January 3

Match 1: Manny Fernandez vs Ricky Morton

Fernandez is one half of the World Tag Team Champs along with Rick Rude in this match. Morton starts off well, playing to the crowd. Soon Fernandez takes control, and hammers Morton through most of the match. Manny's partner Rick Rude comes out and lends some assistance, but eventually gets Manny DQ'd when they're caught double teaming Morton. Morton wins the match by DQ.

Promo: Nikita Koloff/The Road Warriors

TV Interview: Dusty Rhodes

Dusty talks about how Ole Anderson had said he was gonna put him out of wrestling in 1986, but he didn't. Well now he promises that Ole Anderson...1987 will be your last year in Wrestling!

Match 2: Barry Windham vs Shaska

Shaska makes a bit of a match of it with good, old roughhouse tactics, but Windham is able to get the win with a Sunset Flip finish. Windham was one half of the U.S. Tag Team Champions with Ronnie Garvin in this bout.

TV Interview: Ric Flair (In Lakers training Gear)

Flair talks about how his good friend James Worthy (one of the Lakers players) sent him these training clothes not YOU Dusty Rhodes, not YOU Barry Windham, not YOU Ronnie Garvin, but ME Ric Flair because I'm the WORLD CHAMPION!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Might not be word for word, but that's the gist of it lol.

TV Interview: Ole and Arn Anderson

Ole talks about how he or Dusty...one of 'em's gonna be done this year! One of 'em is sure gonna be done! Arn meanwhile talks about how he doesn't have a belt right now...he's naked, and he can't stand it!!!!

Match 3: Jimmy Valiant vs Bill Dundee

Valiant tosses Dundee arounds, and roughs him up early playing to the crowd a lot. Dundee is accompanied by Barbarian, who ultimately winds up getting involved in the match. Barbarian jumps on the ring apron when Valiant applies a sleeper hold. Valiant throws Dundee into the Barbarian, and then rolls him up for the pin. He gets jumped after the match by Barbarian and Dundee, but got the win.

Wahoo wants you to know he's one of the Top 'Tenders, and he's gonna show ya!

Match 4: The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff vs The Four Horsemen

Match keeps going as the credits roll. A tease really as you don't get the full match, but it's fun to watch while it's on.

That one took place in the month of January 1987 too. It was the January 24 episode.

January 10

TV Interview: Jim Cornette with The Midnight Express and Big Bubba Rogers

Cornette rants on about how Bubba deserves the money and Crockett better be paying him the interest from that Bunkhouse Stampede, and he signs a contract for Bubba to meet Dusty Rhodes in the finals of the Bunkhouse Stampede

Match 1: Jimmy Valiant vs Ronnie James

In a matter of seconds this match is over. Valiant rushes him, kicks the guy, whips him to the ropes, drops him with an elbow, and then an elbow drop gets the 1-2-3.

Match 2: The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey_ vs Gary Royal and Vernon Dean

This is one is fun. The Express dominate, Cornette talks shit all through the match, and demeans the opponents by reaching up and shaking their hands as their arms are hanging lifelessly out of the ring as they're getting pounded on by the Express, it's great. They toy with their overmatched opponents, and allow them to make tags before finally finishing them off with the Rocket Launcher and a cocky foot on the chest pin.

Match 3: Brad Armstrong vs Larry Stevens

Lots of headlocks from Armstrong through most of the match. Armstrong finishes Stevens off with a Russian Leg Sweep after a few minutes of back and forth action.

Match 4: Vladimir Petrov vs Tony Zane

"NIKITA I WANT YOU TO SEE WHAT THIS MAN THE RUSSIAN ASSASSIN IS GOING TO DO TO THIS OPPONENT!" Shouts Ivan Koloff before the match. Petrov is quickly DQ'd after Koloff interferes, and strikes the referee, but this match wasn't about winning. Petrov just wanted to send a message. Tony Zane technically wins the match by DQ, but he's stretchered off following the attack of Petrov so I'd say Petrov definitely sent his message to Nikita.

Match 5: Nikita Koloff vs David Isley

Koloff wants to respond to Petrov's message by sending a message of his own, which he does. Defeating Isley in very short order. Match is over within about 30 or 40 seconds. Koloff just rolls right over this guy.

TV Interview: Dusty Rhodes & Nikita Koloff/Ric Flair

Match 6: Barry Windham and Ronnie Garvin vs Thunderfoot 1 and 2

Windham & Garvin are the U.S. Tag Team Champs here, but their titles are not on the line. Not that it matters. They dominate the match, Windham gets the pin following the flying lariat.

TV Interview: Paul Jones, Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez/The Rock 'n Roll Express

Match 7: Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez vs The Mulkys (Bill and Randy)

Classic jobbers the Mulkys get their pale, anorexic asses whipped as they almost always did here by Rude and Manny. The Rock 'n Roll Express who are feuding with the Tag Team Champs run down to the ring afterward, and brawl with Rude and Manny as the episode comes to an end.

January 17

Match 1: Barry Windham vs Allan West

This one doesn't take long. Windham comes out and dominates West from the start, and finishes him with the flying lariat relatively early. David Crockett keeps incorrectly referring to Barry Windham as the U.S Heavyweight Champion, but he was actually one half of the U.S. Tag Champions with Ronnie Garvin.

TV Interview: Ronnie Garvin

Match 2: The Kansas Jayhawks (Dutch Mantell & Bobby Jaggers) vs Thunderfoot 1 & 2

Jaggers and Dutch make short work of the Thunderfoots. A Clothesline from Jagger results in the 1-2-3.

TV Interview: Paul Jones w/Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez

Match 3: The Rock 'n Roll Express vs Gary Royal & ?

I recognize Gary Royal here from another match where he got his ass kicked by the Midnight Express. I don't recognize his partner, and they never mention his name that I can hear so I can't identify him. Doesn't matter much anyway. It's a quick squash match. The Rock 'n Rock quickly nail the unknown jobber with a double drop kick, and get the pin.

Promo: Tully Blanchard/Paul Jones & Rick Rude (the difference between these and the TV interviews is that these are promos for local house show cards)

Match 4: Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez vs Jobbers

Again I don't catch the name of these jobbers, and the match don't go on long enough for it to matter. Rude works the arm over on one of the jobbers, tags in Manny who nails him with a flying forearm, and that's that.

TV Interview: Jim Cornette & The Midnight Express w/Big Bubba Rogers

TV Interview: Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen

A double whammy of awesome interviews there.

Match 5: Big Bubba Rogers vs Vernon Dean

Jim Cornette: DUSTY IT'S YOUR FUTURE!

Is Cornette's introduction for Big Bubba Rogers who comes out, and runs through this guy like a hot knife through butter. Dominant and easy win for Big Bubba.

TV Interview: Dusty Rhodes

Match 6: Ronnie Garvin vs Larry Stevens

Garvin dominates this jobber. Lots of chops, punches, kicks and slams, and then a big right hand from "Hands of Stone" Garvin for the win.

Promo: Ronnie Garvin

TV Interview: Barry Windham

Match 7: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard vs Tim Horner, Hector Guerrero and Denny Brown

The Horsemen are troubled at first by the young team, but get the upper hand on Brown, and work him over the rest of the match. After all 3 of the Horsemen get their shots in, Ric Flair gets in there and slaps the Figure 4 on Brown. The pain from the Figure 4 causes Brown's shoulders to drop to the mat for 3. WOOOOOO!

After this, Flair and Windham have a brawl that leads to a sort of impromptu match, but it doesn't last long as Tully and Arn intervene and break things up as soon as things get dicey for Flair.
