment outside, knowing that she could bend the rules since the leg had not officially begun. Kai actually put herself into the ring as a means of escaping Newell's death mission. Nixon followed her into the ring and the bell sounded. Nixon continued her onslaught as the fans cheered wildly. Newell became even more enraged by the moment and began to lose all semblance of control. She battered Dakota in the corner as the referee counted. The referee had to step in and admonish Nixon to keep the match in center ring, but she was shoved aside. Again, Newell went on her corner attack as Dakota cowered. The referee once again stepped in, but was thrown down by Nixon, who had lost all regard for the rules. Dakota crawled toward center ring as Nixon steadied herself in the corner. Newell then unloaded with "The Shiniest Wizard." She made the cover, but the referee rang the bell, signaling for a disqualification.
Winner of "Gauntlet" leg seven = Dakota Kai by disqualification in 3:09
Winner and NEW NWA: Femme Fatales Television Champion = Dakota Kai in a total match time of 51:20
Madusa: "Dakota Kai just won the title after getting her a** handed to her by Nixon Newell!"
Young: "Nixon let her temper get the best of her and she lost all control!"
Santos: "She had Dakota dead to rights, but she put her hands on the official. That's a DQ every time!"
Newell was beside herself as several officials tried to restrain her from going after Dakota. Kai scooted out of the ring, clutching the Television Championship and staggering backward after the beating she took.
Madusa: "What a disappointing ending to the 'Gauntlet' for the returning Nixon Newell. Dakota Kai will live to fight another day and she walks away as the Television Champion. But, rest assured, Nixon Newell is not done with her yet! Fans, we've run out of time for this week. Please join us again next Thursday on TNT for more Femme Fatales! For Renee Young and Melissa Santos, I'm Madusa! Keep on rockin' and rollin'!"
