William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. Alongside me are Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette! we have a big-time rematch here this week!"
Michael Hayes: "Yep! Ricochet challenges Kota Ibushi for the Cruiserweight Championship that he lost last week! Jordan Richards said he better win it, or else!"
Jim Cornette: "I wouldn't want to be the unfortunate recipient of any 'or else' from Jordan Richards! You either get fired or get buried!"
Regal: "That remains to be seen! We will also see the number one contender to the Heavyweight Championship, Matt Riddle, in action! And, World Champion Bray Wyatt is here to start the program! Let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt (NWA World Heavyweight Champion) vs. Cody Hall with Scott Hall
Cody Hall has learned well from his legendary father. He competed well against the unpredictable Wyatt. Hall's size and athleticism avail him much in the ring. His time spent in Japan has developed his strong style, power based offense. Bray is the World Champion for a reason, however. He is cunning, clever, and very skilled. He eventually took over and ultimately reversed a "Razor's Edge" attempt into "Sister Abigail" for the pin.
Winner = Bray Wyatt by pinfall in 8:26
Immediately after the match, a hulking figure came stalking to the ring:
He stepped into the ring and took off his mask to reveal
brute Erick Rowan, who decimated Cody even further and leveled him with a massive "Chokeslam." Scott attempted to shield Cody from further damage, but was run out of the ring by Rowan. Wyatt knelt down in front of a fallen Hall and held out his arms while laughing maniacally.
Regal: "Fans, Erick Rowan has come out of nowhere! It looks like he might be the first disciple of Bray Wyatt!"
Hayes: "And, so it begins."
Cornette: "If this is the beginning of Bray Wyatt's 'New Face of Fear,' I wonder what destruction lies ahead!"
Regal: "Unfortunately, I don't think we'll have to wait long to find out. Fans, let's take a break."
Regal: "We're back! Fans, it's time for the all-important Cruiserweight Championship rematch between Kota Ibushi and Ricochet!"
The scene cut to backstage, where Jordan Richards, Maryse Ouellet, and Ricochet were preparing for his entrance.
Ricochet: "What do you mean she's not going out with me?!"
Jordan Richards: "I have business for her to attend to. Besides, you need to earn this victory and get that championship back! Last week, you and she weren't on the same page. Tonight, I'm taking that mistake off the table. Now, get out there and win!"
As Ricochet's music hit and he left for the ring, Richards put his arm around Maryse and led her away. He could be heard saying, "Maryse, I have someone I'd like you to meet."
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Championship ~ Kota Ibushi vs. "King of the Cruiserweights" Ricochet
Ricochet was fighting with a sense of desperation that was palpable. It was clear he felt the pressure from Jordan Richards to regain the Cruiserweight Championship. He pulled out all the stops and performed maneuvers we haven't seen from him in quite some time. Ibushi was up to the task, taking everything Ricochet threw at him. Although, Ibushi did not dominate this match as he had last week's, he did remain resilient throughout. Ricochet tried to finish it with his "Benydriller," but Ibushi escaped it and hit a "Shotgun Drokick." He quickly bounded up the ropes and landed the "Phoenix Splash" for the win.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Champion = Kota Ibushi by pinfall in 19:14
Regal: "Oh my! This is not going to sit well with Jordan Richards!"
Richards came stomping down the aisle with a scowl on his face.
Richards: "I told you to win that title back, or else! Ricochet, you are a quality hand and a fine talent, but you're not exactly up to the standard I hold for 'The Richards Collective!' I had a feeling you'd fail me, so I initiated a 'Plan B!' In fact, I'd like you to meet your replacement!"
Suddenly, this entrance theme played on the tron:
"Glorious" Bobby Roode came out dressed in a suit, with Maryse Ouellet on his arm.
Richards: "Hit the bricks, little man! I've upgraded!"
Ricochet was left in the ring wondering what just happened. He was wide eyed and stared into the crowd.
Regal: "I can't help but feel bad for Ricochet. He was really put into a pressure situation. It was a 'no-win,' if you ask me."
Hayes: "Jordan Richards demanded immediate results, and Ricochet didn't come through. That's life in 'The Richards Collective.'"
Cornette: "If you ask me, Bobby Roode is the perfect man to take Ricochet's place in the group! He's class personified! Ricochet could never live up to that!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, we have to take a commercial. We'll be back with more in just a moment."
Regal: "Fans, we're back! Before we see him in action, let's go to Joanna Rose, who is with Matt Riddle backstage."
Joanna Rose: "I am here with Matt Riddle, the new number one contender to the Heavyweight Championship. You have called out Brock Lesnar on social media for months now. You claim you are the real MMA star and that you could retire him if given the chance."
Matt Riddle: "Bro, I am everything I've ever said I am and more! The world is getting the chance to see me walk into my destiny. I have earned the right to face Brock Lesnar. I only need one chance to prove to him that the 'King of Bros' is better than 'The Beast!'"
Rose: "Tonight, you'll face Tyler Bate in the main event. At twenty, he is well traveled and seasoned beyond his years. How do you combat his knowledge and ability?"
Riddle: "Tyler Bate is a bad hombre, bro. I have to be very calculated in how I deal with him. I've scouted him and I'm ready!"
Rose: "Good luck!"
Riddle: "Thanks, bro!"
Rose: "William, back to you."
Regal: "Matt Riddle seems confident heading into what promises to be a whale of a match! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Three ~ Matt Riddle with "Bonafide" Fred Yehi vs. Tyler Bate with "Moustache Mountain" Trent Seven
Before the match even began, Bate's second and "British String Style" partner Trent Seven got in Riddle's face a began to jaw with him. Riddle backed up and uncorked a "Front Kick" that nearly took Seven's head off. Bate got Trent out of the ring and the bell was rung. Unlike his stable mate, Tyler didn’t get KO’d in six seconds. He circled Riddle to prevent any such repeat. This was a measured contest, with Bate trying to out-wrestle Riddle in the opening stages. He actually had some success, until Riddle grabbed an arm and forced Bate to stretch for the bottom rope. What came next wasn’t exactly respite, as Bate got rocked with a forearm to the head, before Riddle chased him with "Palm Strikes" and more forearms. Riddle executed three "Gutwrench Suplexes" on Bate, rolling into each one in succession. Bate was able to withstand those and tried and get a "Fujiwara Armbar" on Riddle. Instead, Bate just stomped on the arm. Riddle goaded Bate as he launched in with kicks, before Bate stomped on Riddle's foot while he was preparing for a kick to the chest. Bate took control before Riddle countered a "Diving Uppercut" into a "Rear Naked Choke." Somehow, Tyler countered out into a "Tombstone Piledriver" that Riddle reversed. Bate reversed back into a Gotch-style "Tombstone Piledriver" for a near fall. They went back to striking, with Riddle and Bate exchanges stiff shots in center ring. Bate ducked under and hit a "German Suplex," only to see Riddle jump right back up and scream. Bate did the same thing again with the same result. He tried a third "German Suplex," but Riddle flipped flipping out of it. Riddle then nailed a "Bro to Sleep" and a "Bridging German Suplex" for a near fall of his own. There was another strike sequence that ended with an overhead kick from Riddle, who then hit a "Fisherman Buster" for a two-count. Riddle then rolled into a "Tombstone Slam" for yet another two-count. Bate bested the next strike exchange, only for Riddle to escape the "Tyler Driver '97" and smash Bate with a knee for another close count. Tyler rebounded with his "Tyler Driver '97," but Riddle was able to grab the bottom rope to stop the count. Bate dragged Riddle to center ring, where he looked to hit another "Tyler Driver '97" and finish the match. As he hoisted Matt up, Riddle snatched a "Triangle Choke." He held on with all his might. The freakishly strong Bate tried to break the hold, standing the entire time. He could not and eventually went down to his knees. Refusing to give up, Tyler fought until he lost consciousness, forcing the referee to call for the bell.
Winner = Matt Riddle by submission in 25:49
Regal: "Absolutely bloody phenomenal match!"
Hayes: "The best singles match we've seen on here in quite a while!"
Cornette: "Like 'em or not, Matt Riddle and Tyler Bate just put on a clinic!"
Regal: "We cannot say enough about either competitor! The crowd is giving both a well-deserved standing ovation! All I can say is that Riddle versus Lesnar is going to tear the house down! Fans, we are all out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired.
She spent her entire segment interviewing Bobby Roode, who gladly extoled his virtue and thanked Jordan Richards for "breaking the bank" to sign him. He promised that the future of NWA: Show Time and "The Richards Collective" would be absolutely...glorious! Kelley signed off with that.
