There's been a lot of lawsuits recently, but this may be the craziest one as WWE & AEW are being sued:
A curious pro-wrestling-related lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court. In the past few hours, writer Anthony Duane Wilson has filed a lawsuit against WWE and All Elite Wrestling over an alleged plagiarism case.
The document, written mostly by hand, guarantees that the two American companies took advantage of their ideas in the creative section. Starting with WWE, Wilson claimed in the lawsuit that the company and its contractors “made use of his creative works without his permission, in violation of laws against the characters, names and phrases he contributed to the company.”
The following is addressed directly to All Elite Wrestling. Wilson stated that he was on the verge of starting his own company and even tried to recruit “former Bullet Club members” to join his project. “They stole ideas from me on my social networks, and removed me without giving credit or the part I am entitled to as a creator”, says the writer in the legal document that was filed in the Northern District of Ohio, in Youngstown.
Anthony Duane Wilson sued WWE and AEW on charges of plagiarism, market damage, product damage, personal injury and economic damage. The writer stated that both ventures cost him work in and out of professional wrestling. “Several of these violations were done maliciously to damage my reputation and career by trying to embarrass me or waste my time.”
The complainant assured that he wants control of AEW, wants a public apology from both companies, having also requested a financial settlement of 250 Million Dollars to repair the aforementioned losses, WWE board chair, WWE stock for freelance work, business tactics, return all ships & plunder.
