Look I hate to be THAT guy & I don't want AEW to fail, the business is better when everyone is doing well. That being said with some of TK's choices the past few weeks/months, matches getting thrown out because talents refuse to lose

(AEW planned to have Metalik (fka Máscara Dorada, and Gran Metalik when he was with WWE from 2017-2021) wrestle Komander as one of four matches on the Oct. 20 episode Rampage headlined by Mistico. That show only ended up having three matches however, as Metalik vs. Komander had to be pulled because “Metalik refused to put Komander over.”)

& now this latest news is really making it hard to pull for them when they keep shooting themselves in the foot like this:

As previously noted, Stevie Richards said that his Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix “what went wrong” video was blocked by AEW.

During an appearance on Rene Dupree’s podcast, Richards revealed what AEW agents allegedly said to him…

“I’m not going to say who it is, but it was more than one and there’s not a ton of them, so you can guess. What they said to me was, it was universally like, the conversation was two men, ‘Hey, call me, I want to talk and clear the air about this.’ I make the call, we talk, it was literally the first minute or two, pleasantries, and then, I know we have to talk this out and see. Tell me where I was wrong and where I was right. ‘You were wrong in saying the blame is on the agents or producers. We try to tell these kids what to do and how to be safe, they don’t listen, they can’t be coached,’ and then they went on for ten to 20 minutes telling me how I had no idea how right I was with the video.

They’re collecting checks, and who can blame them. For everybody out there, I don’t want AEW to go out of business. I don’t care about Tony Khan or his dad, they’ll have money. I care about the people who have paid their dues and are producers. I care about the wrestlers and their safety, but I care about the people that I know that are producers and agents in the company. I want them to get paid for as long as possible.”

The Employees are running the Company and doing what they please with it. The one thing AEW has proven (which I thought WCW already did) is you can't let people book their own shit because you get a clusterfuck of a show.

They're giving Ric Flair a check just to show up, hawk his Energy Drink and say Woooo! So I'm glad the company exists if only for that.

AEW has contributed nothing to the Wrestling business. It's contributed good checks to some of the wrestlers in it, and it's caused stupid, easily avoidable injuries to half it's roster.

It's the place where the people that are either too old and washed up for WWE or not good enough for WWE will go for as long as Tony Khan has the money to pay for it I guess, or until he gets tired of it.

They'd have to do consistently good work for a steady year I think to win back any of their doubters at this point, and I just can't see it happening.

AEW's already reach the point that it just is what it is. It'll never get bigger. It'll get less popular as time goes on. It has peaked, and it's downhill from here.

You know what they do in the Major Leagues if "They can't be Coached". They send your ass packing.

The fact that AEW doesn't do that is why all they can hope to do is compete with WWE's C show at best, and maybe won't even maintain that distinction as time goes on.

Having no boundaries is like a river with no banks. And, what is a river with no banks? A swamp. AEW is a muddy, festering swamp wherein everyone has a say and no one can truly take criticism or critique. It's become a cesspool of overpriced "talent" with no direction.

I don't even know why AEW has "producers." They have no real authority because the performers get butt hurt if they aren't allowed to get all their spots in, so they come crying to Tony Khan's office and get their way. This leads to them nearly killing one another in the ring, and half the roster on the shelf.

The problem is that TK never has established any business/professional boundaries because of his insatiable need to be the "cool" boss. Well Tony, I hate to break it to you, but you are not cool. You're just a coked-out, frizzy-haired nerd who treats his father's wallet like an ATM. Eventually, dad will cut you off. So, I hope everyone currently getting a check is saving their money and investing it wisely. Because, the teet will run dry soon enough.

But BobbyTheBrain, I agree. Give Flair checks until he dies. He's more entertaining than anyone else on the roster...literally.

I know right. Tully maybe I could kind of understand as he's always been kind of short with people (even going as far to refuse to train his own daughter).

Arn at least is the guy who's brain I'd want to pick for wrestling knowledge since he's been in the business at every level for 40 years. If nothing else guys should be able to at least learn how to do a believable promo and psychology from him.

I posted a story on the Discord server yesterday that says AEW is on track to lose $34 million for 2023. That's WCW-level losses in the couple of years before they were bought by WWE.

The story also stated that AEW's talent budget is $85 million. That's insane for the level of so-called talent they have. Outside of maybe 10ish people who are "money" names, that roster is garbage.

I don't know that AEW will die anytime soon. I suspect it'll keep limping along as long as Tony feels like it's cool to have Wrestlers as his buddies or whatever, but I think all Hardcore fans with some knowledge of Wrestling's past can see that this is just Herb Abrams's UWF with a bigger budget.

Except Herb Abrams was FAR more entertaining than TK as a character.
