William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me is my hall of fame co-host, Michael Hayes! Michael, we've heard that Brock Lesnar is in the building and that he will be looking for Braun Strowman, no question!"
Michael Hayes: "It's going to be the irresistible force versus the immovable object when those two lock it up!"
Regal: "The question is, when will those two face off? Will it be today? Or, will Commissioner Ric Flair step in and make it official? Time will tell. Also, we're going to be seeing more from this 'New Church' that was introduced last week. what is there agenda and who will be their next 'convert?' This has the potential to be an explosive episode, so let's get to it!"
Match One ~ Jonathan Gresham vs. Solomon Crowe
This match was shaping up to be fantastic. This was the debut television match for Crowe. He and Gresham matched move for move. However, after three minutes, Braun Strowman ran in and destroyed both superstars.
Winner = no contest in 3:11
Strowman grabbed a microphone as officials got Gresham and Crowe out of the ring.
Braun Strowman: "Brock Lesnar! I heard you're in the building tonight! Get out here and take another beating, boy!"
Then, this happened:
Charlotte, North Carolina lost its mind. Brock Lesnar came out to a roar. He stalked to the ring. Strowman was pacing back and forth as Lesnar jumped from the floor to the apron. Just then, this entrance played:
Charlotte exploded again for NWA: Show Time Commissioner "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
Ric Flair: "Hold on just a minute, fellas. Now, I want to see this fight just as much as anyone. But, Brock has not been examined by our doctors yet, so he's not cleared to compete. Until the Show Time physician team gives the OK, I cannot let Brock into that ring legally."
Strowman: "That's a copout! He can go! He's just hiding behind you, Flair! Brock Lesnar is afraid of 'The Monster Among Men!'"
Lesnar got into the ring and went nose-to-nose with Strowman. The crowd was on its feet at this point. Flair quickly called Security out to separate the two behemoths. Then, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva played to bring out CEO (and manager of Lesnar), Jordan Richards.
Jordan Richards: "Like it or not, Brock, Ric is right. You have not been cleared to compete as of yet. However, I've dispatched our lead physician over to take a look at you. Ric, how about this? If our doc clears Brock, will you sign this one-on-one match for tonight?"
Flair: "I have no problem with that. I think the whole world wants to watch these two beat each other up."
Richards: "Give us thirty minutes and you'll have an answer."
Flair: "Done. Security, escort these two men out of the ring. I've got a show to keep rolling!"
Regal: "What a potential main event match we have! If Brock Lesnar is cleared to wrestle, we'll see him go one-on-one with Braun Strowman here tonight! Fans, let's take a commercial break. We'll be back with more in just a moment!"
Regal: "We're back. During the break, we were told that the physician is here and has begun his protocols with Brock Lesnar. For now, let's go back to the ring!"
Match Two ~ "Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin with Veda Scott vs. "Universal Soldier" Gunner
Gunner has been on his own since Kurt Angle took up with "American Alpha." He's been out of sorts. Benjamin exploited that with technical precision. Gunner fought hard, as he always does. But, he just was not on his game. Benjamin finished him off with a "Springboard Shooting Star Press."
Winner = Shelton Benjamin by pinfall in 9:23
Regal: "Benjamin looked sharp, but Gunner was off kilter the entire match."
Hayes: "That's unlike him. Gunner is usually well prepared."
Just then, this entrance theme played:
"The Broken Hardys" came to ringside and beckoned Gunner. He walked trepidatiously toward them, almost entranced by their music. "Broken" matt could be heard yelling, "Yes! Join the 'Broken Universe,' my troubled soul! You will find a home! Come, 'Soldier of the Universe!'"
Regal: "Are we seeing 'The Broken Hardys' steal one of our talents?"
Hayes: "They said they were recruiting for their 'Broken Universe.' I guess this may be the start."
Gunner left with "The Broken Hardys" as fans buzzed with confusion.
Regal: "Fans, let's take another break."
Regal: "We're back. The lovely Joanna Rose has The Sinister Minister and his 'church' standing by."
Joanna Rose: "I'm here with The Sinister Minister and his band of followers. Can you tell what your agenda here is?"
The Sinister Minister: "First of all, allow me to introduce 'The New Church.' Our membership roll includes Mordecai the Zealot, Sinn, Pagano, Ichabod, and Karen Kreep. Now, understand one thing. These instruments of judgment are not following me. For you see, we all look to a higher authority."
Rose: "So, you're saying that someone has you on assignment? Who?"
Minister: "Not on assignment, but on a mission. Ours is a call to purge this body of its unnecessary appendages."
Rose: "This body? Are you referring to NWA: Show Time?"
Minister: "Label it what you wish. The fact of the matter remains that we have been commissioned to pass judgment on those deemed unworthy."
Rose: "Unworthy by whose standards?"
Minister: "Why, the higher authority, of course."
Rose: "I see. You still have not answered the question as to whom this higher authority is."
Minister: "Precisely. And, I shan't. The time for revelation draws nigh. But, not today. We must steal away, young Joanna. We have much work to do."
Rose: "Well, I'm not sure what that was all about, but there you have it. Back to you, William."
Regal: "Thank you, Joanna. That was a strange interview, indeed."
Hayes: "Yeah. Those guys give me the creeps."
Regal: "No pun intended, I'm sure. Let's go back to the ring for our next match, which will feature the Mid-Atlantic Championship on the line!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas with "The Enchantress" Skyler Moon vs. Idol Stevens with Lisa Varon
Judas was dominant in this one. Stevens had a couple of outbursts, but they were quickly squelched by the champion. essentially, Judas turned this into a sustained beating at Moon's behest. He leveled Stevens with "El Crucifejo" to finish it.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Mikael Judas by pinfall in 9:34
Regal: "Impressive and dominating performance by someone we've grown accustomed to seeing them from."
Hayes: "He beat the hide off Idol Stevens."
The Sinister Minister led out "The New Church," which surrounded the ring. Judas and Moon stood in center ring and surveyed their observers. Suddenly, the four cornerposts shot fire from their tops, as The Sinister Minister laughed maniacally.
Regal: "Are we seeing 'The New Church's' next target?"
Hayes: "It looks like it. God help Mikael Judas."
Regal: "Indeed. Let's take a commercial break."
Regal: "We're back. It's time for the verdict from the physician concerning Brock Lesnar. Let's go to 'SoCal' Val, who is with Commissioner Ric Flair."
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with our Commissioner, Ric Flair. Ric, have you heard from the physician concerning the health of Brock Lesnar? Is he cleared?"
Flair: "I did speak with the company doc. He did a thorough assessment of Brock Lesnar's overall health and ability to compete. He told me that Brock passed all preliminary testing. He feels that Brock should sit out another week, but he has no reason medically to sideline him. So, Brock is cleared and we will have the main event match between he and Braun Strowman."
Wyndham: "You heard it here! Brock Lesnar is cleared to compete!"
Regal: "We're ready for this match!"
Hayes: "I wouldn't even call it a match. It's gonna be a back alley brawl!"'
Regal: "My guess is you're right! Well, let's not delay it any longer!"
Match Four ~ "The Beast" Brock Lesnar with Eve Torres vs. "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman
Michael Hayes was right. This resembled a war more than it did a pro wrestling match. They started the bout going toe-to-toe with heavy-handed strikes. Brock uncorked a "German Suplex" that Strowman virtually no-sold. Strowman took over with his power arsenal on a weakened Lesnar. Brock, seemingly impervious to pain, was slowed, but not deterred. He stormed back with multiple "Germans." Strowman was sent backpedaling for the first time at that point. The match began to break down from there. The referee maintained less and less control of the proceedings. eventually, both men were counted out after multiple attempts by the referee to get them back into the ring.
Winner = double countout in 18:48
Regal: "What a brutal affair!"
Hayes: "I told you it would be an alley fight!"
Regal: "It was every bit of that!"
As the commentators were speaking, "The Power Trip" ran down to ringside and began to hammer on Lesnar. "The Richards Collective" hit the ring to erupt an all-out melee. Strowman walked to the back.
Regal: "Fans, this has broken down into a war zone! we are out of time, but we'll stay with it as long as we can! Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! For Michael Hayes, I'm William Regal, saying, ta ta for now!"
Hayes: "Did you see that, Billy boy?!"
The credits aired with the fight still ongoing. Then, the screen faded to black.
