William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Men, we have a hard-hitting episode lined up tonight!"
Mauro Ranallo: "Yes sir! Matt Riddle continues his quest to make the Television Championship 'great' again!"
Jim Cornette: "He's risking a lot with these open challenges! I hope he has something to show for it at the end of the night!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, the Tag Team Championship is on the line in our main event tonight, as 'Killer Elite Squad' looks to add gold to the resume of the new 'Hart Foundation' when they challenge Bobby Roode and James Storm! We typically begin the program with a match, but tonight the Commissioner has requested time! Let's go to the ring!"
Scarlett Bordeaux: "Ladies and gentlemen, Commissioner Ric Flair."
Ric Flair: "The Commish is in the house! Woooo! And, Miss Scarlett, looking as only she can look! Scarlett, you're so hot, you're on fire!"
Bordeaux: "Well, they don't call me 'The Smoke Show' for nothing, Commissioner."
Flair: "You got that right! Woooo! Now, on to business! The reason I'm out here is to address the elephant in the room. His name is Straight Edge Superstar. Now, we all know the true identity of this man. It's CM Punk, no question about it! But, in the interest of keeping all the legalities above board, he must be exposed so that I can have the great pleasure of terminating his guaranteed contract once and for all! Woooo!"
Straight Edge Superstar came out to a rousing ovation.
Flair: "I'm glad you're out here. Now, I don't have to demand you get to this ring, CM!"
Straight Edge Superstar: "Commissioner Flair, you don't seem to get it, do you? I have explained at length the fact that I am in fact not CM Punk. I know you and Jordan Richards have placed a bounty on my head, but you would be sorely disappointed if this handsome face were shown to the world and it is not that of Mr. Philip Brooks. So, you might as well quit while you're ahead!"
Flair: "You'd like that, wouldn't you, Punk?! You'd like it if we dropped the bounty! No, no, no! It's not going to be that easy! You're not going to parade yourself around here, making a mockery of your suspension! In fact, not only is the bounty still in place, but it's about to be collected!"
SES: "Is that so?! Who's going to collect it?! You?!"
Flair: "If I wanted to, I'm more than enough man to do it! But, I don't have to soil this custom made suit. Someone else is going to do the dirty work for me. You see, I've booked you in a match tonight! And, your opponent is one who's one of the strongest and most athletic men on the roster! Oh, and by the way, that match starts right now! Wooo!"
Jim Cornette: "Ha ha! Surprise, surprise, boys! Now, if you'll excuse me, me and my man Claudio have a bounty to collect!"
Match One ~ Straight Edge Superstar vs. Claudio Castagnoli with Jim Cornette
This was a fantastic back-and-forth struggle. Both men got in some marquee offense. SES hit all of the typical CM Punk signatures. His style so much mirrored that of Punk that Regal and Ranallo had no choice but to acknowledge that fact. Castagnoli had the advantage toward the end, when the referee was knocked down inadvertently. SES looked to take the victory blow with the "Go to Sleep," but Cornette jumped onto the apron with his trusty tennis racket in hand. He took a swat at SES, who ducked. Castagnoli ran at SES, who moved out of the way just in time, sending Claudio headlong into Cornette's waist. Jim dropped to the floor, his racket still lying in the ring. SES grabbed it and whacked Claudio. He then set him up for the "Pepsi Plunge," which connected to give him the win.
Winner = Straight Edge Superstar by pinfall in 14:57
Regal: "What a win for Straight Edge Superstar, who has CM Punk's repertoire down to a tee!"
Ranallo: "You can say that again! He looked like a carbon copy!"
Regal: "Fans, we'll take a break and allow Jim Cornette to simmer down before rejoining us on commentary. Be back in a moment!"
Regal: "We're back! Charly Caruso is backstage with newcomer Killer Kross, who had an auspicious debut last week."
Charly Caruso: "I am here with Killer Kross, who debuted last week by defeating Johnny Mundo in impressive fashion. Killer, why have you come to NWA: Show Time?"
Killer Kross: "I walk miles and miles every day, searching for something, anything--something more than what goes through my head on a day-to-day basis. Hoping that there's something else to figure out about myself. The result is the same every time. I find broken pieces. I try to put them back together. I try to attach them to things. No matter how hard I try, they just don't fit. Nothing fits. In the end, I find out that there is nothing new to figure out about myself. I know everything I already need to know...how to hurt people better than anyone else. My travels have taken me here, to the land they call Show Time. They say the best fight here. Well, he does now. I will create more broken pieces and collect more bones. Nothing else matters."
Just then, Announcer Scarlett Bordeaux walked by and glared longingly at Kross. She then gave him a big smile before walking off. Shortly thereafter, Kross walked away in her general direction.
Just then, a commotion stirred behind Caruso, as "The Richards Collective" attempted to attack Straight Edge Superstar. They knocked him down, but he continued to scurry away. As he edged close to the exit door of the arena, Ricochet snatched off his mask to reveal another on underneath it. SES took the opportunity to escape outside.
Regal: "What a startling turn of events! Straight Edge Superstar was attacked by 'The Richards Collective' and unmasked, only to reveal that he had on a second mask underneath! Otherwise, he would have been exposed!"
Ranallo: "If he is CM Punk, he's living dangerously! Also, what is up between Killer Kross and Announcer Scarlett Bordeaux?! She seems very enamored by the newcomer!"
Regal: "Right. In his interview, he said nothing else matters but broken bones. well, after she walked by, it appeared that she mattered to him. we'll be paying attention to that developing story. We welcome back Jim Cornette to the commentary booth after an unsuccessful attempt to cash in the bounty."
Cornette: "I don't want to talk about it."
Regal: "Fair enough. Let's go to the ring for Matt Riddle's latest TV Championship defense!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ "Make the Television Championship Great Again Challenge" match ~ Matt Riddle vs. ?
Riddle stepped confidently into the ring and awaited the man who would answer the challenge.
Regal: "Oh my! Tommaso Ciampa loves to answer open challenges, doesn't he?!"
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Television Champion = Matt Riddle by submission in 15:08
Regal: "Matt Riddle continues to mow through opponents!"
Ranallo: "He really is on a tear right now!"
Cornette: "I'm more and more impressed with this kid! He has what it takes to be a real star in this sport!"
Regal: "For once, we're all in agreement! Fans, let's take a break. Our main event is up next!"
Regal: "All right, fans. We're back and ready to have a colossal Tag Team Championship main event!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "Glorious" Bobby Roode & "Outlaw" James Storm with Mayrse Ouellet vs. "Killer Elite Squad" (Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt)
This was a real fight, at first, and that advantage lies very handily on the side of "KES." However, the former "Beer Money" is one of the most crafty tag teams of the last generation. They eventually turned it into a technical match and then a track meet. This favored them. The champions had it all going their way until the end. Just as they were setting up to finished their challengers off, "War Machine" hit the ring and cleared out everyone.
Winners = no contest in 20:42 (Roode & Storm retain)
After the match, members of "The Richards Collective" and "The Hart Foundation" came down and a melee began. Soon after, a full-scale riot broke out, as "Camp Cornette," the Usos, The Forgotten Sons," "House of Truth," and several other teams ran down to the ring. We've never witnessed a scene quite like it on television.
Regal: "Fans, it's a free-for-all down here! We need to restore order!"
Commissioner Flair came down with the Security force, which was overwhelmed quickly.
Regal: "This fight might not end tonight! We'll stay with it as long as we can, but we're rapidly running out of time! Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! And, please log onto www.nwashowtime.com for After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
As the episode was leaving air, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were arriving in SWAT gear.
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley was taken aback by the ending scene of the program. She finished her thoughts with the line, "It looks like the entire tag team division wants a piece of the action." She then discussed the Straight Edge Superstar and complimented his ingenuity in wearing two masks. her parting thought after discussing his match with Claudio Casagnoli was, "If he's not CM Punk, he's his exact replica." With that, Kelley signed off.
