The episode opened with a video package hyping last week's two title changes.
William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. Alongside me is the 'belle of the ball,' my co-host, Renee Young! Renee, this is the last broadcast of 2015 for us. What a year it has been!"
Renee Young: "From our humble beginnings in June until now, NWA: Show Time has grown by leaps and bounds, and the Show Time Power Hour has become 'must-see TV' each and every week! Last week, we saw the 'Richards Collective' lose two members and two championships in one episode, when they had previously owned every available title and had run roughshod over the competition. We know that Jordan Richards is fit to be tied. I'm sure he has devised a plan to get those belts back ASAP!"
Regal: "Yes, Richards has been yelling all day long back in the staging and catering areas. Anyone within earshot has been forced to listen to a barrage of insults and complaining. I'm sure we'll be hearing from the owner, founder, and CEO of our promotion tonight."
Just then, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva hit to bring out the entire "Richards Collective." Jordan Richards had an evil scowl on his face and a microphone in hand.
Regal: "Well, we didn't have to wait long for that."
Jordan Richards: "Last week was a dark day for this company. The promotion I founded with my own blood, sweat, and cash was shaken to its very core. The Television and Tag Team Championships were stolen from us through nefarious means. Not only that, but I was forced to cut Michael Bennett and Matt Taven lose because they simply quit pulling their weight in my 'Collective.' My world was turned upside down. But, tonight, we right the ship, because those two championships are coming back to us! The Rock will be granted his rematch here tonight with Jason Justice for the TV Championship, while my 'Varsity Boys' are going to take out 'Killer Elite Squad' and bring the Tag Team Championship back. When this episode goes off the air, all will be right on the earth once again. Rock, tell Justice what you plan to do to him tonight."
The Rock: "Jeremy, Jason, John Boy, it doesn't matter what your name is! The Rock says to know your role and shut your mouth! The Rock refuses to be embarrassed by some no-name punk like you! You may have gotten away with blatant interference from Bennett and Taven to steal The Rock's TV Title, but The Rock says that he is going to lay the smack down on you tonight! The Rock is going to shine up that big size 13 boot, turn it sideways, and stick it straight up your fat backside! Then, The Rock is going to take back what belongs to him. You will once again go one-on-one with 'The Great One' in front of the millions...and millions of The Rock's fans! And, when The Rock is through with you, they'll be wheeling you off to the retirement home to eat applesauce through a straw for the rest of your days!"
Richards: "'The Varsity Boys' have something to say as well. Gentlemen?"
John Cena: "In just a few shorts minutes, the world will be shouting, 'The champs are heeeerrrrre!' We're about to show you what two thoroughbreds can do when you put them together! Randy and I have 27 World Championships between us and we both have been multiple-time World Tag Team Champions. Trust me when I tell you that 'Killer Elite Squad' doesn't stand a chance against us."
Randy Orton: "They won't look like such killers when we are finished with them. We're two 'blue-chip' athletes, not two goons out here yelling and screaming. 'KES' is about to get their A-S-S'es kicked by 'The Varsity Boys.' We're the elite and we're about to prove it."
Richards: "Scott Hall and Jake Roberts better not stick their noses in our business either, if they know what's good for them!"
Regal: "Well, we know we'll have two big title matches on the program here tonight! What an exciting way to end the year!"
Young: "Let's get it on!"
Match One ~ "The Axis of Evil"--Miroslav Barnyashev, Sheamus O'Shaunessy, Rob Terry, & "Bad Bones" John Klinger with Lana vs. "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle, "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team"--Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, & a mystery partner
This was a special challenge match from last week. "The Axis of Evil" came to the ring defiant and confident. Angle and "WGTT" made their way without a partner. "AoE" were laughing and mocking them for being one man short. Kurt grabbed a microphone.
Kurt Angle: "Laugh all you want, boys! I told you last week we'd have ourselves a partner for tonight, and we do. I also told you that blood is thinker than water..."
Kurt's older brother, Eric Angle came down the entrance in his ring gear. He looked phenomenal, as he has been involved in bodybuilding for several years now. Eric hit the ring and went straight after Rob Terry, the other bodybuilder in the match. The fight was on immediately and it broke down into a melee with all eight men going at it tooth and nail. Since the referee had not rang the bell, he couldn't start the match and had to try and restore order. Two more referees sprinted to ringside to separate the two teams. We finally had semblance enough of order to begin the bout. It quickly broke down again, with all three referees again attempting to restore order, to no avail. The match was thrown out to a chorus of boos.
Winners = no contest in 3:19 (total time of 8:26)
Both teams continued to tear into each other. Several referees and Security personnel had to pull them apart.
Regal: "Fans, it's a crazy scene here! We'll go to commercial and see if some order might be restored at ringside. Back in a moment."
Regal: "We're back, but both teams are still being separated."
Young: "This is a madhouse right now!"
Angle: "You want a war?! You've got one! We challenge you to a 'Flag' match! You bring all of your flags here next week and we'll bring 'Old Glory!' Whoever wins the match gets to burn the opponent's flag! If you boys have any guts, you'll take us on one more time!"
Lana: "You want us to put our four glorious flags up against your one puny American Flag?! Ha! That's laughable, Angle! You have a deal! When we'll beat you once and for all, we'll spit on your old rag before we turn it into ashes!"
Regal: "Well, then! The first episode of 2016 promises to be a great one with a 'Flag' match already on the card!"
Young: "It's time to show some good old American pride to the world! Sorry William, I guess I got a little carried away..."
Regal: "It's quite all right, sunshine! I have dual citizenship. Even though Rob Terry is a fellow Brit, I don't like what this 'Axis of Evil' stands for. Next week, there will be a big part of me rooting for the Americans to give them their comeuppance! Let's take it backstage to Laura Cruz, who's standing by."
Laura Cruz: "I'm 'Locker Room Lovely' Laura Cruz with all the latest news and gossip for everything Show Time. We are coming off a huge night at Clash of the Champions, which saw Brock Lesnar retain the World Championship, Xavier Woods retain the North American Cruiserweight Championship. We also witnessed the shocking unveiling of Manami Toyota as 'Joshi Mafia's Boss!' The world is still in shock over that one! Toyota will have a lot of explaining to do on a live edition of Show Time Femme Fatales this Thursday. My sources tell me that there also will be a blockbuster announcement coming out of the 'Joshi Mafia' camp. I've heard rumblings that Jordan Richards may add another men's championship to NWA: Show Time. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks. Well, my time is up for this episode. I'm 'Locker Room Lovely' Laura Cruz, and that's the scoop!"
Regal: "We'll be back with the Television Championship rematch in just a moment!"
Regal: "Fans, we're back from the commercial break. Let's go to Scarlett Bordeaux fro the introductions to out first title match!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ "Ticking Time Bomb" Jason Justice vs. The Rock with Maria Kanellis
This match was everything we expected and more from The Rock. The real surprise to most fans was the prowess of Justice, who is an indy veteran, but who had very little exposure on a national scene as a singles wrestler. He was a part of the legendary indy tag team of "Boogaloo Crew" with vastly underrated talent JC Dazz, but was relegated to tag action for the bulk of his career. Just like last week, he stepped up to the plate in a pressure-packed situation and hit another home run. The Rock controlled much of the action, but the 300-pounder more than carried his weight, so to speak. In one sequence, The Rock pelted Justice with a barrage of punches, finally "laying the smack down," only to see Justice "snap" and begin ramming his own head into the turnbuckle pad repeatedly. The unorthodox style threw The Rock for a loop, but he is a "big money" player who rose to the occasion yet again. The end saw The Rock hit the "Rock Bottom," followed by the "People's Elbow." At the moment The Rock's elbow struck Justice, he turned it into a "Crucifix" pinning combination for the quick pinfall.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Television Champion = Jason Justice by pinfall in 12:48
Regal: "Justice has been served once again! The 'Ticking Time Bomb' retained the championship!"
Young: "The fans are loving it!"
The Rock was livid and went after Justice, only to see him escape into the crowd and celebrate the victory (all while laughing maniacally), much to The Rock's chagrin.
Regal: "Let's go to 'So Cal' Val, who has a special guest."
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm standing by with 'Priest of Punishment' Mikael Judas. Mikael, you finished off 2015 in a very strong way. You were the sole survivor in your match at 'Starrcade,' and you have been dominant in your matches since joining Show Time. What can we expect from you in 2016?"
Mikael Judas: "Pain."
Wyndham: "Do you care to elaborate?"
Judas: "I will unleash my judgment upon anyone who stands in my path. 2016 promises to be a year of pain."
Judas leered into the camera before walking away.
Wyndham: "There you have it. A man of very few words. Back to you, William."
Regal: Few words indeed, but very intimidating ones at that."
Young: "Mikael Judas is the last guy in the world you'd hope to encounter in a dark alley. If he says 2016 will be a year of pain, I believe him."
Regal: "We'll be back with our Tag Team Championship main event. Stay with us!"
Regal: "Fans, it's time for our main event. Scarlett?!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "Killer Elite Squad"--Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt vs. "The Varsity Boys"--John Cena & "The Viper" Randy Orton with Maria Kanellis
"KES" brought the fight to Cena and Orton, who do not have a long history of teaming together, as the champions do. Cena and Orton are world class caliber wrestlers, and eventually took over on Hoyt, isolating him in their corner with some classic tandem offense (double "Hiptoss," double "Elbow Smash," double-team in the corner, etc.) and cutting the ring in half. Hoyt was nearly done for. Cena and Orton went for a double "Clothesline" that Hoyt ducked. He bounded off the ropes with a double "Flying Clothesline" of his own, leaving all three on the mat. Smith chomped at the bit to get in the ring, imploring his partner to make the tag. As he reached his feet, Cena grabbed his left leg and prevented him from advancing. As Hoyt hopped on one leg, Orton charged. Hoyt ducked and Orton careened toward Smith, who walloped him. Hoyt then hit a one-legged "Dropkick" on Cena, sending him flying backward. Hoyt finally made the tag to a fired-up Smith, who cleaned house. Eventually, all four men were going at it. As Hoyt and Cena were in the corner, Orton hit an "RKO" out of nowhere on Smith. Orton went for the cover, which would have been academic at that point. As the referee's hand struck the mat for two, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven both bounded from the audience and pulled him out of the ring. The referee immediately called for the bell, signaling a disqualification.
Winners = "The Varsity Boys" by disqualification in 13:06; STILL NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions, "Killer Elite Squad"
Jordan Richards was beside himself at ringside.
Richards: Evie, prepare a contract. Cena and Orton will get a rematch next week! And Bennett and Taven will be barred from the building!"
The original "nWo" music hit to bring out Commissioner Scott Hall and Deputy Commissioner Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
Scott Hall: "Hey, yo! We're embarking on a new year, but it's the same old song and dance from Jordan Richards. Everyone's tired of it, 'boss man!' Hey Jake, you wanna tell him?"
Jake Roberts: "I'd be happy to, Scottie. 'The Kingdom' won't be barred from the building next week. You see, they are the former champions. As such, they have a mandatory rematch clause that has not been invoked yet. Now, as good as this match was, I think we'd like to see some action between these two teams next week. But, Scott and I can't see our way clear to leave Bennett and Taven out of the mix. So, the Tag Team Championship match next Tuesday will be a '3-way Dance!' 'Killer Elite Squad' will defend against 'The Varsity Boys' AND 'The Kingdom!" Put that in your pipe and smoke it, 'boss!'"
Richards and the 'Collective' were livid as they stormed away from ringside.
Regal: "Wow! It looks like we have a blockbuster episode lined up next week, Renee!"
Young: Would you expect anything less from Show Time?"
Regal :"Absolutely not! Fans, we'll be right back here on TBS next Tuesday, and, don't forget about Show Time Femme Fatales this Thursday, New Year's Eve, live on TNT, with a special start time of 11 PM! For Renee Young, I'm William Regal, saying, ta ta for now and Happy New Year!"
