Madusa Miceli: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest hour on television, Show Time Femme Fatales! I'm Madusa Miceli, and I'm joined by my exquisite co-hosts Melissa Santos and Noel Harlow. Girls, we're winding down the 'Femme Fatales Top Gun' Tournament. Today, we will have the quarter-final matches in their entirety, in studio!"
Melissa Santos: "It's good to be back in front of a studio crowd! I love this atmosphere!"
Noel Harlow: "Amen to that, sister!"
Miceli: "So, let's get to it! Take it away, Nina Samuels!"
Match One ~ 2 Io Shirai vs. 5 Yumi Ohka
A match pitting two of the biggest names in Joshi Puroresu against one another typically would be a recipe for an instant classic. Well, that was the case until the very end of the match. Ohka and Shirai were each at their best, going hold-for-hold in a war of attrition. ohka finally got the advantage after Shirai missed a "Moonsault." Ohka hit her "Chokebomb" and went into the "Angel Wing Lock" submission attempt. Io seemed poised to give up, when her sister yelled at the referee. As she feigned an effort to enter the ring, Yumi released the hold and walked over toward the action. The referee (La Maestra) was admonishing Mio to keep her comments to herself. Io recovered and hit the "Spanish Fly," followed by the "Moonsault Double Stomp" for the win.
Winner = 2 Io Shirai by pinfall in 11:34
Miceli: "That was a tremendous match marred, once again, by outside interference from 'Joshi Mafia.'"
Santos: "They ruin the integrity of every match they are a part of."
Harlow: "It's a travesty knowing that someone like Yumi Ohka, who had the match won, will go home empty-handed."
Miceli: "It's a dang shame. That's for sure. After the break, we'll see quarterfinal number two."
Match Two ~ 1 Kana vs. 3 Takako Inoue
The legend Inoue is the oldest remaining contestant (46 in two weeks) and has made quite an impressive showing for herself. Kana is one of the most highly thought-of women in the sport of professional wrestling. Both are well-versed in martial arts and have, as Jim Ross would call them, "educated" feet. They nearly kicked each other's heads off. Kana eventually won the battle after a standing "Roundhouse Kick" to Inoue's head that made her an easy target for the "Kana Lock." She had to tap after Kana grapevined her.
Winner = 1 Kana by submission in 9:15
Miceli: "That was another impressive match and an actual clean finish from a member of 'Joshi Mafia."
Just then, Manami Toyota hit the ring with a steel chair and waffled Kana mercilessly until several referees separated her from her victim. She then broke free and hit a "Japanese Queen Bee Bomb" onto the chair, before security personnel finally got her out of the ring.
Santos: "We knew Manami would respond. I don't think any of us expected that!"
Harlow: "Manami Toyota is one mad mamacita!"
Miceli: "Fans, we need to take another break while Kana is loaded on a stretcher. We'll be back with match three shortly."
During the commercial break, Kana was taken to the back, where Toyota was waiting and overturned the stretcher. She finally relented as Kana was placed into an ambulance.
Miceli: "Wow! My girl Manami just made a statement! Ladies, we have to go back to the ring for match three!"
Match Three ~ 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 3 Hikaru Shida
Hojo proudly wore her half of the NWA: Show Time Women's Tag Team Championship to the ring as fans cheered. Shida sauntered to the ring, smugly blowing off the fans. This was the match of the night, by far. Both ladies are at the top of their game. The fact that Hojo currently has a blood feud going with Shida and the rest of "Joshi Mafia" made this one even more emotionally charged. Shida has developed quite the mean streak in recent weeks and controlled much of the action throughout the middle of the match. Hojo called upon the inspiration of the studio audience to give her the extra fire to keep going. Shida went for a top-rope "Falcon Arrow," but was thwarted and thrown off her perch. Hojo then hit the "Flying Elbow Drop" for the pin to a raucous ovation.
Winner = 1 Kairi Hojo by pinfall in 15:43
Miceli: "I can't even describe that match. Phenomenal. Just, phenomenal!"
Santos: "Poetry in motion."
Harlow: "It was Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat minus the 'man parts!'"
Miceli: "Yes! Good call, Noel! Fans, stay tuned. Our final match is next."
Match Four ~ 1 Manami Toyota vs. 7 Celeste
Celeste represents the "new age" diva, with curves and muscles. She is the lowest seed to advance this far in the tournament and has beaten some big time names along the way. Momentum was on her side, until she met the buzz saw that is Manami Toyota. Toyota, in the state of mind she was in on this day, was impervious to pain. Nothing Celeste did seemed to phase the NWA: Show Time Women's Champion. Toyota was on a mission and would not be denied. She keeps turning back the clock every time the bell rings. Celeste actually ran out of gas before her 44-year-old counterpart did. Toyota won it a the same "Queen Bee Bomb" she dumped Kana with earlier in the program. This was Celeste's first singles defeat in NWA: Show Time.
Winner = 1 Manami Toyota by pinfall in 10:08
Miceli: "Manami is reppin' old school girls like me! I love it! She beat the tar out of Kana and won her tournament match!"
Santos: "I'm scared of Manami Toyota today!"
Harlow: "We have never seen this side of her before. She's always been the best, but, when she gets downright mean, she can't be stopped!"
Miceli: "We have word that Kana is being treated at a local medical facility. We will update her condition on the NWA: Show Time website as information becomes available. Fans, our semi-finals are set. Next week, we'll have the semis and finals on Show Time Femme Fatales. So, tune in on TNT every Tuesday! And, don't forget to check out TBS for the Show Time Power Hour every Tuesday! For Melissa Santos and Noel Harlow, I'm Madusa Miceli. Keep on rockin' and rollin!'"
