Before the traditional episode intro aired, a scene from earlier today was shown. "Euro Trash" was seen walking through the hallway backstage when they were approached by interviewer Joanna Rose.
Zack Sabre, Jr.: "Listen, we don't have time for this. We just got here. We're not doing any interviews today."
Joanna Rose: "Oh dear boy, I'm not here to interview you, but to snap you back into reality."
Marty Scurll: "What the bloody h*** do you mean by that?!"
Rose: "Only that you've been lost recently. When you blokes first arrived in NWA: Show Time, you took over the Cruiserweight division and you ruled it with an iron fist! But, you've lost your way recently. You need the right direction to get you back to the top."
Aleister Black: "What kind of direction?"
Rose: "My kind. Let's talk, boys."
The four walked down the hall to the locker room area.
The traditional episode intro then aired.
William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Gents, we saw the very interesting conversation from earlier today between Joanna Rose and 'Euro Trash.' We've received word that Joanna has turned in her notice as an interviewer and will now manage Zack Sabre, Marty Scurll, and Aleister Black!"
Mauro Ranallo: "That change was made quicker than a hiccup! Joanna Rose just talked her way into a managerial position. Jim, she's joined the ranks of your profession!"
Jim Cornette: "Well, the jury's still out on her chops as a manager. I'm sure she's not even in my league! But, then again, who is?!"
Regal: "Indeed. We'll see as this new partnership develops. Speaking of partnerships, today's episode is all about tag team action! All three of our featured bouts tonight are multi-man affairs, headlined by a double main event! 'The Revival' will defend the Tag Team Championship against 'Sons of Steel,' while 'War Machine defends the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team crown against 'The New Face of Fear!' Our first match is a 'Fatal Four-Way' Tag Team encounter out of the Cruiserweight division! The winner gets the next shot at 'Moustache Mountain!' Let's see which team earns that victory!"
Match One ~ "Fatal Four-Way" match ~ "Worldwide Underground" (Jack Evans & "Darewolf" PJ Black with Taya) vs. "Crowe's Nest" ("The Man Gravity Forgot" Adrian Neville & Hangman Page with Solomon Crowe) vs. Kota Ibushi & Angelico vs. "Catch Point" ("No Fly" Drew Gulak & "Bonafide" Fred Yehi with NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion "King of Bros" Matt Riddle)
This match had frenetic pacing. All four teams were flying around the ring. This match served as a perfect example of why NWA: Show Time offers the most stacked Cruiserweight roster in the world. The surprising bright spots at a couple of points were Hangman Page and Fred Yehi, who might be the least considered of the bunch. They put on a chain wrestling clinic midway through the match that had the fans to their feet. Angelico may be the highest flyer of the bunch, which is saying something with world renowned aerial artists like Ibushi and Neville, who never fail to disappoint. The end came down to those two, in fact. Neville hit "Red Arrow" on Evans, only to have Ibushi hit the "Phoenix Splash" on top of Neville and Evans from the adjacent corner. Neville rolled off, clutching his back, as Ibushi made the cover on Evans for the three. At the same time, Angelico was hitting a "Plancha" to the outside, taking out the other combatants.
Winners = Kota Ibushi & Angelico by pinfall in 15:08
Regal: "What a match! And, what a win for Kota Ibushi and Angelico!"
Ranallo: "The least experienced team in the match prevail thanks to quick thinking and their high flying expertise!"
Cornette: "All I saw was Adrian Neville get jobbed out of a victory because Kota Ibushi snuck in the back door!"
Regal: "Regardless, Kota Ibushi and Angelico are the new number one contenders to the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship."
Just then, "Moustache Mountain's" music hit to a roar from the crowd. They came out to the entrance ramp applauding the match. They then held their championship belts high and posed for Ibushi and Angelico to see.
Regal: "The die has been cast! Fans, we need to take a break. When we return, the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship will be defended! Stay with us!"
Regal: "We're back! Before we go to our next exciting match, we wanted to bring you to a special sit-down interview conducted earlier today with AJ Lee, wife of CM Punk and member of 'The Richards Collective.' 'SoCal' Val asked her about the events that transpired last week, where Punk lost to AJ herself and has been exiled for one year. Let's get her take on everything."
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with AJ Lee, who last week was sent out to face her own husband in a 'Steel Cage' match to determine his fate in the company. As we all saw, Punk forced AJ to pin him and is now gone from NWA: Show Time for a period of one year. AJ, share with me your thoughts as you sit here today and reflect on the events of the past week."
AJ Lee: "Well, to say that I'm conflicted would be an understatement. I was upset initially that Jordan Richards was sending me out to face my own husband in a match where his career in this company was at stake. But, I also understood that Jordan had been backed into a corner by Phil. I tried to protect my husband. I did. I begged him not to push 'The Richards Collective,' that it would be a detriment to his career. But, you know CM Punk. When he believes something, he can't be convinced otherwise. When you push Jordan Richards, this is what happens. He takes care of problems. That's why he's in the position he's in. But, it's not all bad. I did convince Jordan to allow Phil to work elsewhere for a couple of months. In the meantime, we'll see if an agreement can be reached by both parties. I want my husband back in NWA: Show Time. I just wish he'd leave well enough alone."
Wyndham: "What were your thoughts heading into that match last week, knowing what was on the line for your husband, but also knowing you were being sent into a 'Steel Cage' match against a man?"
Lee: "I was very trepidatious. In fact, I tried to get Jordan to pick someone else, anyone else. But, he knew what he was doing. Jordan wanted CM Punk to lose. He knew the best way to ensure that was to send me out against him. Jordan also knew that Phil wouldn't actually wrestle his wife. He predicted exactly what would happen, that Phil would lay down for me. Listen, I didn't want my husband to lose or be suspended, but I was sent out to do a job and I did it."
Wyndham: "So, is that the tradeoff with Jordan Richards? You are in his group, a made woman, but you have to do his bidding no matter what?"
Lee: "It was the same with Vince McMahon. Why should it be any different with Jordan Richards? But, it is different with Jordan. I'm taken seriously with him. I wasn't with Vince."
Wyndham: "Fair enough. But, you have to admit, this is such a strange dichotomy. I mean, you're married to CM Punk, the arch nemesis of Jordan Richards' group, yet you join that same group. I know you've said all along that it was a business decision and that it had nothing to do with Punk, but the bottom line is that you and Ricochet walked away from a partnership with him to join his hated adversaries. That had to put a strain on your marriage, did it not?"
Lee: "No, not really. I mean sure, Phil was upset at first. He was very upset, in fact. But, I explained myself to him. Listen, my love for Phil Brooks the man has not and will not change. I adore him. But, what AJ Lee did was make a very sound business decision for myself and my family. When you are part of 'The Richards Collective,' you are very well compensated for your services...very well compensated. I make more as valet than I ever did as a full-time wrestler in the WWE, and I was their Divas Champion. Jordan Richards made me and Ricochet offers we couldn't refuse. Besides, I march to the beat of my own drum. Phil gets it. He doesn't like it, but he gets it. He forgave me. I can't say the same for Trevor (Ricochet) unfortunately, but he forgave his wife. We're fine."
Wyndham: "We've seen that CM Punk has already taken advantage of the contingency he was granted and has signed a short term deal with WILD. He's still under contract to NWA: Show Time, so the company gets ten percent of his proceeds, but he's still wrestling and has already made a splash in that company. How does that make you feel?"
Lee: "I'm ecstatic! He's killing it over there! And, he's not just sitting at home going stir crazy! That's why I approached Jordan and asked for this. Whether Jordan likes Phil or not personally, he knows he's a huge draw as a talent and he's genuinely one of the best in the business. The only reason he wanted CM Punk gone is because he's a nuisance to 'The Richards Collective.' Plain and simple. CM Punk gear is still flying off the shelves at live events. So, I wish my husband all the best during this time."
Wyndham: "Are you worried that Punk might find greener pastures in WILD and look to sign there full-time once his contract with NWA: Show Time expires?"
Lee: "Of course not! He wouldn't leave me, and I'm not going anywhere. He'll be back. I know Jordan said he's willing to let his deal expire and not resign him, but I know better."
Wyndham: "This has been a very interesting conversation. Thank you for your time, AJ."
Lee: "Of course. I'm glad to have the platform to explain it all to the world."
Wyndham: "Back to you, William."
Regal: "Very interesting words from AJ Lee."
Ranallo: "I'd say very delusional words from AJ Lee, if she thinks that CM Punk isn't ticked by her betrayal."
Cornette: "Hey! It was just business! Why doesn't anyone get it?!"
Regal: "We'll agree to disagree. Let's go to the ring for our Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship match!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship ~ "War Machine" ("WarBeard" Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe) vs. "The New Face of Fear" (Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe with "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt and "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis)
This did not take long to develop into a slugfest. In fact, all four men were brawling before the bell rang. Once order was restored, it didn't stay a traditional tag team match for long. "War Machine" fought hard to keep Bray Wyatt and his henchmen from adding to their title collection. Ultimately, Raymond hit "Death Rowe" on Wolfe and looked to have it sewn up for his team. Suddenly, "The Richards Collective" hit the ring and destroyed both teams. The referee called for the bell.
Winners = no contest in 14:43
Regal: "What a sneak attack from 'The Richards Collective!'"
They continued to decimate the combatants. Bray Wyatt summoned Erick Rowan, but they too felt the wrath. "The Richards Collective" stood tall in the wake of their carnage.
Regal: "They ruined an otherwise great match with blatant interference, and for what? To prove a point? Fans, we'll take a commercial break. We'll be back with our main event next!"
Regal: "We're back! The Tag Team Championship will be on the line, as 'Sons of Steel' will take on their former stable mates in 'The Revival!' This should be an instant classic!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette vs. "Sons of Steel" (Boomer Payne & Brice Anthony)
This match lived up to the billing of instant classic. Both teams are old school to the bone and their in ring mentality shows it. They isolate the ring and subdue their opponents. This worked on both sides of the ring. "SoS" was cooking early on. "The Revival" Finally caught Boomer and kept him inside the ring for quite some time. He endured much punishment as Brice stood on the apron begging his partner for a tag. Dash and Dawson masterfully cut the ring in half. Payne was fading and it looked like he'd be easy pickings at various points, but the Pittsburgh native showed his intestinal fortitude in spades by hanging on. He finally made an exhausted lunge toward his corner and slapped the outstretched fingertips of Anthony, who relished the opportunity to inflict some pain on his former friends. He knocked each opponent down individually, then took them both out with a "Double Clothesline." Payne became energized seeing his partner go to work. The match erupted into a four-way melee at the end. Chaos abounded as the referee tried to gain control. As the referee was trying to get Dash and Payne out of the ring, Jim Cornette threw his tennis racket into Dawson. Scott took a home run cut, but Anthony ducked, then nailed a kick to the gut. Dawson dropped the racket and Brice picked it up, teeing off on Scott's head. He then threw the racket out of the ring as Cornette jumped up and down in a temper tantrum. The referee turned around to Anthony covering a prone Dawson. Payne kept Dash from making the save.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Tag team Champions = "Sons of Steel" by pinfall in 25:56
Regal: "We have new champions!"
Ranallo: "The first team ever to capture tag team gold in this company has just done it for an unprecedented third time!"
Regal: "what a finish! The attempted interference of Jim Cornette's infamous tennis racket backfired and cost his team the titles! Jimmy is beside himself! Fans, we're out of time. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! Don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com for After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and an irate Jim Cornette, theis is William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley raved about the main event, extolling the virtues of "Sons of Steel," who broke in on the conversation. Brice Anthony said it's about time "The Forgotten Sons" be featured on Show Time television and that it was a sign of things to come. Boomer was still exhausted, but said that, "We've been here from the beginning and it's all coming back around full circle." They left the set to celebrate. Kelley discussed the tag team division as a whole, referencing the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team championship match that was marred with interference. She even talked about the Cruiserweight tag teams, which led her into a soliloquy about the new partnership between Joanna Rose and "Euro Trash." Kelley speculated that Rose might be just what the doctor ordered. With that, she signed off.
