Renee Young: You said it, Madusa! Tonight is the Ladies Trios Championship tournament! We will crown three women her tonight!"
Melissa Santos: "It's muy caliente in the 'Queen City' and we have some hot action ready to get started!"
Miceli: "Yep! So, without further adieu, let's go to the ring!"
(For the purpose of space, commentary between matches will be suspended)
Match One ~ 5 "Joshi Mafia"--"Queen Kongs"--Aja & Awesome Kong and Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 12 "Legacy Rookies"--Dakota Rhodes, "Diamond Doll" Brittany Page, & Alexandra Hart
Rhodes, Page, and Hart represent some of the first graduating class of the "Show Time Dojo" developmental program. Though they are quite accomplished and skilled in their own right, they were no match for "Joshi Mafia," which made quick work of their opponents.
Winners = "Joshi Mafia" by pinfall in 4:01
Match Two ~ 7 "Belleza Escondida"--Sexy Flor, Shani, & La Hiedra vs. 10 "International Bad Girls Club"--Tenille Averil, "Glampire" Paige, & Toni Storm
This was a really evenly matched bout. It would have been a "pick 'em" for Las Vegas odds makers. Both teams shined and had chances to seal the victory. The finish came as all six women were battling in the ring. Toni Storm set Flor up for the "Air Raid Crash," but Flor maneuvered herself into position for her "Reverse Hurricanrana" and spiked Storm on her head.
Winners = "Belleza Escondida" by pinfall in 10:32
Match Three ~ 6 "Mala Chicas Culo"--"Dark Angel" Sarah Stock, Thea Trinidad, & Ivelisse Velez vs. 11 Natsumi Maki, Saori Anoue, & Tae Honma
The Japanese upstarts showed brilliant cohesion and tandem offense, but this one came down to youth versus experience. Ultimately, experience won out. Stock got Maki to tap out to "La Reienera."
Winners = "Mala Chicas Culo" by submission in 8:43
Match Four ~ 8 "Belleza Escondida"--Lluvia, Zeuxis, & Sanely vs. 9 "Oedo Tai"--ACT Yasukawa and "Twizted Sisterz"--Thunder Rosa & Holidead
This was the most exciting match of the first round. So many near falls had fans on the edges of their seats. Some devious trickery by Yasukawa won the match for her team. She splashed some of her trademark rum in the eyes of Lluvia, then hit her with a punch to the head. This allowed "Sisterz" to pounce with a double "Kakuza Kick."
Winners = "Oedo Tai" by pinfall in 10:09
Match Five ~ 4 "Threedom"--Kairi Hojo, Yoko Bito, & Mayu Iwatani vs. 5 "Joshi Mafia"--"Queen Kongs"--Aja & Awesome Kong and Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota
This was a fantastic match on paper. It was marred a bit by the fact that "Joshi Mafia" would not readily engage Iwatani when she was in the ring. They exercised their "Mafia" loyalty. So, she did not see much action until the end, when she snuck in and hit Shida with a "Snap Dragon Suplex" for a surprise pin.
Winners = "Threedom" by pinfall in 11:00
Shida and the "Kongs" were a bit upset, but Toyota calmed them and everyone walked out together.
Match Six ~ 2 "The Apocalypse"--"Your Soul's Tormentor" MsChif, "Death Machine" Jessicka Havok, & "Barbed Wire Beauty" LuFisto vs. 7 "Belleza Escondida"--Sexy Flor, Shani, & La Hiedra
This was a pretty dominant performance by the higher seeds. "Belleza Escondida" had moments, but they were few and far between as this really was about smash mouth tactics, a hallmark of "The Apocalypse." The finish saw Sexy Flor attempt her "Reverse Hurricanrana" on MsChif, only to be caught in mid-air by Havok and dropped with a "HavoKiller."
Winners = "The Apocalypse" by pinfall in 7:47
Match Seven ~ 3 "The Dollhouse"--Brooke Adams, Santana Garrett, & "Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon vs. 6 "Mala Chicas Culo"--"Dark Angel" Sarah Stock, Thea Trinidad, & Ivelisse Velez
This match amounted to a three-on-two handicap midway through after Velez sustained an ankle injury being tripped off the apron by Adams. She tried valiantly to assist her team, but cost them the match in the end when she was kicked in that ankle from behind by Garrett, who then hit her patented "Shining Star Press."
Winners = "The Dollhouse" by pinfall in 9:45
Match Eight ~ 1 "Triple Tails"--Io Shirai, Mio Shirai, & Kana with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 9 "Oedo Tai"--ACT Yasukawa and "Twizted Sisterz"--Thunder Rosa & Holidead
"Triple tails" easily has the longest history of any of the trios teams. They worked so fluidly together, it was insane. "Oedo Tai" is a very unorthodox group, which really was their only saving grace in this match. However, the Shirais and Kana won handily in the end after ACT tapped to the "Kana Lock."
Winners = "Triple Tails" by submission in 6:53
Match Nine ~ 2 "The Apocalypse"--"Your Soul's Tormentor" MsChif, "Death Machine" Jessicka Havok, & "Barbed Wire Beauty" LuFisto vs. 3 "The Dollhouse"--Brooke Adams, Santana Garrett, & "Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon
The first semi-final did not disappoint. "The Apocalypse" was dominant for much of the match, as they tend to be. "The Dollhouse" hung in long enough to win on a technicality. All six women were outside the ring fighting. The two legal participants were Leon and LuFisto. The referee began the ten-count and made it to nine. Leon slid in LuFisto did the same, but her leg was grabbed by Adams, causing a slight delay. This was just enough to keep her from crossing underneath the bottom rope before ten.
Winners = "The Dollhouse" by countout in 8:31
Match Ten ~ 1 "Triple Tails"--Io Shirai, Mio Shirai, & Kana with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 4 "Threedom"--Kairi Hojo, Yoko Bito, & Mayu Iwatani
This easily was the match of the night. It was the longest match of the tournament and had phenomenal action. Before the match, Toyota conversed with all of her charges and convinced them to wrestle against Mayu as if she were any other opponent. This made the battle that much better. The sense of urgency from both teams was palpable. The end came when Mio had Iwatani perched on the top rope. She attempted a "Superplex," which was blocked. Mayu knocked Mio off the ropes and hit a forceful "Flying Body Press" that caused Mio's head to thud off the mat. Mayu made the tag to Kairi, who ran up the ropes and hit the "Flying Elbow Drop." It was all over at that point.
Winners = "Threedom" by pinfall in 15:02
Both teams shook hands in a show of respect after the match. Once again, Mayu left with "Joshi Mafia" in a show of good faith among the group. after a five-minute intermission to hype NWA SuperBrawl: "Night of Champions," it was time for the championship round.
Match Eleven ~ 3 "The Dollhouse"--Brooke Adams, Santana Garrett, & "Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon vs. 4 "Threedom"--Kairi Hojo, Yoko Bito, & Mayu Iwatani
"Threedom" was the worst for wear in this one, as they only had five minutes respite between matches. "The Dollhouse" had over twenty minutes to recharge. It showed early on. Somewhere, somehow, Hojo, Bito, and Iwatani summoned their last ounces of strength to mount an amazing comeback to pull off the victory...almost. The referee got poked in the eye and was composing herself in the corner. Bito nailed a "B-Driver" on Garrett and had her down for the pin. The other four were warring outside. In the midst, new NWA: Femme Fatales Women's Champion Yumi Ohka stormed the ring and flattened Bito with a vicious chairshot to the back of the head. Ohka rolled Garrett on top of Bito and fled the ring. The referee turned around a couple of moments later to see the pinfall.
Winners and NEW NWA: Femme Fatales Ladies Trios Champions = "The Dollhouse" by pinfall in 10:36
Miceli: "I can't believe what depths Yumi Ohka has stooped to! She stole the Women's Championship from Kairi last week, then she effectively stole the Trios Championship from 'Threedom' this week! Yumi Ohka has turned a very dark corner. Nevertheless, I guess congratulations are in order for 'The Dollhouse,' our first ever Trios Champions! Fans, we are completely out of time. Thank you for joining us for this special live broadcast. Please join us again next Thursday on TNT at our regular time for more Femme Fatales! For Renee Young and Melissa Santos, I'm Madusa Miceli! Keep on rockin' and rollin'!"
