RSPW "Rising Sun Tour"

Tokyo, Japan - Rising Sun Pro-Wrestling kicked off its first ever tour today and launched the Champions Carnival. The show drew a solid crowd of 832 at the Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan. The show was well received with a lot of solid in ring action which saw the opening matches of the Champions Carnival. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the new promotion and what it could mean to the Japanese Wrestling scene.

The main event featured a hard-hitting, back and forth battle between Daisuke Sekimoto & Hirooki Goto. There were questions surrounding Sekimoto and how he would fare in this match considering he had just flown into Japan after working for NWA: H.A.W.K in the US. He went straight from the airport to the building, just in time for his huge opening match. The action started fast and furious with both guys laying in stiff chops and vicious elbows. They would battle back and forth for most of the match with neither guy backing down. At one point, Goto reversed a German suplex and hit Sekimoto with a massive brain buster which earned a 2 count. The finish came after a German suplex on Goto followed by a brutal roaring elbow by Sekimoto. Daisuke Sekimoto picked up 2 points in the Champions Carnival and was victorious in the first ever RSPW main event.

Zeus destroyed EVIL in the co-main event of the evening as the big man dismantled the much smaller EVIL. There wasn't much in the way of offence from EVIL as he was on the wrong end of a beat down. Zeus landed some significant moves throughout the match including an absolutely brutal running powerbomb which folded EVIL up like an accordion, which would be enough for the victory. Zeus definitely proved that he is a force to be reckoned with and after the match he took the microphone and stated that he was in RSPW for one reason, and one reason only...To destroy everyone.

Harashima & Bushi had a tremendous match which saw plenty of offence by both guys and numerous near falls. Bushi hit a splendid suicide dive at one point during the match which was followed up by an Irish whip into the guard rail which nearly led to Harashima being counted out. Harashima would fight back slowly but surely and would truly take control of the match by hitting a big yakuza kick which led to a cross face submission, it would prove too much for Bushi who was forced to tap out.

The veteran of the tournament, Go Shiozaki, tried his best to tame the young lion of Kento Miyahara but he fell just short. Miyahara was quicker throughout the match, countering most of Shiozaki's offence and limiting the amount of damage that Shiozaki inflicted on him. Shiozaki did have some moderate success when he got Miyahara on the mat but it wasn't enough as Miyahara pulled out a victory following a bridging German suplex.

Fans were treated to a solid special attraction 6 man tag which saw The Bodyguard, Yujiro Takahashi & Minoru Suzuki defeat the team of Kenta, Atsushi Aoki & Jun Akiyama. Suzuki and Kenta never faced of during the match as every time Kenta would enter the ring Suzuki would smile and tag out. The Bodyguard looked very dangerous during the match as he pulverized his opponents, Kenta found success against the big man by throwing stiff kicks at his legs. The finish came when Suzuki pinned Aoki following a brutal series of kicks to the face.
