William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are 'Maestro of Momma Mia' Mauro Ranallo and 'Louisville Lip' Jim Cornette! Men, last week's episode was controversial, to say the least!"
Mauro Ranallo: "Are you kidding me?! Braun Strowman literally hijacked the 'Christmas Rumble' and won it! It was epic!"
Jim Cornette: "Epic?! It was highway robbery! He stole a spot in the match he wasn't picked for and cost my man Kevin Steen the victory!"
Regal: "While he was not officially chosen for the match, there was that mysterious moment where Commissioner Ric Flair drew a name and discarded it after claiming it was smudged and he couldn't read the name. That was highly suspicious."
Ranallo: "It's clear to me that he did not want Braun Strowman in the match to protect the interests of 'The Richards Collective,' which he has historically favored."
Cornette: "I'm not saying Ric rigged the match. I'm just saying that Kevin Steen got robbed and I demand fairness!"
Regal: "Regardless of how it happened, Braun Strowman won the match and immediately picked a World Championship rematch with Adam Cole, as one would have expected. So, we'll see when that match actually takes place. Well, tonight's episode promises to give us some more fireworks of its own. In our main event..."
Just then, this entrance theme played on the tron.
The Rock: "The Rock is pissed off! The Rock was picked number forty in last week's 'Christmas Rumble' fair and square! The Rock was making his way down the aisle to lay the smack down on thirty-nine other superstars, when that no good, conniving hairy, oversized ogre Braun Strowman came down and ruined it! The Rock's biggest moment of two thousand eighteen was stolen! The Rock demands that Braun' s victory be overturned and that justice is done!"
Commissioner Ric Flair's entrance hit.
The Commissioner came out styling and profiling, as he normally does. He strutted down the aisle with a microphone in hand.
Ric Flair: "The Commissioner is live and in living color in Charlotte, North Carolina tonight! Woooo! Now Rock, your spot was stolen by Braun Strowman last week. He went on to win the match. So, it stands to reason that, if given the chance, you would have won the match. The way I see it, that presents a problem and it must be rectified here tonight. Braun had no right to be in that match because he was not chosen in the random draw. So, I am hereby nullifying his victory from last week."
That announcement was met with a chorus of boos that quickly changed to resounding cheers when this entrance theme played on the tron.
Braun Strowman came stomping down the ramp with Alexa Bliss en tow.
Braun Strowman: "Ric Flair, you tried to screw me last week and now you're screwing me this week! You know I should have been in that match!"
Flair: "Wait a minute! That match was a random draw event and you're name didn't get drawn!"
Strowman: "Yes it did! You drew my name and threw it away! You didn't want me in the match because you knew I'd win and that I'd challenge Adam Cole for my World Title rematch!"
Flair: "Are you accusing me of rigging the match?! I drew forty names out of a hat and yours wasn't one of them! End of story!"
Strowman: "Then, what's this?!"
Alexa Bliss stepped forward with a crinkled slip of paper in her hand.
Flair: "It looks like trash to me!"
Alexa Bliss: "Take a closer look, Commissioner."
Bliss held the slip up to the camera, clearly displaying the name "Braun Strowman" in bold, black print.
Strowman: "I know you're and old man, but surely you could have read that!"
Flair: "Where did that come from?! You could have printed that out at home and brought it here tonight! That proves nothing!"
Strowman: "You know where it came from! Alexa found it on the floor where you were drawing names! You picked my name out of the hat and threw it away! You tried to steal my chance to win, but it backfired!"
The Rock: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! The Rock has heard all he's going to hear from you, Braun Strowman! You talk about having a spot stolen! You stole the spot that belonged to the jabroni beating, pie eating, most electrifying man in sports! And now, you're out here crying about having the win taken away that you never deserved in the first place! The Rock should be out here picking a match, instead he's out here arguing with Shrek! This man is standing here believing he should be the winner! Well, The Rock says this man didn't win anything!"
Strowman: "Well, Braun Strowman says, I'm not a man! I'm a monster and The Rock is about to get these hands!"
Flair: "Hold on a minute, big fella! We're not going to do it that way right now! Braun Strowman, you shouldn't been in the match, period! So, you shouldn't have won!"
Strowman: "But, I did and now you're trying to hold me back to benefit your buddies!"
Flair: "I'm not going to be accused of anything! I'm the Commissioner of this company and my authority is to be expected! So, your victory is null and void, period! But, I've just gotten a brilliant idea! Braun, if you want the opportunity to claim a victory, you're going to have to earn it! But, I am going to make this situation fair for everyone involved. So, here's what we're going to do. You are going to be in a 'Gauntlet' match against the three men who were in the final four competitors in the 'Christmas Rumble!' Kevin Steen, Matt Riddle, and Bray Wyatt will take you on one right after the other! If you can beat all three of them, you will move on to face The Rock! The winner of that match will be declared the winner of 'Christmas Rumble' and will pick the match of his choice! Oh and by the way, that 'Gauntlet' match will start next! Woooo!"
Ranallo: Momma Mia!"
Cornette: "Kevin Steen is back in it! So, you're telling me there's a chance!"
Regal: "Braun Strowman will have to go through four men in one night to be declared the winner of the 'Christmas Rumble!' Hold onto your seats, fans! It's about to get interesting! We have to take a quick commercial break! When we return, Braun Strowman will attempt to run the 'Gauntlet!'"
Regal: "We're back! Braun Strowman is in the ring! Alexa Bliss is at ringside! Who's his first opponent?!"
The fans went crazy as Matt Riddle came strutting to the ring.
Match One ~ "Gauntlet" match ~ "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman with "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss vs. "King of Bros" Matt Riddle
Riddle went at Strowman fast and furious, sticking and moving to keep out of the big man's grasp. The ploy worked for several minutes, as the former MMA star had the hulking Braun off balance. Once Strowman finally did get his hands on Riddle, he took over. Matt had a couple of more moments of offense for the rest of the match, but it pretty much was dictated by Strowman. Riddle went to a "Flying Bodypress," but was caught by Braun and driven into the mat with the "Running Powerslam."
Winner of leg one = Braun Strowman by pinfall in 10:20
Regal: "Braun Strowman has taken out Matt Riddle. We'll wait to see who his next opponent is after the break! Stay with us, fans!"
Regal: "Okay, the sixty-second rest period is over. let's go back to the ring for leg two of the 'Gauntlet!'"
Match Two ~ "Gauntlet" match ~ "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman with "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss vs. "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis
Wyatt was able to get in some considerable offense. Braun began to show some signs of fatigue. He is not used to working this long. Most of his matches, even against main event talent, are over in less than fifteen minutes. The fresh Bray took advantage. He wore down his former disciple and seemed to take great pleasure in doing so. Bray and Kanellis began to taunt both Strowman and Bliss on the outside. Alexa took all she could stand and went after Maira. This distracted Bray, who is very protective of Maria. He left the ring to stop Bliss in her tracks. Once he reentered the ring, Bray was met immediately with a "Running Powerslam" that Braun hit out of nowhere.
Winner of leg two ~ Braun Strowman by pinfall in 15:08
Regal: "Braun pulled out another victory!"
Ranallo: "He's the worst for wear, but he's hanging in there!"
Cornette: "Not for long, gentlemen! He's about to run into the rightful winner of the 'Christams Rumble,' Kevin Steen! Kill Kevin, kill!"
Regal: "As Jim Cornette takes his leave, we will go to commercial. We'll be back with the exciting conclusion of the 'Gauntlet' match in just a moment!"
Regal: "Okay fans, we're back! Let's go back up to the ring!"
Match Three ~ "Gauntlet" match ~ "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman with "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss vs. Kevin Steen with Jim Cornette
Steen went to work on Strowman immediately, not allowing him to get a respite. Braun was quickly wearing down and had lost some of the steam on his moves. Steen was fresher and faster. He moved around the ring like a cat compared to the now plodding Braun. Kevin actually hit his signature "Package Piledriver" and everyone thought is was over. The entire building exploded when Strowman kicked out at 2.9. Cornette was beside himself at ringside and Steen slid over to the corner and put his head in his hands, not knowing what it would take to put away the exhausted Strowman. Steen finally got up and began clubbing away at Braun. Strowman took one last ounce of strength and shoved Steen away. Kevin bounced off the referee, who went sprawling. Cornette looked to capitalize on the downed official. He hopped up on the apron with his trusty tennis racket. Bliss followed him up and confronted him. Cornette jabbed the racket handle into her gut, taking Bliss out. He then threw the racket to Steen. Kevin wound up and took a home run swing at Strowman, who ducked. Braun then uncorked a thunderous overhand chop to Steen's chest. Kevin dropped the racket and writhed in pain as he staggered backward. Braun grabbed the racket and walloped Steen in the head as he turned back around. Kevin dropped like a shot. The weary Strowman tossed the racket outside and made the cover. The referee had begun to rouse and saw the pin attempt. As he began to count, Cornette tried to stop it, but was blasted by Bliss in retribution for the racket shot.
Winner of the third leg and the match = Braun Strowman by pinfall in 14:19 (total match time of 39:47)
Regal: "Braun Strowman has done it! After nearly forty minutes of action, he has earned the right to face The Rock next!"
Before anything else could be said, The Rock came out and pounced on Strowman. He stomped him into the mat as fans booed vociferously. Once the referee got The Rock off Braun, he called for the bell.
Match Four ~ The Rock with Eve Torres vs. "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman with "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss
This was all Rock. Braun had very little left in the tank. He fought valiantly, but The Rock simply was too fresh and unscathed. He continued to hammer on Braun. It looked for quite a while like Strowman's loss was a matter of time. He wilted under the weight of The Rock's relentless pressure. But, then a funny thing began to happen. He began to get angry. The Rock spat in his face and that awoke the seemingly sleeping giant in Braun Strowman. He began to snarl in disgust as The Rock continued to beat on him. Finally, The Rock threw a right hand that Braun shrugged off. Braun then began to throw fists of his own at The Rock, knocking him backward with each one. Braun seemed energized and began to gain strength. The Rock sought cover, but there was none. Eventually, The Rock snatched back momentum and went for "The People's Elbow," but Strowman evaded the move. when The Rock got back to his feet, he ate the "Running Powerslam."
Winner = Braun Strowman by pinfall in 12:11
Regal: "Four wins in one night for Braun Strowman!"
Ranallo: "Whether or not he should have been in the match last week is irrelevant! Braun Strowman is the winner of 'Christmas Rumble' and will get the match of his choice!"
Cornette: "He cheated to beat Kevin Steen two weeks in a row! He shouldn't even be here! He should be fined, suspended, and barred from wrestling in this company!"
Strowman grabbed a microphone.
Strowman: "As I was saying last week, I want Adam Cole for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship!"
The fans howled with delight as Braun roared and raised his hands high.
Regal: "What an hour! We've seen a positively superhuman effort from 'The Monster Among Men!' Fans, we're out of timje for this week. Kelley recapped every man Braun defeated tonight, reading their accomplishments like a laundry list of accolades. She concluded her broadcast with the parting thought of, "a monster victory for a monster of a man!" With that, she signed off.
