We go to highlights from True Pain as well as the Clash of Champions match, the video package ends with Flame's announcement of the Tournament & Devitt/CIMA for the title at Ascendance.

Nonsense Afterimage by GRANRODEO plays

Mac: Welcome to the start of the DWF Tournament.
Doc: Now as Flame stated this is going to be a 5 round tournament, with rounds 3-5 all taking place at Ascendance
Mac: The original plan was to hold the first 2 rounds on Devastation, however Flame has decided to change things up
Doc: Basically there won't be any Devastation's for a while, as each day you will see 1 sometimes 2 matches
Mac: Once the first 2 rounds are done, Devastation will resume as we head to Ascendance
Doc: The way this tournament works is quite simple, 5 rounds: We start with the Elimination Round with 32 Wrestlers, then we cut that in half down to 16 for the Qualifying Round, then down to 8 for the Quarter Finals, down to 4 for the Semi Finals then the last 2 will face off in the Finals with the Winner facing the DWF Central Champions whoever that may be at our biggest show of the year: Blood, Sweat & Tears

The Final Countdown plays as the #1 seed, Bryan Danielson makes his way down, Blood Generation's theme plays as his opponent Don Fujii comes out

Bryan goes right to work with chops & kicks then starts working on Fujii's arm, with arm breakers & divorce court. Fujii comes back with a Palm Strike combo and a Lariat he tries HIMEI but Bryan counters into a Small Package, but Don kicks out. Bryan with multiple European Uppercuts and Elbow shots followed by The Danielson Special but Fujii makes it to the ropes. Bryan goes for the Busaiku Knee but Don gets the boot up Nice German but again Bryan kicks out. Fujii's getting frustrated he gets Bryan up goozle, he goes for the Nodowa Otoshi, but Bryan lands on his feet & hits a Regal Plex for 2. Bryan's looking for the Dragon Suplex but Fujii blocks, Gedo Clutch but Bryan rolls through into MMA Elbows and stomps to the arm, Don weathers the blows & gets the Gedo Clutch the earlier damage to the arm effects him & he can't maintain the pin. Nodowa Otoshi he connects but Fujii's not done instead goes for the Nodowa Elbow, he hits the second Chokeslam but when he goes for the elbow, Bryan catches him. He has the arm, hooks the other & bridges right into Cattle Mutilation. Fujii's in the center of the ring with no other option he taps

Match 2

Clutch plays to bring out Davey Richards, Davey is in the ring waiting for his opponent when Dance Away starts playing to bring out Kyle O'Reilly

Mac & Doc at the same time: OH SHIT!

Kyle makes it to ringside area when Davey takes him out with a Tope Suicida as this one's off to a fast start. Davey with a Powerbomb into the guard rail then throwing a barrage of kicks, but Kyle starts throwing kicks of his own as they head back to the ring to get the match 'officially' started. O'Reilly with a Hammerlock Divorce Court Driver then starts driving elbows & stomps to Davey's arm. Richards fights back with chops, Kyle whips Davey, but Richards comes back with Damage Reflex. Davey's not done he picks Kyle but for Alarm Clock for a 2 count. Davey goes to the top, Shooting Star Press but O'Reilly had it scouted & connects with a Double Knee Facebreaker while Richards was coming down. Rolling Butterfly Suplexes, he goes for the Brainbuster, but Davey knees his way out. Powerbomb into a folding pin, but O'Reilly kicks out. Davey up top again, Invader to Kyle's arm then follows up with a Kimura, but O'Reilly counters into a Fujiwara Armbar. Davey can't reach the ropes, desperate to get out he bites Kyle's arm. Davey goes to work on O'Reilly's fingers then locks in the 14:59. He fights out hits Davey with one his own moves the Tiger Driver '98. Kyle is spent, he gets a pin but was unable to really get a good cover as Davey kicks out. Richards is back up Creeping Death, Davey isn't done he picks up Kyle, DR Driver attempt but he's wore out too. He gets Kyle up but he counters into Armageddon, but with the earlier damage O'Reilly isn't able to get the full effect that he wanted. They're both back up to their feet & trading forearm shots, Davey knock Kyle back but he uses the ropes for Nigel, nearly decapitating Richards. Both men are spent, but Kyle manages to fall right on top of Davey for the win.

Match 3

Shin Nihon Puroresu, Ichiban! plays as Giant Bernard is out, then The Haunting plays as The Freakin' Deacon makes his way out

Both men rush each other trading body shots, Bernard goozles Deacon with that taped up right hand of his, but Deacon fights back & hits a Belly to Back Suplex and a Running Splash but only gets a 1 count. Bernard doesn't even want to let him have the satisfaction of holding him down for 2. Shoulder Block then Bernard with a Stalling Butterfly Suplex & follows up with a Gomennasai, but opts to do more damage instead of going for the cover. Bernard measures Deacon for a Bicycle Kick but he catches him with a huge Powerbomb. Deacon now up top & hits a Blockbuster and again only a 1 count. Deacon tries the D-3, but Bernard blocks & Military Presses him before dropping into a Michinoku Driver II. He throws him in the corner & delivers some skull-cracking Headbutts, Cannonball Senton but Deacon ducks to avoid it. Deacon Bomb, but both men are out. Ref Sadistic Sam gets to 8 when both men get back to their feet. A Second Deacon Bomb, but this time Bernard blocks & hits Ichiban he drags Deacon to the corner, Vader Bomb but Deacon gets out of the way. He lines up Bernard, has him goozled tries a Chokeslam but Bernard blocks Bernard Driver but he's not done. Bernard heads to the opposite corner from Deacon then bows to the fans. He starts doing hand signs in rapid succession: Ushi, Saru, U, Ne, I, Tori, Ushi, Uma, Tori, Ne, Tora, Inu, Tora, Mi, Ushi, Hitsuji, Mi, I, Hitsuji, Ne, Saru, Tori, Tatsu, Tori, Ushi, Uma, Hitsuji, Tora, Mi, Ne, Saru, U, I, Tatsu, Hitsuji, Ne, Ushi, Saru, Tori, Ne, I, Tori, then holds up his right hand & spits Black Mist on it as Deacon turns around he's met with The Dark Claw. Bernard picks him up with one hand hits a Claw Slam, but he's not done still with the Dark Claw locked on he picks him up for an STO while still holding on. He counts with the other hand along with the ref. Finally releasing the Dark Claw afterward. Before leaving he does one final hand sign releasing Deacon from the effects of the Black Mist.

Match 4

Blood Generation's music plays as the Hardcore Champion Magnitude Kishiwada makes his way out, the opponent is making his DWF debut, High Energy plays as Hiroshi Tanahashi enters the DWF for the first time.

Both men trade chops as the battle starts. Magnitude with a Lariat & follows up with a couple of Running Boots, Monster Special but Tanahashi kicks out. Goozle, Monster Slam, no blocked, Hiroshi with a Shining Wizard. Kishiwada rolls outside to regroup but Tanahasi takes flight with the Dragon Rocket. They're battling on the outside, Goozle, Monster Slam on the barricade. Magnitude back in & he'll be happy with a count out, but Hiroshi makes it back in. Thunderfire Powerbomb followed by a Brainbuster but Tanahashi kicks out. Enzugiri & the Twelve Six, Cloverleaf but Kishiwada makes it to the ropes. Styles Clash attempt, Magnitude fights out & hits a Mandora Backbreaker, he's not done yet, Mandriller but Tanahashi kicks out again. Now Magnitude is pissed, Running Lariat but Hiroshi counters into a Lightning Speed Cradle for 2. Sling Blade & Moonsault, but Magnitude gets the knees up, Bridging Dragon Suplex, and again Hiroshi kicks out. Magnitude is almost ready to explode with rage! He grabs ref Deep Duck, he wants so bad to cave Duck's skull in with a Mag Driver, but knows if he does it will be a dq & send him out of the Tournament. Kishiwada calms down & turns his attention back to Tanahashi, he sends him into the corner, Avalanche but Hiroshi avoids it. Release Dragon Suplex, Styles Clash but opts not to go for the cover, Tanahashi up top, High Fly Flow connects & that's it.

Hiroshi Tanahashi advances to Round 2

Now Magnitude is plain seething, he grabs Duck, Mag Driver. Kishiwada goes outside the ring & grabs a bag of broken glass, he's looking to send Duck into that broken glass with an Elevated Powerbomb.

Mac: This isn't going to be good.
Doc: We need some help for Duck & we need it now.

Suddenly the lights go out, demonic music starts playing as the screen flashes a crimson red. The lights come back on & nothing.

Mac: What was that about?
Doc: Not sure, but whoever did that probably picked the wrong night to screw with Kishiwada

Magnitude grabs a mic: I don't know what joker did that, but if you want a fight then come on. I've got all night!

Suddenly it starts raining blood from the ceiling covering Magnitude

Then in a distorted voice: After my match with Giant Bernard, I realized I was going to have to evolve, it was time to change. I challenge you Kishiwada for the Hardcore Title, not as The Freakin' Deacon, but as Someone Else, Something Else

Kishiwada who is still covered in the blood: You want a title match, fine. Last time I checked DWF didn't have a match yet for NWA: Summer Sizzle "Beach Bash" so I'll see you there & in a Hardcore Match with no rules, then I'll make what Bernard did to you look like a walk in the fucking park!

Match 5

J'amais Vu plays to bring out Do FIXER's Dragon Kid

Kid is waiting in the ring as Dragon Soul plays to bring out his opponent who is also Kid's mentor, the Legendary Ultimo Dragon

Ultimo & Kid trading chops & kicks in the center to start things out. Ultimo with the Dragon Combo followed by the Aztec Suplex for a 2 count. He goes up top, Cancun Tornado but Kid avoids & locks in Hallelujah but Ultimo makes it to the ropes. Ultimo back up, but Kid's continuing his flash assault, Deja Vu. Ultimo's trying to slow him down, a second Deja Vu, but Ultimo counters into an Atlantinda Backbreaker Drop. He's looking for a Brainbuster, but Kid counters into a Dragon Stunner, Phoenix Splash for 2. He goes up top looking for the Dragonrana, but Ultimo sees it coming & crotches him, Dragonsteiner, Kid holds on upon impact & rolls through into a flash pin. Drop Toehold on Ultimo, Tiger Feint Kick then a Springboard Diamond Dust, opts not to go for the cover yet, Jesus Walks, but only a 2. Ultimo with a Dragon Sleeper, but Kid counters into Bible. Ultimo reaches the ropes. Kid with Messiah & then outside, Ultimo back up, Kid with an Ultra Hurricanrana but Ultimo catches him & counters into a Dragon Bomb & that's it.

Ultimo Dragon advances to Round 2

Match 6

Clutch plays to bring out the other American Wolf, Eddie Edwards then Blood Generation's music hits to bring out the Internet Champion, Gamma

Mac: Before the match gets underway, we just received a notice from Flame
Doc: Well this is interesting, not only is the Tournament spot on the line, but Gamma's Internet Title is also at stake

Gamma is not happy with this development & goes right after Edwards, Belly to Back Suplex followed by a bridging German Suplex for 2. Gamma is looking to get this one over with quickly. Blitzen but Eddie counters into a Dragon Sleeper, he gets Gamma to the mat then focuses his attack on the leg. Multiple elbow drops to Gamma's leg then a knee breaker, single leg lock, but Gamma fights out of the hold. He gives Edwards a taste of his own submission with the Psycho Death Lock, but his leg buckles from the earlier assault. Eddie up top, Double Stomp to the leg, Achilles Lock, Gamma considers tapping but fights & makes it to the ropes. Gamma with a burst of speed delivers the Gamma Slash but is unable to get a cover. Gamma grabs a fork, he stabs it into his own leg to try and get some feeling back into it. Kurotto Bomb but Eddie lands on his feet, & hits a Double Knee Facebreaker. He props Gamma on the top rope in the corner, Chin Checker out of the corner. Die Hard he covers Gamma so tight he puts Gamma's leg on the ropes. Eddie's looking to end it with the Die Hard Driver, but Gamma was playing opossum, he counters into Flashback then sends Edwards into the corner, they're both up top Nadare-Shiki Tombstone Piledriver & that's it.

Gamma advances to Round 2 & retains the Internet Title

Match 7

Blood Generation's theme plays to bring out Naoki Tanisaki, Coming Undone by Korn plays to bring out 'The Blueprint' Matt Morgan

Tanisaki realizes right away that he is very outmatched in size & power, he tries various chops that doesn't have any real effect on Morgan. Verde attempt but Morgan just looks at him like he's crazy for even trying that, then takes his head off with a lariat. Chokeslam followed by the Carbon Footprint, but Matt's not done yet. Naoki Up & Down in the Hellevator & you can count to 100, this one's done

Matt Morgan advances to Round 2
