First off I like to thank you John Harding to allowing wrestlekingdom.boards.net to interview yourself.
I wonder if we could start off if you could tell the members of Wrestlekingdom members a little about yourself.
Which wrestlers have made an influence on your wrestling career?
The Rockers & Macho Man before I started my career, watched the old WWE pay per views before the Attitude era really got me hooked. Nowadays I look towards El Generico, Mick Foley and those who know how to get to the next level... Or have a screw lose
What do you consider as your wrestling highlight?
Tagging with Former WWE superstar Eugene this year. Did my debut at WAW in Norwich. Being trained by so many big names in the industry and working alongside TNA.
Can you tell us about a funny moment/botch that you have been part off?
There's a few and a couple can be found on YouTube. One was on Apr 15th 2009 we were doing the diving out of the ring spot, when it came to my turn I decided on a suicide dive where no one caught me. I bounced off the floor very hard and just managed to crawl away.
You are also the promoter and booker of Plymouth Wrestling Alliance, can you tell the members something about this wrestling promotion, its stars and details of your website
We are Devon's first wrestling promotion and have been going since Apr 2009. Our roster ranges from newbies to TNA Stars. We deliver great family entertainment suitable for all ages.
Who do you think is going to be the breakout star in PWA?
Eddie Ryan for sure, it's only a matter of time till he is back in the big leagues. PJ Jones is another guy to look out for, when given the chance he can be a big star.
What is your philosophies in the terms of your booking of PWA?
Quality over quantity and within budget
Do you find it hard to be a booker at the same time as an active wrestler for PWA?
Yes, there is a lot of running around involved and sometimes my matches can lack for that. You have so much on your plate and if you don't delegate or time your jobs properly then it's a disaster.
How do you book yourself?
I try not to but sometimes i have no choice and keep myself away from the title picture within PWA. My job is to promote great talent and not use it as a way to get myself over and look big.
What do you of the current state of wrestling in your area?
Currently it's thriving with great wrestling and some really great fans. A lot of hard work and effort has been put into it and glad of it. I hope it continues to grow so we can be recognised by promoters from across the country.
Now on 11th April you have a big fatal four way in Teignmouth for the Pride wrestling promotion where you will be facing Ultimo Dragon & Josha Knott & the former TNA World Champion Chris Sabin. Can you tell us how you feel in going into this huge match?
I'm over the moon and so humble, first tagging with Eugene and now going against Sabin. I appreciate it a lot when other promoters put their faith and trust in me. The fans are not going to be disappointed in Teignmouth.
Now I believe that you are organizing a wrestling convention, can you give us some more details about this?
Pro wrestling, TV/Film and Videos games convention. I wanted to mix it up a little as backstage passes would cause the kids within are fan base to stay up far too late to meet up with our guests so that's when I thought of the idea of hosting a convention.
Now this is the first time that a wrestling convention has been held in this area, what have you found the most challenging thing in getting this up and running.
Getting people to know we're doing one, it's on going with the advertising but we want to get as many people as we can through the door. It's a great opportunity to meet the TNA stars as well as the roster and other promotions across the southwest.
And finally what do see for the future of John Harding and PWA?
I'm currently recovering from minor back surgery but once that is done I'm back in the gym as I want to apply for WWE or TNA tryouts. The next level is where I really want to be at the moment. PWA i wish for it to grow bigger and bigger. Would love for the promotion to one day be the most recognised company in the the southwest then the whole of the UK... Tiny steps fist
