William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Gents, Commissioner Ric Flair has promised a huge announcement right off the bat. What could it be?!"
Maura Ranallo: "After the way last week's episode ended, who knows?!"
Jim Cornette: "I, for one, hope he comes out here and gives 'Camp Cornette' another shot at that bounty!"
Regal: "Let's delay no longer! Scarlett Bordeaux is standing by in the ring!"
Scarlett Bordeaux: "Ladies and gentlemen, Commissioner Ric Flair."
Flair came out to a strong mixed reaction.
Ric Flair: "The 'Nature Boy,' the Commissioner, is back in Charlotte, North Carolina tonight! Woooo! Once again Miss Scarlett, you are looking as fine as wine."
Bordeaux: "I told you last week Commissioner, I'm 'The Smoke Show.'"
Flair: "I believe it! And, I like the confidence! Keep it up! Now, as promised, I am out here to make a huge announcement. Last week, the main event saw a match for the NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship. That match never got to reach a true finish because just about every tag team in this company came out and started a riot! First of all, that will never happen again, because if it does, some people around here will see pink slips! But, I was encouraged by one thing. I saw the passion that all of our tag team have for professional wrestling. And, that got me to thinking. So, I went to CEO Jordan Richards and we came up with a fantastic idea. NWA: Show Time is headquartered in the Charlotte and our territory covers the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and Tennessee. That is the exact same territory that Jim Crockett Promotions covered in the late eighties, when I was the World Champion. Woooo! Back in 1986, Crockett Promotions had a big tournament to commemorate the legacy of Jim Crockett, Sr., who started the company in the nineteen fifties. After what I saw last week, I think it's high time we honor that legacy once again. So, in the coming weeks, we will be bringing back this!"
The following graphic flashed on the tron:
The crowd erupted when they read the graphic announcing the return of the Crockett Cup.
Flair: "That's right! Twenty-four teams, all from NWA: Show Time, will vie for the Crockett Cup. The winners will receive the gold, silver, and platinum trophy and a check for one million dollars! Next week, we will unveil the brackets and seeding and announce the tournament dates. So, you tag teams want to prove something?! Now's your chance! Woooo!"
Regal: "Oh my! No one expected that announcement! The Crockett Cup returns!"
Ranallo: "Are you kidding me?! Momma Mia!"
Cornette: "I am so excited to hear this! I have firsthand knowledge of the Crockett Cup! 'The Midnight Express' were top seeds in all three of the tournaments held in the eighties! This is going to be epic! I guarantee 'Camp Cornette' will be there at the end!"
Regal: "Honestly Jim, I wouldn't bet against it! Fans, this was indeed a huge announcement! It precedes what should a be a great episode! Kota Ibushi will defend the Mid-Atlantic Championship! And, Matt Riddle continues his open challenge! So, let's get the action started inside the ring!"
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ Kota Ibushi vs. "Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin with Chad Gable
Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Shelton Benjamin by pinfall in 14:17
Regal: "What a shock! Chad Gable with the assist and Benjamin captures the title!"
Ranallo: "That was a blantant assist from Gable, but it nets Shelton Benjamin the championship!"
Cornette: "All's fair in love and war! Kota Ibushi just found that out!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, let's take a break. We'll be back with more great action in just a moment!"
Regal: "We're back! I'm just getting word that we've had an altercation in the back involving Alexa Bliss and Kamilla Kaine. Let's go backstage!"
The scene shifted to backstage, where Alexa Bliss and Kamilla Kaine had been broken up by officials. Commissioner Flair walked into the shot.
Flair: "Hey! Enough! We're not going to have anarchy this week! You wanna settle it?! Get out to the ring and settle it right now!"
Flair grabbed referee Drake Weurtz by the collar and demanded he go referee the match.
Regal: "Oh my! We have an impromptu women's match about to happen! Let's go back to the ring!"
Match Two ~ "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss vs. Kamilla Kaine
Bliss came sprinting toward the ring.
Kaine stalked more deliberately to the ring. Once the match started, it took the form of a catfight at first. Once it settled into a match, Kaine used her size and strength to wear Bliss down. Alexa, being the prime athlete she is, came roaring back. She had things going her way when referee Wuertz was inadvertently knocked down. Bliss went to the top and called for "Twisted Bliss." As she prepared to leap, Britt Baker sprinted to the ring. Baker caught Alexa in midair with a "Super Kick" that decleated her.
This allowed Kaine to snatch Bliss up and hit a "Powerbomb" for the pin after the referee roused himself.
Winner = Kamilla Kaine by pinfall in 10:03
Regal: "For the second match in a row, outside interference has been the theme. Britt Baker singlehandedly gave that match to Kamilla Kaine!"
Ranallo: "There's no question about it! Britt Baker was the MVP of that match!"
Cornette: "Did the referee see it?! Then, it didn't happen!"
Regal: "Nevertheless, it goes down in the record books as a win for Kamilla Kaine over Alexa Bliss. Fans, we'll take another break. Our main event is up next!"
Regal: "We're back and Television Champion Matt Riddle already is in the ring. Let's go to our main event!"
Matt Riddle: "Bro! I've been defending this Television Championship against any and all comers! Tonight is no different. Bring down the next victim of the original bro!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ "Matt Riddle Make the TV Title Great Again Open Challenge" ~ "King of Bros" Matt Riddle vs. "The One & Only" Ricochet with AJ Lee
They wasted no time once the bell rang, lunging at each other with matching "Thrust Kicks." Ricochet attempted to hit a "Standing Moonsault" at one point, only for Riddle to turn it into a "Triangle Choke." Riddle went into a series of rolling "Gutwrench Suplexes." Ricochet later hit a picture-perfect "Shooting Star Press." There was a scintillating chop sequence where it looked like the flesh would rip from each man's body. In the end, Ricochet went to the top for the "630 Senton Splash." He paused on the top rope when Straight Edge Superstar walked out from the entrance way. This gave Riddle time to recover. He ran over to Ricochet, scooped him onto his shoulders, and landed "Bro to Sleep." Riddle then transitioned into the "Bromission," which got him the tapout.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Television Champion = Matt Riddle by submission in 22:44
Regal: "What a match! But, once again, an outside presence helped decide it!"
Ranallo: "Straight Edge Superstar continues to pester 'The Richards Collective' and Ricochet in particular, potentially costing him the Television Championship!"
Cornette: "Potentially?! He out and out cost him that title and the Mid-Atlantic Championship weeks ago! He's a menace and he needs to be unmasked!"
Regal: "Well, the bounty still exists for Straight Edge Superstar's mask! Will he lose it? Is he CM Punk? Only time will tell. Fans, we're out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! And, don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com to catch After Buzz with Cathy Kelley! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley gushed about the awesome set of matches that we saw on tonight's episode. She continued to speculate on the true identity of Straight Edge Superstar. Finally, Kelley talked about the return of the Crockett Cup, saying that the world will be buzzing about it, no pun intended. with that, she signed off.
