Madusa Miceli: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest hour on television, Femme Fatales! This week, as promised, we will take an exclusive look at the 'Big Gold' Platinum Anniversary Tournament, which was won by our own Women's Champion and the NWA Women's World Champion, Kairi Hojo. Because there were fifteen huge matches, we will air clips of each. Sit back and enjoy the tournament that lit up Chapel Hill, North Carolina this Christmas!"
(Due to the number of matches aired on this episode, commentary between matches will be suspended)
Match One ~ 4 Mio Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 13 Sexy Flor with Shani
Flor was relentless, but Mio would not be denied. She weathered the lucha storm and came through with a victory after a "Double Stomp" in the corner, followed by a "Yakuza Kick."
Winner = Mio Shirai by pinfall in 7:13
Match Two ~ 3 Awesome Kong with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 14 Sumire Natsu with Kaho Kobayashi
This was a match of diverse styles and sizes, as Awesome Kong was the first Femme Fatales Heavyweight Champion and Sumire Natsu is the current Bantamweight Champion. Ultimately, size prevailed in this one. Kong got the win after an "Implant Buster."
Winner = Awesome Kong by pinfall in 5:32
Match Three ~ 5 "Death Machine" Jessicka Havok vs. 12 Becky Lynch
This was another "David vs. Goliath" type match-up. Once again, the biblical account did not play out. Havok devastated Lynch from the start. The only bright spot for Becky was her ability to reverse a throw into "Dis-Arm Her," but havoc got to the ropes and forced a break. She ended it shortly thereafter with the "Harlot Slayer."
Winner = Jessicka Havok by pinfall in 6:29
Match Four ~ 6 Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 11 Misaki Ohata with "Lady Destroyer" Hiroyo Matsumoto
Fantastic back-and-forth match that nearly went the distance. Shida caught a "Knee Bar" with about one minute remaining in the ten-minute time limit. Ohata fought like mad to get to the ropes. Eventually, she had no choice but to tap with around thirty seconds left.
Winner = Hikaru Shida by submission in 9:33
Match Five ~ 8 Mayu Iwatani with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 9 Yumi Ohka with Yoko Bito
This was a high octane match with plenty of action. Both ladies displayed theirs strengths; Iwatani's frenetic pace kept the fans' attention throughout, while Ohka's stiff kicks and strikes brought the strong style aspect. Ultimately, a communication problem cost Ohka. She had the upper hand, but stopped to confer with partner Yoko Bito in the corner. Unbeknownst to them, Iwatani had quickly recovered. She charged ahead and crunched Ohka into the corner with a "Running Double Knee Smash" to the back. Ohka fell backward right into Iwatani's "Bridging German Suplex."
Winner = Mayu Iwatani by pinfall in 9:12
Match Six ~ 7 Makoto vs. 10 "Lady Destroyer" Hiroyo Matsumoto
Since her return, Makoto has been particularly vicious. Her relentless pursuit on an unprecedented third Bantamweight Championship has gained her plenty of enemies. A former foe in Matsumoto brought out Makoto's inner demon once again. Hiroyo is no slouch, being one of the toughest ladies on the entire roster. However, she could not match ferocity with Makoto on this night. Makoto hit an "Arabesque" on the outside and beat the count back into the ring.
Winner = Makoto by countout in 8:45
Match Seven = 2 Io Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 15 "Happy Maker" Aoi Kizuki
Kizuki is a fabulous wrestler in her own right. But, Io Shirai is on another planet. She and Kairi Hojo are considered the two finest female wrestlers in the world, and they may be top five male of female. Io overwhelmed Kizuki, who showed some of her youth and relative inexperience against the more seasoned Io. Shirai finished the match with her "Moonsault Double Stomp."
Winner = Io Shirai by pinfall in 5:34
Match Eight = 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 16 Maki Narumiya
The NWA ladies ace showed why she is the World Champion, quickly dismantling the one-day Bantamweight Champion. Maki had no offense for Kairi, whose intent to win quickly was clear. She finished this one with her "Flying Forearm" and deadly "Flying Elbow Drop" with ease.
Winner = Kairi Hojo by pinfall in 2:48
Match Nine ~ 4 Mio Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 5 "Death Machine" Jessicka Havok
This was a methodical slugfest. Shirai engaged Havok in her own game and was quite successful. Mio had Havok on the ropes for some time. The end came, however, when Mio attempted a "Tornado DDT." Havok blocked it and turned it into a running "Power Slam" into the corner. Havok then locked Mio into the "Tree of Woe," where she squashed her into the corner three times before pinning her.
Winner = Jessicka Havok by pinfall in 10:11
Match Ten ~ 3 Awesome Kong with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 6 Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota
This was the first match involving members of "Joshi Mafia" as opponents. The two shook hands before the match, but it was business as usual after the bell rang. Kong controlled the action, as she typically does. Shida weathered the storm to stay in it. Kong went to the top rope, but missed and "Awesome Press" when Shida moved at the last minute. Shida locked on the "Full Metal Muffler." Kong writhed, but would not tap out. Shida wrenched down with everything she had. Kong still did not tap, but began to fade fast. Shida relinquished the hold and hit "Tamashii no Three Count" four times in succession on a prone Kong for the pin. Kong kicked out just after the three-count. This was our first true upset of the tournament. After the match, both ladies shook hands again. Kong raised Shida's arm in triumph while noticeably limping.
Winner = Hikaru Shida by pinfall in 12:14
Match Eleven ~ 2 Io Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 7 Makoto
This was the best match of the night thus far. Both ladies went full tilt. Makoto's aggression threw Shirai off a tad, but Io came roaring back. This match went every direction you could go. Makoto almost seemed to snap at the end. She was stomping on Shirai in the corner, when the referee attempted, repeatedly, to break them up. Makoto shoved the referee away twice, which prompted a disqualification. This result ensured that "Joshi Mafia" would be represented in the finals.
Winner = Io Shirai by disqualification in 11:07
Match Twelve ~ 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 8 Mayu Iwatani with "The Boss" Manami Toyota
Try as she might, Hojo could not end this match quickly, as she had in the first round. Iwatani is on par with Hojo and Io Shirai in terms of technical skill, so she was able to account well for herself. Mayu has been entered into the "best of" conversation on many occasions. Ultimately, her best efforts were not enough. She went for the "Bridging German Suplex," but Hojo flipped out of it, landed on her feet, and bounded off the ropes with a big "Spear." Hojo quickly went to the top and nailed the "Flying Elbow Drop" for the finish.
Winner = Kairi Hojo by pinfall in 11:43
Match Thirteen ~ 2 Io Shirai with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. 6 Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota
This was the second all "Joshi Mafia" match that would determine the first finalist, and the match of the tournament to that point. Io was the odds-on favorite to get there. She performed like a favorite, taking the fight to her stable mate. Shida did not back down, showing the skill that had many calling her a future ace from her earliest days. Io had the advantage at the end and went for her trademark "Moonsault." Shida recovered and blocked the attempt, catching Shirai on the ropes. Hikaru turned Io around into an "Avalanche Falcon Arrow," which got her the surprise pin.
Winner = Hikaru Shida by pinfall in 14:23
Match Fourteen ~ 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 5 "Death Machine" Jessicka Havok
Havok used her size and strength to keep Hojo grounded. Kairi used every bit of strength she could muster to combat the massive Havok. Hojo continued to fight back against seemingly impossible odds. A stroke of luck won the match for Kairi. Havok stooped down to pick her up and Hojo was able to snatch a "Small Package" and hold on for dear life while the referee counted.
Winner = Kairi Hojo by pinfall in 11:56
After a fifteen-minute intermissions, the final match was set.
Match Fifteen ~ 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 6 Hikaru Shida with "The Boss" Manami Toyota
MotN. 5 stars all day. They used most of the thrity-minute time limit. Both ladies were exhausted by the end, but neither backed down from the challenge. The end came when Shida went for a "Falcon Arrow." Hojo reversed it and worked her way into her "Ikari" finisher. Hojo bridged all the way back, with her head touching the mat. Shida's body was folded in half and contorted awkwardly. Shida bellowed in agony, but would not tap. The referee almost begged her to quit, but she would not. Shida tried to slide toward the ropes, but her positioning would not allow it. She finally began to fade. Toyota stepped up to the apron and conceded the match for her charge, rather than risk major injury.
