William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! We have an exciting hour of television tonight!"
Mauro Ranallo: "Man, do we ever! Tonight will be unlike anything we've seen on this program!"
Jim Cornette: "And, when one of my men wins this thing, I want you two to bow down and reverence the greatest faction in the sport, 'Camp Cornette!'"
Regal: "That remains to be seen, Jim. So, let's reveal to the fans the details of this special event! It has been dubbed the 'Christmas Rumble!' This is an 'Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal' that will be comprised of forty competitors! The winner will win a contract worth the match and stipulation of his choosing! Commissioner Flair already has drawn names and numbers for the participants! We will start with numbers one and two. After two minutes, number three will enter the match. Every sixty seconds, another wrestler will enter until all forty have been introduced. The last man standing is the winner! Now, all of our current champions are out of the match. But, everyone else on the roster is eligible and Commissioner Flair says he drew them at random. If anyone is eliminated during a commercial break, we will air the elimination. So, without further adieu, let's go to the ring!"

During the match, the commentators continued to speculate on the entrance number of Braun Strowman. There was one peculiar instance in the back where Commissioner Ric Flair drew a name, then quickly discarded it, saying, "Uh, um...the name is smudged. I can't read it!" When number forty flashed and The Rock's entrance theme hit, the crowd booed vociferously, as they had been chanting for Braun Strowman to enter for most of the match. The Rock strutted confidently down the aisle. Before he made it to the ring, this entrance video aired on the tron:
The crowd went ballistic when Braun Strowman came stomping down the entrance ramp with Alexa Bliss following behind him. The Rock's eyes were bigger than saucers. The Rock began to beg off when Strowman approached him. He began to sprint around the ring. Strowman gave chase, catching The Rock and planting him into the barricade with a "Running Shoulder Tackle." The Rock had to be attended to by trainers. Strowman entered the ring and began tossing competitors out left and right. In his wake, only three other men were left: Kevin Steen, Bray Wyatt, and Matt Riddle. At first, all three opponents teamed up to get Strowman down, which they did. As he recovered, Matt Riddle found himself on the wrong side of the odds as he was eliminated by Steen and Wyatt. Kevin and Bray, uneasy allies, went after Strowman again, trying to throw him over the top. Braun fought his way out. The finish saw Steen and Wyatt run at Strowman in an attempt to "Clothesline" him over the top rope, only to have Braun launch both over with a massive "Double Backdrop."
Winner = Braun Strowman in a total match time of 55:12
Regal: "Oh my! Braun Strowman, whose name was not drawn in the random pick, took out number forty in The Rock and went on to win the 'Christmas Rumble!'"
Ranallo: "Momma Mia! Braun Strowman literally stole a spot, then proceeded to decimate the field and win!"
Cornette: "That was a travesty! Braun Strowman was not picked for this match! I am going to file an official protest with Commissioner Flair and CEO Jordan Richards!"
Regal: "That notwithstanding, Braun Strowman is the winner of the 'Christmas Rumble' and has the right to choose the match and stipulation of his choice! I think we all know he wants another crack at Adam Cole and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! Fans, we'll see next week which match he chooses. Please join us next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! No After Buzz this week, as Cathy Kelley is on special assignment. So, for Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley was pre-empted due to Cathy being on assignment in the UK covering a World Championship defense by Adam Cole. Excerpts from this will air later in the week on www.nwashowtime.com.
