I'm so glad that it seems they've ditched the Mighty Mouse gimmick for Neville, and the Gay Barber gimmick for Kalisto. They both fit in their current gimmicks and roles. I don't know why the crowd fell so in love with Kalisto though. People made fun of the original Sin Cara for botching moves, and Kalisto does it all the time! Grant it, when you're doing some of the moves he does, you're going to botch a few here and there, but still. I don't know how long that will last, and again, it was the Raw-after-Mania crowd, so they're always loud and wanting to do anything they can to be noticed. Remember how they took to Fandango the night after WrestleMania? Look where he's at now.
Apparently the WWE turned the crowd volume down during the main event to a ridiculous degree. Live reports indicate that the arena was the loudest it had been all night and were booing unmercifully, yet on TV it appeared much more subdued. Word has it that when Reigns won the building was hot with boo's to a point where it was deafening to be in the arena.
I have a difficult time believing those reports. I know the crowd was highly disrespectful during a 6-man tag main event. Like, doing a wave for 5 minutes? Come on now. The cameras captured it, so I wouldn't think they'd drown out boos like that. Plus, if the report came from a guy inside the arena, it's always louder being in the crowd than watching on TV. For example, a game at the Seattle Seahawks home. It's one thing watching it on TV, and another going to the arena. And obviously from an outside arena source, it wouldn't be credible at all because they'd just be stirring up stuff.

You probably havn't been watching NXT because of your comment about Kalisto, because he does moves that the hasn't been seen in WWE before, you could say he's this genereation rey mysterio, and WWE need a high flyer to show a different type of wrestler

chaoskid I haven't missed an episode of NXT since getting the WWE Network and watching their first live show. He's a botch fest. Again, it'll happen a few times here and there with the kind of moves he's trying to perform, as it's hard, but he still messes up on a lot of them. When he's on target, he can be exciting... But that's just my opinion. I think he has the potential to be the next Rey Mysterio, and you may be right, but it all depends on the fans and how much merchandise of his they buy. That's all it comes down to, whether he'll be pushed like Mysterio or not.
Kalisto really doesn't botch that much, the only time I've seen him have a match where he botched a lot was in a tag with Sin Cara against Murphy/Blake where the timing with all of them was way off and everyone had a shocking match. He's better in singles away from Sin Cara too.

That is the match that sticks out to me too. Blake and Murphy isn't to blame, but Kalisto and Cara might have had a bad day. But you can't really do that on live TV, on Raw or SmackDown, not even once or you'll be slaughtered by the internet fans.
Just look, Batista botches a few moves and he's called "Botchtista" and the original Sin Cara did the same and was "Botch Cara".. It only takes one or two moves missed to get the fans to turn. That's the only thing I'm worrying about, is the fans turning on Kalisto in the next year if he messes up a few moves.. We know how quickly they can turn on superstars. One year they're wanting Reigns to win the Royal Rumble, the next they boo him out of the arena.
Yeah I agree about the fans turning on guys quickly. I think that's why it's important that he's put in matches with guys who know how to work with a decent luchadore to get some support behind him early. Cesaro is the perfect guy to be against right now.

I agree, and Tyson Kidd as well, but is it really good to push him and Sin Cara immediately to that tag title scene? I mean, come on. Talk about Reigns 2.0, they'd turn on him if he botched AND if they were to come on the scene and win the tag titles, especially before The Ascension has even come close.
Speaking of, very disappointed they've quit pushing The Ascension. What an amazing future they had and were in NXT for a few years (if you include the run with Kenneth Cameron/Bram), and they bring them up to the main roster and cut a couple good heelish promos, and they're all of a sudden going to be jobbers to make guys look strong. It's sad.

Kalisto is infinitely more talented than the Ascension. The Ascension and the tag division in general were the worst things about NXT. Well the reason people didn't like The Ascension was because of their promos, trashing on the legendary tag teams. That was their gimmick!! To be so much like an 80s tag team, such as the Road Warriors, and trash on them and others people grew in love with. What better way to draw boos than that? The Ascension was soooooo dominant in NXT, it was unreal. They're good, if booked correctly, but they haven't been. You can't trash on legendary pairings and then lose so many matches following thereafter.

Don't blame The Ascension for Hideo Itami's slow start in his WWE career that I saw coming anyways. But I've been through that, so won't get into it.. But it's just contrasting styles, so you can't really talk about Kalisto or The Ascension being better in terms of talent. Some love the high octane offense of Kalisto, and some like the dominance of Konnor and Viktor. If Sin Cara can work and keep up with Kalisto's popularity, the Lucha Dragons can be a good tag team, and then WWE can finally dismiss the Los Matadores tag team, which has failed since Day 1.
Yeah the Los Matadores gimmick was one of those ridiculous gimmicks that was obviously doomed to fail from the moment it was dreamt of.
I think they only reason they're even still on the roster is the WWE's holding onto a glimpse of hope they can get Carlito to return for some work, whether it's sporadic appearances or a tiny contract like RVD had. Unfortunately for them, I don't see that happening.
I don't think the WWE wants Carlito back and probably wouldn't have him even if he wanted to come back.
In a place that Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior, Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan, and soooooo many others have come back to the WWE with bad blood between them, why not Carlito? Even a Royal Rumble entry or some work down in NXT is good for him... Never say never.
