Before the typical program intro was aired, the scene opened in Jordan Richards' office, where he was sitting behind his desk when Karlee Perez walked in.
Karlee Perez: "How are you, boss?"
Jordan Richards: "Well, honestly, I'm a little nervous."
Perez: "What do you have to be nervous about?"
Richards: "This World Title match tonight. We have a prime opportunity to get the championship back around Brock's waist. But, there's too much to chance. Bray Wyatt's going to have his entire crew around. We'll take care of Ricochet, but Strowman and Rowan could ruin it. Who knows what Maria's going to be doing out there or if Priscilla Kelly will be in the building? We're already shorthanded. The Rock is away on a movie set for the next couple of weeks. Bobby Roode is on a promotional tour in Canada this week. 'Stone Cold' is filming 'Broken Skull Ranch.' All I have at my disposal is Adam Cole. The odds are against us!"
Perez: "Jordan, don't worry. I've taken the liberty to handle that situation."
Richards: "What do you mean?"
Perez: "I have an old friend. He's a former associate, a bounty hunter of sorts. I put a call into him a couple of days ago and arranged for his transport here. He's already on his way to the arena."
Richards: "Do you care to tell me who this bounty hunter is?"
Perez whispered into Richards' ear and a large grin came across his face.
Richards: "That'll do, Karlee. That'll do just fine. Well played."
Perez: "What did you expect? My job is to take care of your needs."
Richards: "And you do it very well. I think I can relax now."
The scene then faded into the traditional intro.
Michael Hayes: "It's gonna be a fight to the finish, daddy!"
Jim Cornette: "Mama is at home in Louisville watching this one tonight! I predict Brock Lesnar is going to ascend to the throne he never should have abdicated in the first place!"
Regal: "After last week, he looks poised to do just that! Fans, we only have two matches scheduled tonight to give plenty of time to that all-important contest. Before introducing our first match, I was instructed to call out our Commissioner and CEO to the ring. So, we're going to throw it up to Scarlett Bordeaux, who will do the honors."
Scarlett Bordeaux: "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Commissioner Ric Flair and CEO Jordan Richards."
Flair's music hit first to bring out the Commissioner. That was followed by "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva to bring out Richards.
Ric Flair: "Charlotte, North Carolina, it looks like Mr. Richards and I have brought you another top shelf card of wrestling, as we do every week! Woooo! But, before we go any further, our distinguished CEO has something to say."
Jordan Richards: "Thank you, Ric! Now then, CM Punk! You have done some dastardly things in your time with this company! First, you betrayed me! Then, you manipulated your way back into the ring! Finally, you stole the NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar! Well, now it's time to pay the piper! As you know, on December first, it was announced that you would be participating in the 'Diehard' Tournament. well, that was courtesy of me! I volunteered you to get your backside handed to you in a 'Deathmatch!' I told you not to cross the boss! Now, you're going to deal with the consequences! As for you, Ricochet, don't think I've forgotten that you helped Punk steal the title from Brock! You're about to pay the price right here and now when you take on the Dudleys in a 'Handicap Tables' match! Let's see if you live to fight another day! Now, Punk, you will get your shot at the World Championship here tonight. But, that's it for you! It's a one shot deal until you earn your way to the top of the line!"
Flair: "You heard the man! CM Punk, it's now or never! And, Ricochet, it's time to meet your fate right now! Woooo!"
With that, the two left the ring and the first match was introduced.
Match One ~ "Handicap Tables" match ~ "The Dudleys"--Bully Ray & D-Von vs. Ricochet
Ricochet was doomed from the start. The Dudleys are the masters of turning tables into offense. Ricochet dodged and moved as much as he could. He got in some of his innovative offense and it looked like he might escape intact. He knocked Bully out of the ring and had D-Von incapacitated on top of a table that had already been set up. He went to the top and called for his "630 Senton Splash." Before he could make his descent, however, Bully Ray recovered and shoved him off the top rope. Ricochet landed groin first on the top rope and collapsed to the mat from there. Bully revived D-Von as Ricochet struggled to get to his feet. As he stood up, he turned and walked into "3D," which sent him crashing face first through the table.
Winners = "The Dudleys" by table destruction in 9:03
Ricochet was knocked unconscious by the table, which was splintered all around his broken body. Trainers tended to him while "The Dudleys" posed in the ring.
Regal: "Well, I can't say that outcome surprises me."
Hayes: "No, but Ricochet hung in longer than most people probably thought he would!"
Cornette: "I say it serves him right for costing Lesnar the title! Well, at least Brock won't have to worry about him interfering in the main event!"
Regal: "No, I'd say he has been rendered a moot point as any possible assistance to CM Punk. Fans, we have to take a commercial break to clear the ring of debris and get set for our main event. We'll be back in a moment!"
Regal: "Fans, we're back and it appears we are ready for action! Let's go to the ring for this mammoth World Championship showdown!"
Match Two ~ NWA World Heavyweight Championship ~ "Three-Way Dance" ~ "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis vs. "The Beast" Brock Lesnar with Eve Torres vs. CM Punk with AJ Lee
The trajectory of the match was evident from the get-go. Brock Lesnar was the biggest threat. Thus, both Wyatt and Punk worked to effectively eliminate him from the match. They even worked together on occasion. Lesnar proved himself to be superhuman, withstanding an onslaught for the ages as he was put through the announce table, courtesy of a Strowman "Running Powerslam" on the outside. Adam Cole had already come to ringside and tried to fight off the efforts of Strowman, Erick Rowan, and Kanellis. Cole was even inadvertently aided by AJ Lee, who attempted to take out Kanellis. The numbers game was not enough, as "The New Face of Fear" seemed to be taking over the proceedings. Suddenly, the lights went dim and an ominous song blared over the PA system. Then, Karlee Perez led a masked figure in a business suit to the ring.
Perez had a velour bag with her. Once she and the masked man got to ringside, she handed him the bag. He took out a vial of some sort of liquid and poured it on the bag. He then took the soaked bag and placed it across the nose of Rowan. Within seconds, Rowan was unconscious. Strowman saw this and ran for the masked man, who caught Strowman by the shoulder and hit a "Flatliner" on the floor. He then used the liquid-soaked bag on Strowman, knocking him out. The masked man then dragged Wyatt outside and hit him with a "Flatliner." The man cornered Punk, who had left the ring and readied himself for a fight. Punk lunged at the man and began wailing on him with rights and lefts. This drove the masked man back, but he seemed impervious to the blows. He snatched Punk up and hit a "Flatliner" on him as well. The masked man went over to help Cole rouse Lesnar and get him back into the ring. They finally got Brock into the ring and her covered Punk, who had been slid in as well. Punk miraculously kicked out at the last possible second. Bray recovered and went after Lesnar, looking for "Sister Abigail." Lesnar blocked it and scooped Wyatt up into an "F-5." Wyatt's brain was scrambled as he thudded on the mat. Lesnar made the cover. Just before the three, Punk dived in for the save. The masked man then pulled Punk out of the ring. Before he could attack, AJ Lee jumped on his back. He spun around with her draped all over him. He flung her to the floor, where she was pounced on by Eve Torres. Strowman and Rowan were awake and back to their senses. They went after the masked man and Cole, starting a brawl outside the ring. Punk darted back into the ring, where he "Dropkicked" Lesnar and sent him through the ropes. Punk then picked up a dazed Wyatt for "GTS." Just as he hit it, the lights went completely black. When they came back up, Punk was out and Wyatt was on top of him. Priscilla Kelly was seen running through the crowd with a barbed wire baseball bat in her hand. The referee made the count before Lesnar could break it up.
Winner and STILL NWA World Heavyweight Champion = Bray Wyatt by pinfall in 39:24
Lesnar was incensed after the pin. He dropped Wyatt with another "F-5," then did the same to Punk.
Regal: "That match was so chaotic, it was almost impossible to call. After multiple instances of outside interference, it would seem that Bray Wyatt survived thanks to an assist from Priscilla Kelly, who has escaped through the audience!"
Hayes: "That match had so many twists and turns, you'd think it was a NASCAR race!"
Cornette: "Brock Lesnar got robbed again! When is he going to catch a break?!"
Regal: "Brock Lesnar seemed to have the match won. That's for sure. But, everyone benefitted from some outside interference. This was a controversial mess! Fans, we've run out of time. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! As always, tune into www.nwashowtime.com for After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately after we sign-off here. For Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as scheduled.
Kelly discussed the controversial main event. She was interrupted by Commissioner Flair, who demanded that the NWA Board of Governors sign an immediate rematch and that Brock Lesnar get a fair chance at the championship without interference. He stated that he was going to CEO Jordan Richards to "get something done." Kelley then speculated on whether or not we'd see that rematch and conjectured as to CM Punk's status considering that Flair and Richards said earlier he would not receive any more World Championship opportunities. Kelley advised viewers to stay tuned to the website and NWA: Show Time programming for more updates. With that, she signed off.
