AEW Dynamite Discussion

Alex Marvez is knocking on the Young Bucks’ dressing room door hoping for an interview.

He initially gets no answer but the door opens as soon as he starts talking again and the Bucks lay him out with a Superkick Party!

Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford make their entrance.

Kip waves Tony Schiavone out of the ring and takes charge of the segment. He says everybody wants to know who his best man is, and he’s not going to take too long to get to the point. He waves to the entrance area and New York indie wrestler Puf comes out! Kip runs up to the stage and says he appreciates that he subscribed to his Twitch channel, but he’s not his best man, he’s just “the best.”

Sabian introduces his best man again... and Brian Pillman, Jr. comes to the ring! But again his is a case of mistaken identity, because Kip texted him that he’s “the best, man” with a comma, and they’re not even friends, so he waves him off.

Third time’s the charm, and we get entrance music this time, so you know it’s real.

He’s shot from behind... IT’S RUSEV DAY Y’ALL! MIRO IS HERE IN AEW! AND HE’S BLONDE!

He gets on the mic and says ten years in the same house under the same glass ceiling with an imaginary brass ring... well you can take that brass ring and shove it up your ass! Elite recognizes elite, and he loves Kip and of course he’ll be his best man, but he didn’t pick him because he’s a best man, but because he’s THE best man.

You tune into his Twitch, you see he’s the best gamer, well in AEW you’ll see him take guys out night after night. His name is Miro, and he’s All Elite.

We get a sit-down interview with “Hangman” Adam Page.

He says he’s feeling good and Tony Schiavone asks him to can the stock answer. Page says they had fans at All Out, and not many, and you could have heard them, but he didn’t. For thirty minutes he didn’t hear anyone make a sound, and it was like everyone was holding their breath, like they knew it was inevitable that they’d lose their tag titles and fall apart.

But he doesn’t think it was inevitable— FTR shouldn’t have had that title shot in the first place. Kenny was right, the Young Bucks should have won the gauntlet, and it’s his fault that he’s lost two of his best friends and he was stupid enough to think that FTR were like him just because they look like him and act like him.

He’s like everybody else, full of blood and bones, but he feels like he’s actually full of poison. He says this is probably his toughest test, but he’s gonna get through it.

The Inner Circle vs Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss:

Double Hotshot then a Double BUlldog and Dropkick, Kiss with a Spinning Heel Kick , Stereo Missile Dropkicks take Inner Circle down, Janela lights up Jericho with a chair to the back, he looks to launch off it, but Jericho catches him with a Back Suplex, Kiss with a rollup on Hager for a 2 count, Basement Superkick, but Jericho makes the save, Hager with a Northern Lariat, Hager Bomb, but Kiss gets the trash can up, Cactus Clothesline takes Jericho to the ramp, Jericho sends Janela into the lighting rig, Catapult Spinebuster combo through a table, Kiss with Diving Crossbody takes down both of the Inner Circle, Axes & Os then a Rolling Elbow to Hager, up top, but Jericho with the fire extinguisher and Hager catches him with the Sambo Suplex into the Kata-Gatame which keeps Kiss down for the win

Jericho gets on the mic and says the Inner Circle had a terrible night of losses at All Out and Sammy Guevara’s out hurt, but now it’s the future and Hager and he are going to commit to running up victories in the tag division and come for the titles.

MJF gets a promo from his campaign office where he decries “Dictator Jon” for cheating like a coward, but you can’t blame a scorpion for stinging you and he’s figured out who’s to blame— this campaign was supposed to create change, give hope to the hopeless, and make him a world champion, but they all blew it and they’re all fired!

He orders them to get out and gets in Nina’s face for smiling and says she’s sick of her disgusting crooked yellow teeth. Wardlow addresses him from behind and MJF berates him for costing him the title, too, calling him an illiterate oaf before laughing and asking if they have a problem, because the last he checked, Tony Khan doesn’t sign his checks, he does.

Anyone in their right mind would have fired him after Saturday, but MJF is his only friend and the only one who sees the potential in him, so he better get his act together lest he put his whole family out on the street. Wardlow says they don’t have a problem and MJF says now is a time for planning to get back on top, where they belong.

Taz is hearing some scuttlebutt that Darby Allin is here.

Darby’s music plays, but Ricky Starks makes his entrance, painted up like Darby.

He gets on the mic and says it finally happened, he got injured. He dislocated his pinky and he’s got thumbtacks in his foot and he can’t go skateboarding with his friends. He says Allin writes it everywhere that he’s relentless, or is it that he’s reckless? There’s a reason nobody wants to tag with him and he sits by himself in the back, and it’s because he’s reckless.

But Starks will show him the meaning of relentless, and the next time Darby shows his face here, he’s going to beat his ass.

Tay Conti vs Nyla Rose:

Conti with a Question Mark Kick then a rollup for a near fall, Kneebar, Nyla rips at the face to break the hold, Conti tries for the Sunset Flip, but Nyla counters into a Tree Slam, Chokeslam countered with a Sol Naciente, Nyla powers up & hits The Beast Bomb for the win

Vickie Guerrero asks to be excused. She says the Vicious Vixens are here to make a statement and they’re not going anywhere, which leads Nyla to draw Conti up again but Hikaru Shida makes the save with a kendo stick in hand before anything can happen!

The Bucks were fined 5K each for Superkicking Marvez

Kenny Omega has a sitdown interview with Jim Ross.

He says these things happen, and when you’ve done this for twenty years at the highest level, winning and losing belts is all part of the game. He agrees that he and Page had chemistry that held them together in the ring, and that’s why he thought this is what he was meant to do in AEW. He had expectations of being a singles star put upon him, to be the ace of the company, and he lost his way.

It wasn’t until he found Hangman that he found a sense of purpose, and he says they have such a deep tag team division, and to get to the level they got they had to dig deep and learn about themselves, and what he learned about Adam Page, he doesn’t particularly like. They had a good run, but Hangman had better make other plans if he’s thinking about trying to reconcile.

He gave a year of his life to tag team wrestling, but it’s time to go back to singles action.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show for us and explains that next week’s airdate is up in the air due to NBA playoffs.

Jurassic Express in the ring for a tag match against FTR when the Young Bucks come down and lay the referee out with a Superkick Party!

Refs swarm the ring and help their fallen comrade out while the Bucks walk off together. They go backstage and throw a stack of money at Tony Khan, intending to pay the fine they certainly just earned themselves. This is very much the PWG Bucks that made a name for themselves by just being complete assholes.

Alex Marvez is backstage where Matt Hardy is screaming agony on the floor, clutching his knee. Private Party are there and offer comment, saying they were talking strategy and then he got attacked out of nowhere. Chris Jericho and Jake Hager roll up to mock Hardy saying they might have to amputate Matt's leg and threaten Private Party

Frankie Kazarian vs Hangman Adam Page:

Kaz with a Sunset Flip for a 2 count, Cravat Knees followed by a Cravatplex, Page with a Springboard Lariat then takes Kaz down with a Slingshot Plancha, Kaz goes for a Crossbody, but Page catches him with a Fallaway Slam then follows with a Standing Shoot Star Press for a near fall, Kaz with a Slingshot DDT for a near fall, Tomikaze blocked, but Kaz with a Backslide for a near fall, Page tries one of his own, but Kaz counters into The Tomikaze, but only gets a near fall, Page with a Sliding Lariat followed by a Wrist-Clutch Death Valley Bomb for a near fall, Kaz with a Slingshot Ace Crusher gets a near fall, Springboard, but Page counters into a Sit-Out Powerbomb for a 2 count, Page looks to set up for the kill, Kaz slides to the floor, Page with a Lariat on the floor, Kaz blocks THe Buckshot, Page blocks the Slingshot & hits The Buckshot Lariat for the win

Page chills in the ring seemingly hoping Kenny Omega will join him, but Omega does not, and Hangman has a beer
