William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are the incomparable Mauro Ranallo and hall of famer Jim Cornette! Men, tonight's the night! The final match of the 'Mixed Match Challenge' is upon us!"
Mauro Ranallo: "And, momma mia is it going to be an epic clash?! 'Robe Warriors' versus 'Team Little Big,' with the winners getting the matches of their choice!"
Jim Cornette: "Who cares about that?! There's another tag match way more important than that one tonight! In fact, it should be the main event!"
Regal: "What Jim is referring to is the Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and 'The Revival,' where Dash and Dawson seek to become the first three-time champions in company history. That will be a dandy, along with our first match-up between Bray Wyatt and Donovan Dijak, where Bray's 'championship' is on the line. Let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ "Eater of Worlds Championship of the Universe" ~ "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis vs. Donovan Dijak with Truth Martini & "Hoopla Hotties" (Shotzi Blakkhartt, Zahra, & Dana Adiva)
Wyatt came to the ring in his typical ominous way.
He wasn't wearing his championship belt, however. Maria Kanellis was carrying it behind him with an evil grin on her face. Dijak was intimidated by Wyatt's presence and aura, though he is larger than the "champion." That's half the battle. Donovan never really got on track in this one. Wyatt ended it mercifully with "Sister Abigail."
Winner and STILL "Eater of Worlds Championship of the Universe" = Bray Wyatt by pinfall in 8:44
Regal: "That was an impressive 'title defense' by the man who had his own belt crafted for himself."
Ranallo: "Sanctioned or not, that 'championship' definitely means something to Bray Wyatt!"
Cornette: "Hey, if 'The Million-Dollar Man' can pay to have a belt man, why can't Bray Wyatt?! He may not be 'of this world,' but he sure knows how to spend this world's money!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, we'll take a break and be back with the Tag Team Championship match in just a moment!"
Regal: "We're back! Let's throw it over to 'SoCal' Val, who's backstage with our challengers 'The Revival' and manager Jim Cornette, who's already taken his leave from us."
Valerie Wyndham: "I am here with Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, collectively known as 'The Revival.'"
Cornette: "Let me stop you there, Val, and show you how a professional introduces a tag team! Ladies and gentlemen, from every man's nightmare and every woman's dream, twin sons of different mothers, the once and future Show Time Tag Team Champions, Dash and Dawson, 'The Revival!'"
Scott Dawson: "That's how it's done! Tonight, we take our rightful place back atop the tag team rankings!"
Dash Wilder: "We will be three-time champions before this night is over!"
Cornette: "That's right! Because what you're looking at is the most technically proficient team in the world, with the most technically proficient manager and my dear mama's rather large bank account! Together, we can't be stopped!"
Dash and Dawson: "Top guys out!"
Wyndham: "Well, there you have it. Back top you, William."
Regal: "Thank you, Valerie. Joanna Rose is with the champions in their locker room. Let's take you there now."
Joanna Rose: "I'm here with the Tag Team Champions, Jey and Jimmy Uso, and their manager Scott Hall. You are about to defend those championships against the team you defeated for them many months ago, 'The Revival.' Both teams know each other so well. How do find an advantage against them?"
Jimmy Uso: "Hey, we have a built in advantage over every team in this company and every team in the world right now! We've been down since day one! That's not just a cool t-shirt, that's real life!"
Jey Uso: "See, when you're twins, you're already inside each other's minds. We know what the other one is thinking before he says it! This 'Down Since Day One Ish' ain't just a catchphrase. Like my brother says, it's real life! 'The Revival' can't touch that! And, they about to get a dose of some prison justice in the Uso penitentiary!"
Scott Hall: "Hey, yo! Joanna, 'The Revival' is gonna get beat down from the hair down. Jimmy and Jey are always ready. Just sit back and watch."
Rose: "Back to you, William."
Regal: "Thank you, Joanna. Fans, it's time for some tag team action! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ Jimmy & Jey Uso with "The Bad Guy" Scott Hall vs. "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette
This was every bit the phenomenal match fans have come to expect from both of these teams. The Usos are explosive and utilize great tandem offense. "The Revival" might be the masters of ring generalship. Their timing and placement with one another are impeccable. They truly are a throwback to the old NWA teams of the seventies and eighties. As good as the match was, and it was great, it was not without some controversial moments. Jimmy Uso was run into the steel corner post, opening up a gash above his right eye. Scott Hall retaliated by "Chokeslamming" Dash onto the floor. Of course, these instances were all outside the referee's view. Otherwise, the match would have been thrown out. Cornette tried to get involved several times, but was kept at bay by Scott Hall. However, one instance where Cornette came into play toward the end was when he jabbed his tennis racket into the throat of Jey Uso. After that, Scott Hall chased him around the ring, finally catching him and laying him out with a "Discus Punch." Cornette's racket flew sky high and into the ring. At the same time, the referee got knocked down. Jey stole the racket from Dawson and blasted him with it. He made the cover, but the referee was too shaken to make a count. Meanwhile, Dash dumped a bloody Jimmy to the floor and waylaid Jey in the back of the head with the racket. He rolled his still dazed Dawson onto Jey and roused the referee, who made the groggy count as Hall was checking on Jimmy.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions = "The Revival" by pinfall in 30:21
Regal: "Well, they pulled it off! 'The Revival' are the three-time champions, but not without a huge assist from that tennis racket!"
Ranallo: "With so much controversy in that one, it was hard to know which team was better. In the end though, 'The Revival' will walk away with the spoils of war!"
Cornette was dazed and confused and had to be carried to the back by his charges. "Sons of Steel" and "The Insurgence" came out to join the celebration.
Regal: "Fans, we have to take a break. The finals of the 'Mixed Match Challenge' is next! Stay with us!"
Regal: "We're back! as we saw on last week's episode, perennial champion CM Punk captured the Mid-Atlantic Championship in a tournament final in Tampa, Florida. He and wife AJ Lee will be on the program next week in action. Here are a few words from the new champion."
CM Punk: "Well, I guess the world knows what happened in sunny Tampa last Saturday night. 'The Best in the World' proved it once again by outlasting seven other men to capture this (points to the championship draped over his shoulder). I plan to hold this for a very long time, and I also plan to hold it with dignity as a fighting champion. Come one, come all. I refuse no challenge. And, it starts next week."
Regal: " Interesting words from CM Punk, who will be here as a champion next week. Well folks, it's main event time! Fans, we've watched this tournament unfold for several weeks, with the upstart pairing of Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman, who have surprised us all by navigating their way to the final match. On the other side, Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair have been the odds on favorites since the beginning. These two teams couldn't be more opposite. Two thoroughbreds with heritage and prestige versus what looks, on paper, like wrestling's odd couple. Our interest is peaked. The crowd is hot. Let's get it started!"
Just before they made their entrance, this aired:
Match Three ~ "Show Time Femme Fatales Mixed Match Challenge" ~ "Robe Warriors" ("Glorious" Bobby Roode & Charlotte Flair) vs. "Team Little Big" ("The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman & "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss)
The CEO and Commissioner were on hand for this one.
Clearly, they were ready to give their corporate team the win. It looked for a while like it might end up that way. Once again, Bliss was isolated and took tremendous punishment from Charlotte. The bigger and stronger Flair dissected Alexa. Roode was happy to cheer his partner on. Of course, he knew if a tag was made, he'd have to tangle with the huge Strowman. Charlotte was all too happy to put the boots to her former friend and protégé. from somewhere down deep, Bliss mustered the fortitude to keep fighting. She finally made a comeback by hitting a "Running Dropkick" that catapulted Charlotte across the ring. Alexa inched her way to Braun as Charlotte scurried over to stop her. Alexa kicked Charlotte away and lunged at Braun with her last ounce of strength, fignertipping him for the tag as the building exploded. Braun immediately went to work, flipping the cowering Roode over the top rope and hammering him. The once gleeful faces of Ric Flair and Jordan Richards turned concerned in a hurry. Roode tried to stop Braun's momentum, but he was not to be denied. He scooped Roode up for the "Running Powerslam." Charlotte jumped in and pulled Roode off Strowman's back. Bliss leapt at Charlotte and took her down with a "Thesz Press." Roode took the opportunity to strike during the diversion. He nailed a low blow on Strowman that stopped him in his tracks. Roode then confidently went for the "Glorious" DDT. As he attempted to sit down on it, Strowman didn't budge. Roode's eyes grew as large as saucers as Braun stood up with Roode still attached to him. Braun swung Bobby over his shoulder and snapped him down with a thunderous "Powerslam" for the win.
Winners = "Team Little Big" by pinfall in 12:39
Regal: "What an upset! 'Team Little Big' has done it! They are the 'Mixed Match Challenge' winners!"
Ranallo: "The mighty mite Alexa Bliss and the gargantuan Braun Strowman have just earned the biggest victory in their careers to date!"
Regal: "And now, they will have the power to pick the matches they each want! What a position of power! Hopefully, we'll be hearing soon what exact matches they'll be putting themselves in! Fans, we're almost out of time. Please join us again next Tuesday on TNT for more of the Show Time Power Hour! And, please don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com for After Buzz with Cathy Kelley! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
As the episode went off the air, Strowman had Bliss on his shoulder and paraded around the ring.
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley put over the entire tournament, extoling all involved, and celebrating "Team Little Big" as the winners. After speculating the types of matches Bliss and Strowman had at their disposal to requests, Kelley signed off with, "We'll see what these two have up their sleeves."
