William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are my hall of fame co-hosts, Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette! Fellas, the locker room is getting more and more volatile!"
Michael Hayes: "Ever since Ric Flair sided with 'The Richards Collective,' the boys are getting more and more annoyed. They feel like they're being held down in favor of a select few."
Jim Cornette: "The bottom line is that the best cannot be ignored! That's what 'The Revival' will prove tonight when they lay down an open challenge!"
Regal: "I'm particularly interested in seeing who takes that challenge! So, you think your guys are ready for anyone?"
Cornette: "Absoultely! What a stupid question! 'The Revival' is the finest team on the planet! They're two parts 'Midnight Express' and one part 'Arn and Tully!' They cannot be touched in that ring!"
Regal: "That open challenge will be in addition to 'British Strong Style' battling 'The All-Americans' in six-man action, as well as 'Fire-n-Nice' taking on two free agents who used to work for NWA: Femme Fatales. That's all we know about them right now. So, without further adieu, let's get this hour started!"
Match One ~ "Fire-n-Nice"--Britt Baker & Chelsea Green with Eve Torres vs. a mystery team
"Fire-n-Nice" came to the ring amped up. They beckoned for their opponents, who were revealed to be former NWA: Femme Fatales roster members:
Hannah and Holly Blossom came to the ring to a good response. Fans were happy to see the British twins back in the ring. They have been on a long hiatus after being victims of the NWA-imposed roster cuts a while ago. It was obvious that the Blossom twins had been out of the ring, as they struggled to find the continuity and fluidity that their opponents share. One would suspect that was by design, a move made to showcase Baker and Green while giving them credible opponents who did not pose a massive threat (carefully selected due to ring rust). Baker and Green controlled the pace. Hannah and Holly got in some offense, as their teamwork began to improve over the course of the match. However, they still were no match for their counterparts. A "Double Superkick" to Hannah finished the match.
Winners = "Fire-n-Nice" by pinfall in 9:51
Regal: "Very predictable victory for 'Fire-n-Nice,' who hand selected a team they knew had not been in the ring for over a year."
Hayes: "Either way, they still got the win!"
Cornette: "Exactly! William, you're becoming a little biased and I, for one, don't think it looks good on you!"
Regal: "I simply understand why the locker room is getting upset! This match is a perfect microcosm of how things are going around here right now! You have a team specifically chosen to offer as fodder for another team. You have four women competing in a match for a company where no women's division exists, all because one of the girls is dating a member of 'The Richards Collection,' a group, might I add, that gets preferential treatment left and right by both the Commissioner and owner of the company! It's a travesty and it should stop!"
Cornette: "You're borderline insubordinate with that kind of talk, William! You'd better reign it in or you might be on the chopping block!"
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, we need to take a break. Back in a moment."
Regal: "Fans, we're back and we're ready for this big six-man tag team match! It should be very interesting!"
Match Two ~ "British Strong Style"--"Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, & Tyler Bate vs. "The All-Americans"--"Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle, and "American Alpha"--Jason Jordan & Chad Gable
This was a fantastic match. All six men showed why they are in this company. Chain wrestling of the highest order was on display. Gable and Jordan are insanely athletic. Angle proved he still has plenty of gas in the tank. Dunne, Seven, and Bate are on another level in terms of pure technical skill and grinding, submission based offense. Ultimately, the Brits used their brutal ways to secure victory, after "Bitter End" by Dunne onto Gable.
Winners = "British Strong Style" by pinfall in 17:38
Regal: "What an outstanding showing by my countrymen 'British Strong Style!'"
Hayes: "Hard-fought victory for Dunne, Seven, and Bate! They might be in line for a World Six-Man Tag Team Title match! If they ever get it, they should come and see me! I could give them plenty of advice on how to win those belts!"
Cornette: "Yeah, yeah, yeah! You were the founder of 'The Fabulous Freebirds!' You were the best six-man ever! We get it!"
Regal: "We'd better take another break while I separate these two! Stay with us!"
Regal: "we're back! Jim Cornette has left us to join 'The Revival' backstage. Joanna Rose is backstage with them all now. Joanna?"
Joanna Rose: "I'm here with Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, along with their advisor Jim Cornette. We understand that you will execute and open challenge for the main event tonight. You seem confident you'll win regardless of the opponent. How can you be that confident with not way to prepare for a specific opponent?"
Scott Dawson: "It's real simple. We are the best there is. When you're better than everyone else, no one else can really threaten you."
Dash Wilder: "We call ourselves 'top guys' for a reason. We are at the top of the food chain in tag team wrestling."
Cornette: "Joanna, what you are looking at is the supreme unit in all of professional wrestling! These two are finely tuned athletic machines. They're twin sons of different mothers who eat, breath, and sleep tag team wrestling. They don't just say they're the best. They go out there and prove it! Tonight will be no different. Boys, let's go!"
Wilder and Dawson: "'Top guys' out!"
Rose: "Back to you, William."
Regal: "Thank you, Joanna! It's time to put up or shut up! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Three ~ Open Challenge ~ "The Revival"--Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson with Jim Cornette vs. ?
"The Revival" came to the ring and began to call out the tag teams of NWA: Show Time. After a couple of minutes, "Reno Scum's" music to hit to bring out that group. As they were coming to the ring, they were attacked by "Sons of Steel." Boomer Payne and Brice Anthony laid waste to all three members of "Reno Scum," as Payne even dropped Christina Von Eerie with "Greetings from Asbury Park." "SoS" then marched to the ring and climbed through the ropes. They feel they've been slighted recently and it would seem they wished to accept the open challenge to prove something. Prove it they did. They went toe-to-toe with Dash and Dawson and took the offense to them. This was a marathon match that had fans on the edges of their seats. There were so many near falls, the crowd was breathless by the match's end. The battle was interrupted by "Reno Scum," which had recovered in the trainer's room and had come back out to the ring to seek revenge for the pre-match attack. Once they hit the ring, the referee immediately called for the bell.
Winners = no contest in 25:18
After the bell, "Sons of Steel" began to fight against "Reno Scum." Rather than leave the ring, Cornette implored his men to join the fight as well. They did, siding with Payn and Anthony in a beat down of Thornstow and Luster. After "Reno Scum" was dispatched, both remaining teams glared at each other. Before they came to blows, Cornette came into the ring and acted as the voice of reason. He spoke for several seconds to both teams. Then, inexplicably, they all left together.
Regal: "Did Jim Cornette just negotiate a partnership with 'Sons of Steel' right there in the ring?!"
Hayes: "It sure looks like it!"
Regal: "Fans, that is a very interesting development if that is the case! We're out of time for this hour! But, remember, immediately following this program, please tune into www.nwashowtime.com for the brand new program entitled, 'After Buzz' with Cathy Kelley! As always, please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! For Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying, ta ta for now!"
The debut episode "NWA: Show Time After Buzz" with Cathy Kelley
aired as scheduled. She interviewed both "The Revival" and "Sons of Steel," who confirmed they have created a partnership with advisor Jim Cornette. Cornette was ecstatic, claiming that he had two world-class teams under his tutelage at the same time for the first time in his career. Cornette further iterated that he would take both teams to the top. Kelley then let fans know the live event schedule for the next couple of weeks. Also announced was a big Labor Day spectacular that is scheduled for Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte. Matches scheduled include: Adam Cole & CM Punk against 'War Machine,' "Broken Universe' against "House of Truth," and Brock Lesnar against Kevin Steen. Kelley reminded everyone that the program will air immediately after the Show Time Power Hour every Tuesday, exclusively on www.nwashowtime.com.
