Before the traditional episode intro aired, the scene opened to backstage as Gunner, Jon Skyler, and Jason Justice arrived at the building. They encountered "Born Winner" Mike Madden on their way in.
Jon Skyler: "Michael Madden! It's been a while, sir! What have you been doing with yourself?"
Mike Madden: "I don't know if you saw it or not, but I parted ways with 'House of Truth.'"
Skyler: "Yes, we did hear mention of that. It's for the best. That is more like a house of cards than of truth. It was bound to be blown over eventually. But, a man needs friends in this business."
Madden: "I don't know. I seem to be a man without friends at the moment."
Skyler: "Nonsense. We all go back a long way. We've been in the ring against you and beside you over the years. It seems to me all of us are in the same boat. We were forgotten sons of 'The Broken Universe.' You are the forgotten son of 'House of Truth.' If we band together, no one will forget us ever again!"
Madden: "I'm listening."
Skyler: "Walk with us, Michael."
The quartet walked to the locker room together. After this, the episode intro aired.
William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Last week, we saw NWA: Stars & Stripes Heavyweight Champion Brian Cage invade our program and defeat The Rock in a mere thirteen seconds! The Rock has a response tonight in an exclusive interview."
Mauro Ranallo: "I think the collective public raised 'The People's Eyebrow' at The Rock for that loss in record time last week!"
Jim Cornette: "I've seen The Rock win them that quick, but never get thoroughly decimated like he did against Cage! He's gotta be embarrassed!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, also on the program tonight, the Usos with Scott Hall will battle 'Sons of Steel' for the right to face 'The Revival' in a future title shot! 'The New Face of Fear' is back this week and will take on the interesting team of 'War Machine' and CM Punk in our main event! We'll start things off with Deacon Sinn and Altar Boy Ichabod against 'Killer Elite Squad!' Let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ "Killer Elite Squad" (Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt) vs. "The New Church" (Deacon Sinn & Altar Boy Ichabod with The Sinister Minister and Sister Karen)
This was as one-sided a tag team match as we've seen on the program in quite some time. Sinn and Ichabod had nothing for "KES." Smith and Hoyt, who spend most of their time in Japan, decimated their smaller opponents, toying with them at times. The match ended mercifully after a "Killer Bomb."
Winners = "Killer Elite Squad" by pinfall in 8:48
Regal: "Wow! That was a brutal beat down!"
Ranallo: "'Killer Elite Squad' lived up to its name in that match!"
Cornette: "That's as impressive as I've seen them! Good win!"
After the match, Mikael Judas, Mordecai, and Skyler Moon came to the ring.
Mikael Judas: "There is a sickness within the 'church.' It has held back our growth. It's time to excommunicate it."
Judas and Mordecai laid into Sinn and Ichabod as Sister Karen looked on in shock. Moon leveled Karen with a "Clothesline" and dumped her out of the ring. Likewise, Sinn and Ichabod were thrown unceremoniously to the floor.
Regal: "It looks like Mikael Judas and Mordecai just took out Deacon Sinn and Altar Boy Ichabod! Sister Karen was dropped as well! They said it was an excommunication! Are they gone?! We'll have to see about that! Fans, we must take a commercial break. We'll be back with more tag team action in just a moment!"
When the program returned to air, the scene was backstage with "Sons of Steel" being beaten down by "Camp Cornette." They were left laying. After "Camp Cornette" walked off, Jon Skyler, Gunner, Jason Justice, and Mike Madden approached. The helped the duo to their feet.
Skyler: "Nothing good comes from being alone. You should have some friends watching your backs."
"Sons of Steel" were helped to the trainers room.
Regal: "Well, we were supposed to have that 'Number One Contenders' match next! That has been thrown in jeopardy with the attack of Boomer Payne and Brice Anthony! Jim, surely you were behind this!"
Cornette: "I have no idea what you mean! I'm out here on commentary! What happens in the back is out of my control!"
Ranallo: "A likely story, Jim! We've seen what depths you and your men will stoop to!"
Cornette: "Believe what you want!"
Just then, Jimmy and Jey Uso made their entrance with Scott Hall en tow.
Scott Hall: "Hey, yo! Now, we're supposed to be out here fighting for the number one contendership that we have earned already! We're the former champions and the best tag team in the company! Now, our opponents are hurt?! I say Ric Flair should give us that title shot right now!"
Cornette: "No! We're not ready for that!"
Regal: "Calm down, Jim!"
Just then, Bobby Roode's "Glorious" theme hit.
Bobby Roode: "Now, hold on just a minute! Don't put the cart before the horse, there Scottie! If the Usos really are the number one contenders, then they should have no problem winning a match!"
Jimmy Uso grabbed the microphone.
Jimmy Uso: "We ain't got no problem beating any team out there!"
Jey Uso chimed in.
Jey Uso: "Any team that wants to enter the 'Uso Penitentiary' is welcome!"
Roode: "I was hoping you'd say that. You see, I'm a jack of all trades. Not only am I an accomplished singles wrestler, but I'm a multi-time World Tag Team Champion."
Jimmy Uso: "Yeah, ten years ago! All you are now is a guy who lost the TV Title to a girl!"
Roode: "Yeah, that's cute. You can poke fun all you want, but I'm out here to issue a challenge. If you want to be the number one contenders, why don't you go through me and my partner?"
Jey Uso: "Okay! Who's it gonna be?! Brock Lesnar? The Rock? Adam Cole?!"
Roode: "No, no, no. All those would be fine tag team partners, but I have someone else in mind. I happen to have an old friend in the back visiting. being the man he is, he always has his gear with him. He's ready to go right now!"
Hall: "All right, Roode! Enough with the games! Who is he?!"
Roode: "See for yourself."
The tron lit up with the image of this man:
Though he did not show his face, he is so familiar to wrestling fans, everyone exploded at the image. He then uttered his infamous catchphrase: "Sorry about your d*** luck."
Regal: "Oh my!"
Ranallo: "Momma Mia!"
Cornette: "Holy crap! It's the 'Cowboy!'"
"Cowboy" James Storm came out to another big ovation.
This was a classic encounter. James Storm is in the best shape of his career. He and Roode looked as fluid as ever against the Usos, one of the finest tag teams of the last decade. This match was a titanic back-and-forth struggle between two teams that dictate pace exceptionally well. Storm endured massive amounts of punishment, as did Jey Uso. Both teams were dominant in spurts, but the neither pair claimed the lion's share of the offense. It came down to a subtle distraction. Maryse played her part at the most critical of moments. It looked like Bobby Roode was about to fall victim to a "Double Super Kick," but she tripped him. This ultimately led to him hitting the mat, but avoiding the move. James Storm came up on the other side of the ring and nailed Jimmy Uso with his "Last Call" ("Super Kick"). Storm covered while Roode held Jey's legs to prevent him from breaking up the pin.
Winners = "Beer Money" by pinfall in 22:14
Regal: "What a match!"
Ranallo: "Jimmy Uso's night was ended with 'Last Call' in a fantastic tag team battle!"
Cornette: "Maryse did as much to win that match as Roode and Storm did! Bobby Roode would have been dead to rights if she hadn't tripped him!"
Regal: "So Jim, 'The Revival's' number one contenders are one of the great tag teams of this generation!"
Cornette: "Yeah, but they'll be facing THE greatest tag team of this generation! Dash and Dawson have this one in the bag!"
Regal: "Fans, let's take another break. We'll be back with that exclusive interview from The Rock, as well as our huge six-man main event next!"
Regal: "We're back! As we promised, it's time to hear from The Rock after that disastrous showing last week. He sat down with 'SoCal' Val earlier today. Let's take you to that conversation right now."
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with The Rock. First of all, thank you for sitting down with me."
The Rock: "Well Valerie, The Rock has a very busy schedule, but he found a couple of minutes to squeeze in with you."
Wyndham: "Now, you know the line of questioning I'm going to have for you. It concerns the appearance of Brian Cage on our program last week. He laid out a challenge to Brock Lesnar, but you accepted and were defeated in thirteen seconds. First of all, why you and not Brock himself?"
Rock: "First of all, the reason The Rock decided to step up to Brian Cage instead of Brock Lesnar is because Cage was running his mouth about The Rock on Twitter! No one calls out The Rock! And, he called The Rock 'a Hollywood actor who occasionally wrestles!' The Rock is the most sought-after man in sports and entertainment! The Rock is the number one star in the world! So, The Rock decided to shut Brian Cage up himself! Brock Lesnar can have his day if he so chooses, but The Rock wanted a piece of Brian Cage first! Now, let The Rock address that whole thirteen-second match business. Do you or anyone else actually think that was a sanctioned match?! The Rock did not get defeated by Brian Cage last week! The Rock was cheated by Brian Cage last week! The Rock did not have time to prepare for that match! The Rock had not stretched! The Rock did not go through his pre-match ritual! No, no, no, Valerie! That wasn't a match. It was an exhibition! The Rock wasn't ready for a match! That didn't count!"
Wyndham: "An exhibition? Okay. well, the fact remains that Brian Cage pinned you thirteen seconds after the bell rang. I'm sure you're embarrassed by that."
Rock: "What in the blue h*** are you talking about?! The Rock has nothing to be embarrassed about! The Rock was taken advantage of! Brian Cage ambushed The Rock and got the drop on him! That's the only reason he pinned The Rock at all! The bottom line is that The Rock can beat Brian Cage in his sleep in a fair match!"
Wyndham: "So, does that mean you are challenging Brian Cage to a rematch?"
Rock: "What is this rematch business?! The Rock has already told you, last week was not a match! So, it doesn't count! But, Brian Cage does need to be taken down a notch or two! So, trust The Rock when he tells you that he will have his day against Brian Cage!"
Wyndham: "You heard it here first."
Regal: "It sure did sound to me like The Rock has a case of sour grapes."
Ranallo: "It sounds to me like he issued a vague challenge to Brian Cage!"
Cornette: "A vague challenge? What are you saying, Mauro, that The Rock is afraid of Brian Cage?!"
Ranallo: "Well, he sure didn't answer Val's question directly. That's all I'm saying."
Regal: "This has become a volatile situation very quickly. Only time will tell if The Rock and Brian Cage get back in the ring. Speaking of the ring, it's time for our colossal main event!"
Match Three ~ "The New Face of Fear" ("Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt, Killian Dain, & Alexander Wolfe with "Lost Sheep" Erick Rowan and "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis) vs. "War Machine" ("WarBeard" Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe) and CM Punk
This resembled a war zone much more than it did a traditional wrestling match. All six men were heavily involved in the fisticuffs. Kanellis and Rowan were involved and eventually were dismissed from ringside by Senior Referee Nick Patrick. They left under protest, but caused a big distraction in doing so. This led to a bit a trickery that decided the match. "War Machine," Wyatt, and Dain were outside the ring fighting. The referee was trying to regain control while also making sure Rowan and Kanellis left ringside. During this, Punk hit "GTS" on Wolfe. At the same time, Ricochet ran out of the crowd and hit an "Enziguiri" on Punk as he turned around. Wyatt had slipped into the ring as this was happening. The kick sent Punk straight into "Sister Abigail." The referee turned to see Wyatt hit the move, so he made the count.
Winners = "The New Face of Fear" by pinfall in 15:48
Regal: "There's another big win fro Bray Wyatt and his henchmen, who have been on quite a roll recently."
Ranallo: "With the assist from enemy Ricochet! I guess his hatred for CM Punk goes deeper than the vendetta against Bray and company!"
Cornette: "All I know is that CM Punk is finally getting everything he deserves!"
Regal: "Will you stop! Fans, this thing between CM Punk and Ricochet is coming to a head! I have a feeling they will meet again someday soon! We're out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! Don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com for After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley's first order of business was to talk about James Storm's triumphant return to wrestling with best friend Bobby Roode. Cathy was joined by them and Maryse Ouellet. Roode sung the praises of Storm and said that they were about to take the Tag Team Championship and the division would be represented by a team of class and dignity. Storm talked about how good it felt to be back in a ring in front of thousands, with millions watching on television. He guaranteed that every other tag team in the company would fall by the wayside in the wake of "Beer Money." Maryse said that, by her calculations, this move (bringing in Storm) was "best for business." With that, Kelley signed off.
