William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Men, tonight's the night! It's 'War Games!'"
Mauro Ranallo: "The blood feud has lead to what assuredly will be a blood-letting tonight!"
Jim Cornette: "This match harkens back to my heyday with Jim Crockett Promotions and none of these ten men will come out the same after it!"
Regal: "That match will take up most of the broadcast, but we do have a special treat to begin the episode! Kota Ibushi will be in action against Angelico in what should be a fantastic match-up! In fact, that match is next! Let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ Kota Ibushi with Abe Miho vs. Angelico
Ibushi paraded temporary valet Miho around in a set of sweats instead of allowing her to wear her normal skimpy outfit. She was none too pleased. However, she was subservient per the stipulations of her contract. She parted the ropes for Ibushi to enter, but he would not let her sachet around the ring, instead directing her to the floor. Angelico was looking to knock of a third big Cruiserweight name since joining the roster. Midway through the match, Jack Evans came to ringside to observe. This seemed to distract Ibushi. Evans sauntered over to Miho and began to flirt with her. Ibushi became even more distracted. Angelico seemed a bit annoyed by this as well and admonished Evans, asking, "What are you doing out her anyway?!" Evans backed off, stating, "I'm just watching a great match, dude." Evans eventually figured into the finish. Ibushi and Angelico were going at it and the referee was inadvertently struck in the eye. He dropped into the corner as the action continued. Ibushi nailed the "Phoenixplex" and looked to scale the ropes for his coup de grace, the "Phoenix Splash." As he leapt, Evans pulled Angelico out of harm's way. Ibushi went crashing to the mat, which caused a smile on Miho's face. Evans threw water into Angelico's face, which seemed to revive him. He then saw a groggy Ibushi trying to get up in the opposite corner and instinctually hit a "Flying Shure' Knee" to his face. Angelico quickly followed up with "Fall of the Angels" for the pin.
Winner = Angelico by pinfall in 15:08
Regal: "Fantastic match that was marred by the interference of the pest Jack Evans."
Ranallo: "Jack Evans had multiple fingers in the delectable pie that was that match! He sure made all the difference in the world!"
Cornette: "I don't quite know what to make of Jack Evans' fascination with Angelico, but it's bordering on stalking right now!"
After the match Evans, jumped into the ring and raised Angelico's hand. Ibushi recovered and shoved Evans, who blew it off and left the ring. Ibushi declined a handshake, unsure of Angelico's allegiance. Angelico was left in the ring by himself.
The scene quickly shifted to the back, where a cameraman had followed Evans. He was met by his "Worldwide Underground" brethren. Johnny Mundo confronted Jack.
Johnny Mundo: "Hey man, what gives?! Why are you obsessed with Angelico?!"
Evans: "I'm not obsessed! I'm impressed! Angelico is the real deal and he would fit in great with us! We're supposed to be running the Cruiserweight division and we haven't been anywhere near the top in months! We need a spark and I think Angelico can give us that!"
Mundo: "Bad call, man! He's not one of us!"
Angelico approached the group.
Angelico: "Jack, did you do something out there?!"
Evans: "All I did was watch a great match! Congrats, by the way! You beat Kota Ibushi, man!"
Angelico: "Yeah, but did I do it alone?!"
Mundo: "Nobody cares! Jack, let's get out of here, now!"
Evans left with the rest of "Worldwide Underground" while Angelico was left alone.
Regal: "Interesting developments are going on backstage, as you can see. Fans, we need to take a break. We will return with the explosive 'War Games' main event in just a moment!"
Regal: "We're back! Fans, before 'War Games' begins, let's hear a few words from both teams."
Joanna Rose: "I'm here with 'The New Face of Fear,' which is joined for this match by NWA: DFW star Brodie Lee, a former associate of Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. These five men are about to take on 'The Richards Collective' in 'War Games.' Would you care to share some thoughts?"
Bray Wyatt: "They say that death waits for no man. Well tonight, we're the death dealers! Jordan Richard will parade his corporate band of hired help to the ring against this, the embodiment of fear itself. Now, they are a worthy adversary, but there's one big difference between them and us. They do the bidding of someone who's only motivation is greed! We operate with a different motive, and that is to spread fear and destruction to all men who oppose us, especially those consumed by the greed of this world! We could care less about the almighty dollar, Jordan Richards. Our payment is the satisfaction in knowing that we will triumph over your cherry-picked stable of trained monkeys! Fear is coming. Run!"
Rose: "Back to you, William."
Regal: "Macabre words from Bray Wyatt. 'SoCal' Val is with 'The Richards Collective.'"
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm with 'The Richards Collective' and their rather large entourage."
The Rock: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Let me stop you right there, Valerie! Let The Rock correct you. What you meant to say is that you are here with the greatest collection of talent in the history of the business! And, the jabroni beating, pie eating, most electrifying man in the world, The Rock is about to go out here with his brothers in arms and lay the smack down on some candy a****! If you smell what The Rock is cooking!"
Adam Cole: "That's right, bay bay! 'The Richards Collective' is ready to destroy Bray Wyatt and his group of misfit toys inside that cage tonight! We are the best pro wrestlers in the world and we're about to go out there and prove it!"
Bobby Roode: "And when we do, it will be absolutely glorious!"
Ricochet: "They may be big and strong, but they can fall just like any other man. We're going to rain down on them as only we can!"
Wyndham: "Brock, any last words from you?"
Brock Lesnar sneered at the camera.
Brock Lesnar: "Bray Wyatt, you and your boys are about to go on a one-way trip to 'Suplex City,' b****!"
Wyndham: "There you have it. Back to you, William."
Regal: "Fans, the talking's done. Let's get to the action! It's time for 'War Games!'"
Match Two ~ "War Games" ~ "The Richards Collective" ("The Beast" Brock Lesnar, The Rock, Adam Cole, "Glorious" Bobby Roode, & Ricochet with Eve Torres, Britt Baker, Maryse Ouellet, and AJ Lee) vs. "The New Face of Fear" ("Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt, Brodie Lee {NWA: DFW}, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, & "Lost Sheep" Erick Rowan with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis, Priscilla Kelly, and "Zombie Girl" Maho Kurone)
"The New Face of Fear" came out with matching garb.
Fans were split down the middle, with dueling chants for both teams (a rare sound for two hated entities like these). The match began with Ricochet battling Alexander Wolfe. Ricochet used the stick-and-move method early on against his larger opponent. Once Wolfe got his hands on Ricochet, the tide turned. "TNFF" won the coin toss and sent in Lee, who dominated Ricochet. He and Wolfe really capitalized on the man advantage until Bobby Roode came in. It was even once again and those four fought to a stalemate. Killian Dain came in next and the momentum swung again. The Rock entered next and gave "The Richards Collective" some much needed size. Wyatt sent in Rowan as the fourth member of the team. The sheer size and girth of Wyatt's team was enough to give them the edge. The fact that they were a man up every other round gave them even more of an edge. Lesnar came in and cleaned house. He hit "German Suplexes" on every team member, then beckoned Bray Wyatt to enter the ring. Once Wyatt came in, Lesnar continued to dominate. They had a brawl in the center of one ring while everyone else jammed into the other ring. Most of the combatants were bleeding at this point in the match. Adam Cole was the last entrant, making the match official. Cole was saved for last after sustaining a minor arm injury last week. He was fairly unhampered. The match raged with all ten men for several more minutes. It began to look like the match might go all night. Then, an interesting development occurred. CM Punk came walking to the ring wearing a long black coat. He stalked around the ring, appearing to be looking for a moment to insert himself. He saw Ricochet climb to the top rope and he struck. Punk pulled a lead pipe out of his coat and jammed through the steel mesh, nailing Ricochet in the back of his left leg. Ricochet yelped in pain and fell off the top rope, landing awkwardly on the same left knee that had been hit moments earlier. As he writhed in the ring, Brodie Lee noticed it and ran over. He locked in a "Kneebar." Ricochet screamed out in agony. Lee cranked back on the hold, causing Ricochet to raised off the mat. With everyone else occupied by their opponents, Ricochet had no escape. He eventually had to tap out as Lee continued to crank down.
Winners = "The New Face of Fear" by submission in 42:19
After he struck Ricochet, Punk was seen arguing with his wife AJ Lee. He left ringside after uttering, "It's just business, baby!"
Ranallo: "His targeted attack on Ricochet's leg led to the 'Kneebar' finish, one of the most painful submissions in sports today! Punk certainly did help Bray Wyatt and company!"
Cornette: "Make no mistake about it! CM Punk was not out there to aid 'The New Face of Fear!' CM Punk was out there to aid CM Punk! He's a selfish S.O.B. and he just insinuated himself into a situation he had no business being a part of!"
Regal: "All I know is that CM Punk will have some explaining to do to his wife AJ Lee at home! So, 'The New Face of Fear' has won 'War Games!' What an episode it has been! Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! And, please log onto www.nwashowtime.com to catch After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley raved about "War Games," indicating that was the first one she's witnessed live. Kelley also extolled the valuable asset that was Brodie Lee, on loan from NWA: DFW for this match. Cathy did speculate as to the conclusion of the match had CM Punk not gotten involved. She noted that his interference led directly to the finish and is obvious revenge-getting for the betrayal he endured at the hands of Ricochet and AJ Lee. Kelley urged fans to tune in next week for the Show Time Power Hour before signing off.
