William Regal, Mauro Ranallo, and Jim Cornette welcomed fans to the program. They hyped a huge episode that would begin with the promised announcement from company owner Jordan Richards.
“Ladies and Gentlemen” by Saliva played to bring out a Jordan, who is rarely seen on TV these days. He was joined by Commissioner Sting. Richards began to explain his announcement by asking fans if they keep up with the NWA’s Transfer Center page, which lists all transactions made by NWA member territories. Jordan acknowledged that several signings have taken place recently. He also noted that these signings are of the female persuasion. Richards noted that is for a specific reason: “Beginning next week, NWA: Show Time is back in the women’s wrestling business!” A new women’s division will commence next week on the program. And, in two weeks, a new Women’s Championship belt will be introduced. Richards then gave Sting the floor. Commissioner Sting noted that the format of the Show Time Power Hour would be changing as well. The episodes now will feature a Legends Division match, a Women’s Division match, and a Men’s Division match. Each division will be eligible to main event the program, depending upon the importance of its particular match that week.
The commentary team then sent the broadcast to Legends Hostess Cathy Kelley and the Legends Commentary Team.
Match One ~ Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, & a mystery partner with James J. Dillon vs. George South, Jeff Jarrett, & Masked Superstar
Superstar was making a guest appearance in the division. Arn and Tully pointed to the entrance, where a familiar refrain played that brought out “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. The crowd was stunned, as were the opponents. But, three times of the original “Four Horsemen” were together in a ring for the first time since 1988. The match was fun and competitive. The finish saw South submit to the “Figure Four Leglock.”
Winners = “The Horsemen” by submission in 10:22
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman vs. Aleister Black
This was a bizarre match, especially during the finishing sequence. The referee got knocked down inadvertently. Alexa Bliss came to ringside and everyone assumed she was there to distract Black, given his association with “The Fiend.” But, she shot a fireball in the face of Braun instead. Braun writhed in pain, then was nailed with “Black Mass” by Aleister. The referee was regaining his senses during the kick and counted the three.
Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Aleister Black by pinfall in 16:11
Black took the championship belt and then bowed to Bliss. A sinister smile crossed her face as she stepped into the ring and raised Black’s hand. As they proceeded toward the ramp, the lights went out. When they came back on, the arena was red and “The Fiend” stood on the entrance way. Bliss and Black were shaken, and went through the crowd. The lights went back out. When they came up again, “The Fiend” was gone.
Match Three ~ “The Four Horsemen” (Chris Jericho, CM Punk, and “Glorious Outlaws” {“Glorious” Bobby Roode & “Outlaw” James Storm}) with Maryse Ouellett and AJ Lee vs. “Doomsday” (Killer Kross, Kevin Steen, Mikael Judas, & Austin Theory with “Modern Day Messiah” Seth Rollins and Scarlett)
This was a faction war that really began on social media between Jericho and Rollins. But, once it was time for the bout to commence, Rollins stuck the towering Judas in his place. In the end of a melee, Theory was nailed with a “Codebreaker” and stumbled into “Go to Sleep” for the pinfall.
Winners = “The Four Horsemen” by pinfall in 20:38
Regal and company closed out the episode with great excitement over the night’s happenings.
