William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Last week, we had the unexpected and bizarre appearance of a mysterious masked man wearing a CM Punk t-shirt and coming out to CM Punk's old entrance music. He interrupted the Mid-Atlantic Championship match and indirectly cost Ricochet that championship. We still have no answers as of tonight, but we hope to get some!"
Mauro Ranallo: "That was insane! And, the world wants to know, who was that masked man?!"
Jim Cornette: "Are you guys ribbing me right now?! Can you possibly be serious?! It was CM Punk himself! Could it not be more obvious?! He finally has come back to get some sort of revenge and to skirt around his suspension!"
Regal: "Now Jim, let's not jump to conclusions. We know nothing at this point. We need all the facts before we begin making assumptions. Fans, the World Champion Adam Cole will address a situation that occurred on December twenty-second at an IUC event, where he was attacked by Braun Strowman. He will join us via satellite from Australia, where he currently is on tour defending the championship. Not only that, but we have a great night of action planned! There will be a 'Fatal Four-Way' tag team match to determine the next team to challenge Bobby Roode and James Storm. Listen to this line-up: 'War Machine,' the Usos, Gable and Benjamin, and 'The Insurrection!' That should be a classic! Speaking of classics, new Television Champion Matt Riddle will be challenged by Zack Sabre, Jr.! These two have been in some barnburners in the past and tonight should be no different! If that's not enough, our main event will pit AJ Lee and Ricochet against 'Team Little Big' in a 'Mixed Tag Team' match! So, let's get this action-packed hour underway!"
Match One ~ "Fatal Four-Way Tag Team" match ~ Jimmy & Jey Uso with "The Bad Guy" Scott Hall vs. "The Insurgence" (Kevin Steen & Claudio Castagnoli0 with Jim Cornette vs. "War Machine" ("WarBeard" Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe) vs. "Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable with "Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle
Before the match could get underway, this entrance played on the tron:
"The New Hart Foundation" came to the entrance. Teddy Hart had a microphone.
Teddy Hart: "Now, it seems to us that you have left a very prominent and important team out of this match! 'Killer Elite Squad" has wrecked bodies worldwide and they deserve a title shot as much or more than any of these other teams!
So, how about making this a 'Fatal Five-Way?!'"
The Usos, "War Machine," and the Gable/Benjamin combo seemed to agree. Jim Cornette protested loudly that it was a convoluted mess already. Commissioner Ric Flair came out with a microphone.
Ric Flair: "Well, well, well. It seems 'The Hart Foundation' wants in on the action! I'm in a good mood, so I say, what the heck?! The more, the merrier!"
Regal: "Oh my! 'Killer Elite Squad' has interjected themselves into the match!"
This was as frenetic a match as we have seen. No one was surprised by the amount of action involved. Every team had moments of brilliance. Several had many moments. Chad Gable unleashed "Deadlift German Suplexes" on at least one member of every other team. "War Machine" wrecked everyone else at some point. The Usos hit "Double Super Kicks" on every team. Ultimately, the Usos took out Gable and had him dead to rights after the "Super Kick/Superfly Splash" combo finisher. But, Davey Boy Smith, Jr. slid into the ring and threw Jimmy Uso out, allowing Lance Hoyt to steal the pinfall.
Winners = "Killer Elite Squad" by pinfall in 16:14
Regal: "What a match and a very chaotic ending!"
Ranallo: "Davey Boy Smith, Jr. and Lance Hoyt expert tactics, not only to get into the match, but to win it!"
Regal: "They will face Bobby Roode and James Storm for the Tag Team Championship in the near future! That should be a great match! Fans, let's take a break and prepare ourselves for the inevitable grumblings of our broadcast colleague Jim Cornette when we return."
Regal: "We're back. Okay Jim, let's get your rant out of the way!"
Cornette: "All I'll say is that there were at least four too many teams out there in contention for a title shot! We were robbed once again! I'm done!"
Regal: "Wow! That was surprisingly brief. But, your grievances are duly noted. Fans, up next is a Television championship match that should tear the house down! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ "King of Bros" Matt Riddle vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. with Joanna Rose
The prevailing narrative in this match was that Sabre looked to avenge his fallen partner (whose ribs were injured in the title change) and hoped to bring the TV Title back to "Euro Trash." Sabre had the advantage on the mat in the early going of the match. Riddle fired back with a big "Running Senton" for a two-count. Riddle had the upper hand and was dominating with strikes until Sabre blocked a kick and grabbed an "Ankle Lock." Sabre began working over Riddle’s ankle. Sabre began manipulating Riddle’s toes, but Riddle managed to fend him off with a couple of big chops. Sabre got the arm and leg combination submission, but Riddle managed to get to the ropes. Sabre tried to strike with Riddle a short time later, but Riddle wiped him out with an "Up Kick." Sabre mounted Riddle and tried to get him into a submission, but Riddle countered it into a "Fisherman Buster" for a near fall. Riddle slipped out of an "Armbar" and grabbed a "Cross Armbreaker." Sabre slipped out of it and got a "Grapevine" ankle submission. Riddle managed to escape and he eventually hit a one-armed "German Suplex." They went back and forth and both men were down after Riddle hit a big "Powerbomb." Sabre went for a bridging pin, but Riddle grabbed a "Rear Naked Choke." Sabre kicked out and got a bridging pin for a near fall. Sabre hit "Penalty Kicks" and got a flurry of near falls. Sabre then grabbed a "Double Leg" submission and worked over one of Riddle’s ankles, but Riddle managed to crawl to the ropes. Sabre and Riddle exchanged blows and Sabre kicked Riddle’s leg out from underneath him. He then stood on Riddle's head and knee. Sabre continued to stomp on Riddle’s knee. Riddle hit a big slap and then a "Ripcord Knee Strike." Riddle hit "Bro to Sleep" and a "German Suplex" with a bridge for a two-count. Riddle went for a "Senton" off the top. Sabre caught him and went for a "Cross Armbreaker." Riddle has his hands clasped top block it. Sabre then got the hold locked, but Riddle rolled on top of him for a two-count. Sabre cinched in the "Octopus Hold." Riddle tried to counter, but Sabre reversed a "Tombstone" and back to the "Octopus" again. Riddle escaped and hit a "Gotch Tombstone" for a near fall. Riddle went for the "Bromission" and got a "Double Leg" submission. Riddle rolled through and got the "Bromission" locked in for the tapout win.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Television Champion = Matt Riddle by submission in 18:31
Regal: "As promised, what a match!"
Ranallo: "Matt Riddle is on fire these days! He's taken out Aleister Black and now his best friend!"
Cornette: "Matt Riddle's the real deal. Sabre too. Matt earned that victory tonight!"
Regal: "We're going to take another break. When we return, we'll hear from the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole. Stay with us!"
One of the commercials that aired was a promo for NWA: Show Time with Interviewer Vanessa Craft and the tagline, "NWA: Show Time is serving up the best action on the planet!"
Regal: "We're back. As promised, World Champion Adam Cole is standing by via satellite to give his thoughts on the attack he suffered at the hands of Braun Strowman at the IUC event 'I'll Wrestle for Christmas' on December twenty-second. Let's hear from him now."
Adam Cole: "Who's ready for story time with Adam Cole, bay bay? I want to address the elephant in the room and that's how Braun Strowman was allowed to show up unannounced and jump the World Champion, putting him through a table! We're talking about THE Heavyweight Champion of the World put through a table! Not only should Braun Strowman's rematch with me be stripped from him, but his contract should be terminated immediately! He put in danger all of the title defenses that I had lined up across the world! If I wasn't the man and athlete I am, I would have missed several dates, which would have taken money out of the NWA Board of Governors' pockets and would have been a PR nightmare! I've forced myself to work hurt to defend this championship! I've never missed a shot and I won't! But, that piece of trash Braun Strowman needs to be stopped! I have filed a petition to the NWA Board of Governors to that end. So, I don't think 'The Monster Among Men' will be around too much longer! In the meantime, I'll continue to be the best d*** pro wrestler on the planet!"
Regal: "If I'm hearing Adam Cole correctly, he has petitioned the NWA Board of Governors to have Braun Strowman's World Championship rematch revoked!"
Ranallo: "That's what it sounds like to me!"
Cornette: "That or he's trying to get the guy fired! I get it. Braun Strowman attacked the number one wrestler in the world. Adam Cole is the NWA's top commodity right now and he was savagely attacked, which puts future World Title defenses in jeopardy! That takes money out of the collective pocket of the NWA! Adam Cole is absolutely correct with that statement!"
Regal: "Correct or not, I believe he's trying to stay out of the ring with Braun Strowman because he knows his title reign would be in jeopardy! Either way, we'll see how this all plays out. Fans, speaking of Braun, we're ready for our main event! Before we get to that, Ricochet and AJ Lee are standing by with Vanessa Craft. Let's get a quick word."
Vanessa Craft: "I am here with Ricochet and AJ Lee, who are about to face 'Team Little Big' in the main event."
Ricochet: "I don't want to talk about the main event. We'll win that, period. I can run circles around Braun and Alexa can't hold a candle to AJ. I want to talk about CM Punk costing me the Mid-Atlantic Championship last week!"
Craft: "I'm not sure I follow. Are you insinuating that the masked man who made his entrance was indeed CM Punk himself?"
Ricochet: "I'm not insinuating it! I'm saying it outright! He is violating his suspension! He needs to be fired!"
Craft: "Honestly, no one can prove that man was CM Punk. AJ, Punk is your husband. What say you?"
AJ Lee: "I'm not going to get drawn into this discussion right now. Phil has said nothing to me about last week. So, I don't know for sure."
Ricochet: "We're done here. Let's go, AJ."
Regal: "Well, it's clear what Ricochet thinks about the masked man. Fans, let's get this main event underway!"
Match Three ~ "Mixed Tag Team" match ~ "Team Little Big" ("The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman & "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss) vs. "The One & Only" Ricochet & AJ Lee
This was a fairly quick match. Ricochet wanted no part of Braun and it was clear from the start. AJ did best Alexa on many exchanges. The edn came when Ricochet was in the ring with Braun and the masked man made another rather ominous appearance, which distracted Ricochet and caused him to get cauht with Braun's "Running Powerslam."
Winners = "Team Little Big" by pinfall in 10:55
Regal: "Once again, we've seen this mysterious masked man! Who is he and what does he want? Why does he seem to be targeting Ricochet?! Fans, tune in next Tuesday on TBS to the Show Time Power Hour to find out! We hope to nail this man down for an interview. Go ahead and log onto www.nwashowtime.com to catch After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
After talking at length concerning the mysterious masked man who's been making surprise appearances, Kelley signed off.
