*OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM THE NWA BOARD OF GOVERNORS*

The NWA proudly presents the return of "The Great American Bash" to pay-per-view! The event, which began in 1985, was a staple of the NWA, and subsequently WCW, through the year 2000. After the WWE purchased WCW in 2001, it revived "The Great American Bash" from 2004-2009. The NWA Board of Governors voted unanimously to bring it back to the wrestling forefront once again. So, on Sunday, July 2, this extravaganza will emanate from the home of "Lady Liberty," New York! Met Life Stadium will host the event. A crowd of well over 80,000 is expected to pack the stadium for this monster card.

The following are results from the history-making event:

Match One ~ NWA: HAWK Young Guns Championship ~ Günter Schmid vs. “The Celtic Prince” David

Unlike their first encounter, which saw both men take a strike-based attack, David went with a much faster paced style. This caught Schmid off balance many times and got David several near falls. Schmid was not lacking in near falls himself, but was having a harder time with this more unorthodox David. The end of the match came when Schmid was setting up to hit a "Super Scottish Bomb," but David fought it off and maneuvered it into a second-rope "Celtic Cut." David did not go for the pin. Rather, he locked Schmid in the "Celtic Knot," putting his arm through to apply pressure instead of his foot (which is the standard application) and rolled back. Schimd fought the hold, but was forced to tap out.

Winner and NEW NWA: HAWK Young Guns Champion = “The Celtic Prince” David by submission in 15:02

Match Two ~ NWA: UHCW Heavyweight Championship ~ Zack Sabre, Jr. vs. Biff Busick

Busick is smash mouth, but Sabre can rough it up with the best of them. The European style lends itself to technical precision, brutal submissions, and stiff offense. This ended up being an evenly fought match-up, though Sabre looked like the clear favorite going in. He retained his championship, but not without a colossal effort. Busick actually caught Sabre with his "Single Leg Boston Crab." It almost looked as though Sabre would give up, but he cleverly grapevined his free leg around Busick's, tripping him forward enough to roll the move over and execute a "Jackknife Pin" for the win out of nowhere.

Winner and STILL NWA: UHCW Heavyweight Champion = Zack Sabre, Jr. by pinfall in 17:33

Match Three ~ WILD Symbol match ~ Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns

Roman was furious throughout the match and went on a brutal attack against Rhodes. The fans had a “Heiney Beat You” chant going that just made him Reigns even more aggressive. This did lead to Roman making mistakes in the match and allowed Rhodes to gain an advantage on several occasions. Rhodes was able to hit "Dark Matter" and the "Silver Spoon DDT," but only got a two-count from both moves. Roman was able to hit the "Spear" for a two-count as well. Roman was setting up for the "Superman Punch" as Pinkie Sanchez ran from backstage and hopped up on the ring apron. Roman connected with a "Superman Punch" on Pinkie, then positioned himself again. Rhodes dodged the punch and connected with "Cross Rhodes" for the three-count.

Winner = Cody Rhodes by pinfall in 10:46

Match Four ~ NWA: CMLL Super Junior Championship ~ 6-Way "Ladder" match (Inaugural Champion)~ Titan vs. Daga vs. Caristico vs. Xtreme Tiger vs. Atsushi Maruyama vs. David Starr

From a purely workrate standpoint, this was the match of the night. All six competitors shined throughout. There were several brutal and captivating sequences involving the ladder(s). One in particular saw Xtreme Tiger leap from a twenty-foot ladder erected inside the ring to all five other competitors on the floor with a "Corkscrew Senton Splash" that got a standing ovation. Tiger looked to secure the championship. He had his hands on it, but David Starr smacked him in the back with a steel chair. Starr then quickly ascended the ladder and grabbed the belt before anyone could stop him.

Winner and NEW NWA: CMLL Super Junior Champion = David Starr by title belt retrieval in 19:28

Match Five ~ NWA: Stars & Stripes Tag Team Championship ~ "Pretty Hate Machine" (Shiima Xion & Jason Gory) vs. "Perfect Destruction" (Brady Pierce & Jaxson James)

This was a battle of power versus speed. Xion and Gory tried to go for quick pins while using their feet on the ropes. The referee continually saw this and broke the attempted pinfalls. Of course, the challengers were no better, grabbing the ropes to hold a pin tighter. These underhanded tactics almost became comical, as, at one point, each team exchanged a series of pinfalls that involved pulling of tights, feet on ropes, and teammates grabbing through the ropes to help with pins. Gory and Xion got Pierce and James to the floor and dived onto them. Gory was going for a "Masochistic Healing," but James fought it off. Pierce ran in, then James and Pierce dropped Gory to the mat with a "2PD!" Xion tried to rush in, but was "Clotheslined" by Pierce as James got the three-count.

Match Six ~ 14-Man "Tag War" ~ No Disqualification, No Countout ~ There Must be a Winner ~ "Blood Generation" (CIMA, Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, Gamma, Shingo Takagi, Magnitude Kishiwada, & Naoki Tanisaki) vs. "The Rottweilers" (Homicide, Low-Ki, Ricky Reyes, Rocky Romero, Monsta Mack, Mafia, & B-Boy)

This match was cut from the same insane cloth we've come to expect from NWA: DFW. These two massive teams went at each other in such a way that ringside literally resembled a war zone. All fourteen men were blood-soaked by the ten-minute mark. The action began to spill to other parts of the arena, to the point that it went outside the stadium and into the New York streets. The referees were instructed by the NWA Board of Governors not to follow the competitors. The decision was made that, if the combatants made their way back into the arena, we'd have a conclusion decision. At that point, the NWA: BoG made the decision to continue the event without calling an official end to the match itself.

Match time halted at 20:14 with no conclusive winner

Match Seven ~ NWA: Show Time ~ Losing Faction Must Disband ~ "The Richards Collective" ("The Beast" Brock Lesnar, The Rock, & Adam Cole) with Britt Baker and Eve Torres vs. "The Power Trip" (CM Punk & "The Revival" {Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson}) with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and AJ Lee

This match was all kinds of chaotic. It was marred with interference from multiple parties, including "War Machine," Braun Strowman and Maria Kanellis, Britt Baker, and NWA: Show Time owner and CEO Jordan Richards, who handed his shoe to The Rock. The Rock quickly clocked Scott Dawson with it and threw it back to his boss. The Rock then hit "The People's Elbow" for the win.

Winners = "The Richards Collective" by pinfall in 23:51 ("The Power Trip" must disband)

Match Eight ~ NWA North American Cruiserweight Championship ~ Aerostar vs. Lucky Kid

Aerostar was on fire in this match, uncorking all of his lucha arsenal on Kid. Lucky, who's no slouch in his own right, seemed a step slower than Aerostar on this night. Aerostar won the match after his signature "Imploding 450 Splash."

Winner and STILL NWA: North American Cruiserweight Champion = Aerostar by pinfall in 14:39

Match Nine ~ NWA North American Heavyweight Championship ~ Eddie Kingston vs. Kota Ibushi

Eddie Kingston is a rough, tough, grizzled veteran. Kota Ibushi is a veteran in his own right, but he might be the most skilled wrestler on planet earth. Ibushi was on fire in this match. Kingston simply could not maintain the pace for much of the contest. Kingston did hit his "American D" as well as the "Backfist to the Future," but could not secure a pinfall against his Japanese foe. Ibushi hit some picture-perfect dives and continued his onslaught. he won the title with his trademark "Phoenix Plex."

Winner and NEW NWA: North American Heavyweight Champion = Kota Ibushi by pinfall in 16:09

Match Ten ~ NWA North American Tag Team Championship ~ "War Machine" (Hansen & Raymond "Death" Rowe) vs. "Poor Horsemen" (Trevor Lee & Andrew Everett) with Alexa Bliss

This was a fantastic tag team match that saw brilliant highlights from both teams. Hansen got the fans going with a "Spinkick of Doom" on Everett, while Rowe hit stereo "Uranage's" on Everett and Lee. The referee got knocked down toward the end of the match. Alexa Bliss interfered with a "Twisted Bliss" on Hansen. She scooted out of the ring and roused the referee as Lee made the cover. Hansen kicked out at one, which shocked everyone. Ultimately, "War Machine" hit "Fallout" on Everett. Hasnen covered. At two, Bliss put Everett's foot on the bottom rope to break the pinfall. Unfortunately for "Poor Horsemen," the referee caught that act out of the corner of his eye. He immediately rang the bell.

Winners and STILL NWA North American Tag Team Champions = "War Machine" by disqualification in 13:16

Match Eleven ~ NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship ~ Lio Rush vs. Kamaitachi with "Los Ingobernables de Japon" (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI, & EVIL)

Lio Rush has established himself as the best undersized wrestler in the world. He flies around the ring effortlessly, especially considering his relative inexperience in the sport. Kamaitachi is a member of the famed "Los Ingobernables de Japon" faction and was flanked by his compadres. Rush handled Kamaitachi's strong style offense well, sticking and moving. He finally hit "Rush Hour" for the win after Kamaitachi's failed "Time Bomb."

Winner and STILL NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion = Lio Rush by pinfall in 16:54

Match Thirteen ~ NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Championship ~ "Kings of Strong Style" (Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, & Shinsuke Nakamura) vs. "British Strong Style" ("Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, & Tyler Bate)

Two teams whose trademark "Strong Style" offenses are similar, yet different. The champions utilize more of an MMA move set, whereas the challengers employed more submission based, grinding offense. Nevertheless, this was the most hard-hitting match of the night. Everyone got some good licks in on their opponents. Finally, Nakamura leveled Seven with "Bomaye" for the win after an exhausting match.

Winners and STILL NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Champions = "Kings of Strong Style" by pinfall in 28:32

Match Fourteen ~ Winner Takes All ~ NWA World Women's Championship vs. NWA: Femme Fatales Women's Championship ~ NWA World Champion ~ Kairi Hojo vs. NWA: Femme Fatales Champion ~ Io Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better women's match this century. This was as good as Manami Toyota's classics with the likes of Kyoko Inoue or Aja Kong from the 1990's. Io Shirai is on another level athletically, as is Hojo. These are the two finest women's wrestlers in the entire world, bar none. They traded heavy shots and breathtaking offense. Hojo hit her vaunted "Flying Elbow Drop" in the waning seconds of the time limit, but could not cover fast enough. The bell sounded just after the two-count. After some deliberation, it was determined that the match would be declared a draw.

Winner = time limit draw in 30:00 (both women retain their championships)

Match Fifteen ~ NWA World Tag Team Championship ~ "The Broken Hardys" ("Broken" Matt & Brother Nero) with Reby Hardy vs. "Euro Trash" (Tommy End & "The Villain" Marty Scurll)

This match was ruled a no contest when members of "Blood Generation" and "The Rottweilers" crashed into ringside and resumed their match from earlier in the night.

Winners = no contest in 10:46 (Hardys retain the championship)

The "Tag war" ended after Prince Devitt came out and hit CIMA with "Coup de Grace," allowing Homicide to hit a "Frogsplash" for the pin.

Winners of "Tag War" = "The Rottweilers" by pinfall in a total match time of 27:40

Match Sixteen ~ NWA World Heavyweight Championship ~ "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt with "The Wyatt Family" vs. Alberto El Patron

The main event was everything we thought it would be and more. El Patron fought seemingly insurmountable odds with "The Wyatt Family" at ringside. He compensated by controlling the action. The end of the match was influenced by the numbers game, as El Patron fought off the interference of Priscilla Kelly and Frightmare with a "Step-up Enziguiri" that knocked both off the apron, much to the delight of the crowd. Unfortunately, El Patron turned around into "Sister Abigail."

Winner and STILL NWA World Heavyweight Champion = Bray Wyatt by pinfall in 21:54
