As I was nearing the end of this week's brilliant Show Time Power Hour post, something glitched on my laptop and I lost it. Normally, I'd rewrite the whole thing, but it's my birthday, so I'm feeling slightly lazy. Plus, I still have an episode of Femme Fatales World to type up. For the sake of retyping it all, I'll give brief highlights.
William Regal opened the episode with Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, hyping Starrcade coming close to fruition. The trio then hyped this week's action, which would include Johnny Gargano defending the Cruiserweight Championship against his nemesis Angel Garza, Nick Aldis challenging Jake Hager for the Mid-Atlantic Championship, and "The Revival" battling Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the Tag Team Championship in a dream match. Regal then threw it to Ring Announcer JoJo Offerman.
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Championship ~ Johnny "Wrestling" Gargano with "Poison Pixie" Candice LeRae vs. "Latin Heartthrob" Angel Garza
LeRae was tossed by the referee during the match due to interference. The referee got knocked out and LeRae made another appearance. She held Garza along the ropes and Johnny ran toward them. Garza ducked and Gargano nailed his wife, knocking her to the floor. Garza hit a "Super Kick" to the back of Johnny's head, then landed the "Wing Clipper." The referee awoke for the cover and made the count.
Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Champion = Angel Garza by pinfall in 17:19
After the break, "The Varsity Club" was interfered and hyped up their eight-man "Streetfight" with "The Four Horsemen" at Starrcade. Then, Jake Hager made a prediction that he'd break Nick Aldis' ankle and successfully defend the Mid-Atlantic Championship.
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ Jake Hager with "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle & Eve Torres vs. "National Treasure" Nick Aldis with Kamille
During the match, Ric Flair and Chris Jericho of "The Four Horsemen" came out and provided a distraction while Hager had the "Patriot Lock" on Aldis. He let go and began to jaw with Jericho. When he turned back to Aldis, Jake was caught in a "Small Package" and pinned.
Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Nick Aldis by pinfall in 25:09
After a break, the main event was on.
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ Kota Ibushi & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette
This was shaping up to be every bit the dream tag team match anticipated. Unfortunately, after ten minutes, the match was marred with the blatant and malicious interference of "War Machine." Therefore, the match was thrown out.
Winners = no contest in 10:12 (Ibushi & Tanahashi retain)
Commissioner Sting came out and made a "Triple Threat" match for next week between the three teams, with the titles once again on the line.
