William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal, sitting alongside the best female commentator in the sport, Renee Young! Renee, we have an explosive episode lined up for today!"
Renee Young: "That's right, William! We have the 'Flag' match between the 'Axis of Evil' and Kurt Angle's all-American crew. That should be a barnburner! We also have the big '3-way Dance' for the Tag Team Championship, as 'Killer Elite Squad' will defend against former champions 'The Kingdom' and 'The Varsity Boys!' That will be our main event!"
Regal: "Fans, 2016 is about to get off to a rousing start. As you can see, the flags of the United States, Bulgaria, Ireland, Germany, and England are posted in two separate corners. The winners of this eight-man tag team match will have the right to burn their opponents' flag. There's no way around it. Four men will go home humiliated tonight. 'So Cal' Val is standing by outside the dressing room of the 'Axis of Evil.' Valerie?"
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with Lana, the manager for the 'Axis of Evil.' Lana, what is the mindset of your group going into this match, knowing that there is a great chance all four of their country's flags could be burned up?"
Lana: "Dear Valerie, you put too much faith in your American brethren. You say there is a 'great chance' that the flags of four mighty nations will be burned tonight? Ha! There is only the chance that the red, white, and blue rag your people wave will be turned to ash! We are supremely confident!"
Wyndham: "Kurt Angle is a legend and 'Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team' has more than earned its name. Eric Angle is an accomplished amateur and does have several years of pro experience. I wouldn't count your victory just yet."
Lana: "Yes, this Eric Angle. He is the weak link. We have researched him. He is the oldest of the bunch and is prone to injury. We shall crush him, his brother, and their comrades. They will not stand a chance. When the fire begins to burn, we will celebrate by waving our flags proudly."
Wyndham: "There you have it."
Regal: "Our correspondent Barbie Blank is with the American contingent. Take it away, Barbie!"
Barbie Blank: "I am here with the American team of Kurt and Eric Angle, along with 'Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team' of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. Gentlemen, the pride of our entire country rests on your shoulders here tonight. How are you dealing with that pressure?"
Kurt Angle: "Barbie, the pressure of a nation was on my shoulders in 1996, and I brought home the Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin' neck! We feel something more important than pressure for this match. We feel pride. America is still the greatest country in the world. Tonight, we prove America has the greatest wrestlers in the world. 'Axis of Evil' will go down! Oh, it's true!"
Blank: "Eric, you've kept in shape as a bodybuilder, but you've been away from pro wrestling for several years. How do you feel about coming back in a match of this magnitude?"
Eric Angle: "I'd be lying if I said there were no nerves. I feel the butterflies. But, I use them. Nerves are a good thing. If I felt no pressure to perform well, then my mind wouldn't be in the right place. I may have been away from the ring for a while, but I've never stopped training with Kurt. I'm ready to prove something to myself, to the 'Axis of Evil,' and to the world."
Blank: "Charlie, everyone of you guys wrestled in college, then moved on to the pro ranks for very successful careers. Where does this match stack up in terms of importance over all the matches you've wrestled?"
Charlie Haas: "It's right up there at the top of the list. I've never been involved in a 'Flag' match. Tonight, we don't just represent each other or NWA: Show Time. We represent the entire United States of America. We're not fighting for titles tonight. What we're fighting for is much more valuable than a championship belt. We're fighting for pride. America, put your trust in us. Put your hopes on our backs. We're ready to knock one out of the park!"
Blank: "Shelton, what would it mean to you personally to get this victory?"
Shelton Benjamin: "Personally, it will be a big dose of retribution and vindication. Those punks have jumped us and attacked us week after week. Enough is enough! The sides are even tonight. Let's see what these bullies do when we punch them back! There's a lot at stake personally, but our mentality is all for one. WE have a mission tonight and it's clear. We will defend the honor of America and we will vanquish the enemy once and for all!"
Blank: "William, these guys are fired up! Back to you!"
Regal: "Renee, this is going to be good! Fans, we'll have the 'Flag' match after the break!"
Regal: "We're back and it's time for 'USA vs. the world!' Scarlett, take it away!"
Match One ~ 'Flag' match (winners burn the losers' flag(s) ~ "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle, Eric Angle, and "Wrestling's Great Tag Team"--Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. "Axis of Evil"--Miroslav Barnyashev, Sheamus O'Shaunessy, Rob Terry, and "Bad Bones" John Klinger with Lana
This match was a donnybrook from the opening bell. There were deafening chants of "USA, USA, USA!" throughout. "AoE" took advantage of the ring rust from Eric Angle, cutting the ring in half and punishing him for several minutes of action. Angle was finally able to make a tag to his brother. Kurt came in and cleaned house. The match broke down from there, with all eight men going at it inside and out of the ring. Klinger took an "Exploder Suplex" from Benjamin and bounced up into an "Olympic Slam" from Kurt Angle. Eric Angle climbed the ropes and delivered a "Frog Splash" for the pin, while his teammates held off their opponents.
Winners = The Angles and "WGTT" in 18:23
The place went bananas after the three-count, as Kurt, Shelton, and Charlie grabbed up Eric and embraced in center ring. Lana and the rest of "Axis of Evil" were beside themselves outside the ring. As the torch was brought in to begin the flag-burning, "AoE" attempted to re-enter the ring. The Americans fought them off, but the distraction gave Lana time to gather up the flags and stuff them into her blazer. She and her charges backpedaled down the ringside exit to a chorus of boos. The crowd nearly rioted, but gave a hearty cheer when the American team raised each others' hands.
Regal: "So, Angle and friends won the battle, but the 'Axis of Evil' escaped with some shred of their dignity intact."
Young: "I'm a little disappointed. I had my marshmallows ready for a s'more roast!"
Regal: "Perhaps Kurt and his crew will get a hold of those flags eventually. Still, a win's a win. The heroes came through for their home country and left the ring with their heads held high! We'll be back in a moment."
Regal: "Fans, our CEO has set aside some time tonight to make an announcement. 'So Cal' Val is in the ring awaiting his entrance."
"Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva blared to bring out Jordan Richards, Eve Torres (holding a black velvet bag), Stacy Keibler, Brock Lesnar, "Tha Varsity Boys," The Rock, Adam Cole, and Maria Kanellis.
Wyndham: "Mr. Richards, you have told us that you have an announcement that will drastically alter NWA: Show Time as we know it. Can you enlighten us at this time?"
Jordan Richards: "My dear Valerie, nothing would give me greater pleasure. Since its inception, NWA: Show Time has become the preeminent NWA member territory, bar none. We have two television programs on major cable networks. We have the greatest roster of talent in the world, both male and female. We have a full live event schedule that covers a vast multi-state territory, which leads me to my announcement. As you know, NWA: Show Time currently travels between the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. Well, I have successfully negotiated with several venues and outlets in Florida, and I am happy to report that we are adding that state to our traveling itinerary. Now that we cover the entire Mid-Atlantic section of the country, I feel it necessary to somehow represent that on our television programs and at our live events. So, I have commissioned a brand new title belt for this company that will be the trophy of the NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion! Evie, would you do the honors?"
Eve Torres took the beautiful championship belt from its velvet housing and displayed it for the cameras.
Richards: "As with every other championship that I introduced when I opened this company, a tournament will be held to determine the inaugural champion. This tournament will feature sixteen of NWA: Show Time's finest wrestlers. Fourteen names have already been chosen and will be revealed later in the broadcast. The final two participants will be set using a 'wildcard' format. Eight men will wrestle each other in 'Fatal Four-Way' matches next week on this program. The two winners will then become 'wildcard' entrants into the tournament. The tournament will take place in our newest territory state, Florida, over a two-event period. The Marina Civic Center in Panama City, Florida will house both events, which will be Wednesday, January 20 and Saturday, January 23. The complete first round will take place on night one, with the quarterfinals, semi-finals, and finals to be held the second night. The man who wears this championship will be considered the number one contender to the NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Championship. I can promise you that the 'Richards Collective' will be well represented. I would not be surprised if one of my guys walks away with the title! After we add the Tag Team Championships back to the fold, we'll be sitting pretty once again. C'mon on guys! We have a couple of title belts to win!"
Regal: "What an announcement! We have added Florida as one of our travel territories and we have a brand new championship!"
Young: "I absolutely love Florida! Fun in the sun, here we come! I'll be in Panama City for that tournament! This is huge news!"
Regal: "The Tag Team Championship will be decided next. Stay tuned!"
Regal: "We're back! Let's go to the ring for our introductions!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "3-Way Dance" ~ "Killer Elite Squad"--Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt vs. "The Kingdom"--Michael Bennett & Matt Taven vs. "The Varsity Boys"--John Cena & "The Viper" Randy Orton with Maria Kanellis
This match was everything it was advertised to be. There was a "big money" feel because of the titles being defended. There was the clout of the teams involved. There was phenomenal wrestling throughout. "KES" has the longest tenure as a team. Bennett and Taven are the most fluid with their tandem offense. Cena and Orton are the best of their generation. "KES" controlled most of the action with their hard-hitting style. Bennett and Taven were playing the spoiler role, even as the former champions, because they were thwarting the pin attempts of both the other teams. Cena and Orton had a point to prove, as they are used to holding gold and have become frustrated at their failed attempts to gain titles. The conclusion of the match was chaotic. Jordan Richards came to the ring, apparently to assist his "blue chippers." He was cut off at the pass by Commissioner Scott Hall and Deputy Commissioner Jake "The Snake" Roberts. "KES" hit the "Killer Bomb" on Orton, but Maria hopped up onto the apron to distract referee Charles Robinson. Smith then berated Kanellis and "slingshot" her into the ring. As Richards, Hall, and Roberts were arguing, Smith had Kanellis by the hair in the ring. He threatened to slap her and she was begging for mercy. Referee Robinson implored Smith not to strike the manager, so he bent her over his knee and spanked her. At this time, Cena had thrown Bennett into the steel steps and took out both Taven and Hoyt with chair shots. Smith let Kanellis go and she slid outside the ring. Referee Robinson admonished her not to re-enter the ring, just as Cena blindsided Smith with a chair to the back of the skull. This sent Davey careening through the ropes and to the outside. Taven was struggling to get into the ring and was met with a "Draping DDT" from Orton for the pinfall. Hoyt tried to make the save, but dived into the ring just as the referee's hand struck the mat for the third time.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions = "The Varsity Boys" by pinfall in 27:44
Richards rejoiced as Hall and Roberts scratched their heads. Smith and Hoyt fumed, having lost the titles without being beaten in the ring. They cornered Referee Robinson and lambasted him concerning the steel chair used by Cena, but Charles had seen none of it. Kanellis brought the championships to Cena and Orton, while limping noticeably and "wearing" a beet-red posterior. Richards and company celebrated to the back as "KES" tossed chairs around ringside.
Regal: "This is the second time the Tag Team Championship has been stolen from 'Killer Elite Squad' by the 'Richards Collective!'"
Young: "It's unbelievable. They seem to be in the right place at the right time, to get away with murder."
Regal: "It helps that their 'collector' is also the founder, owner, and CEO of the company! Fans, we're running low on time, but, before we go, we want to show you the fourteen entrants into the Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament."
A graphic aired listing the following:
The Rock
John Cena
Randy Orton
Kurt Angle
Miroslav Barnyashev
Sheamus O'Shaunessy
Kevin Steen
Claudio Castagnoli
Dean Ambrose
Tetsuya Naito
Jay Lethal

Regal: "So there you have it! The first fourteen entrants have been named. Remember fans, the two 'Fatal Four-Way' matches to determine the 'wildcard' entrants will take place here next Tuesday on TBS. Don't forget to tune into Show Time Femme Fatales on TNT this Thursday as well! We have to go! For Renee Young, I'm William Regal, saying, ta ta for now!"
