William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Mates, we're gearing up for Halloween Havoc, and we'll have a special announcement concerning the NWA: Show Time representative at that pay-per-view!"
Mauro Ranallo: "And, that's just the tip of the iceberg! 'War Machine' will defend the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship against 'The Revival' tonight! Adam Cole will take on Alexa Bliss in a Television Championship rematch!"
Jim Cornette: "Mauro Ranallo, let me stop you right there! You should have quit while you were ahead! The only match worth mentioning involves 'The Revival,' the best tag team on God's green earth!"
Regal: "Jim Cornette's rather biased opinion aside, we have a fantastic episode lined up! Let's take it to the ring for that special announcement from Commissioner Flair."
Scarlett Bordeaux: "Ladies and gentlemen, Commissioner Ric Flair."
Ric Flair: "Woooo! Charlotte, North Carolina! Woooo! The 'Nature Boy,' your Commissioner, is in the house! And, I've got a big announcement! Halloween Havoc is coming up on October twenty-eighth and NWA: Show Time has a match as a part of it! The question is, what's it going to be?! Well, I can answer that right now! Bray Wyatt will defend the Heavyweight Championship in a 'House of Horrors' match! Anything goes, falls count anywhere, all weapons legal! So, the next question is, who's his opponent?! Well, that one I can't answer right now, but we'll all know by the end of the hour, because the main event will be a 'Gauntlet' match, and the winner gets the title shot!"
Regal: "Oh my! A 'Gauntlet' match will determine Bray Wyatt's opponent in 'House of Horrors' at Halloween Havoc! Fans, this is shaping up to be a historic episode! Fans, let's go to the ring and get it started!"
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship ~ "War Machine" ("WarBeard" Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe) vs. "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette
Hanson and Rowe physically dominated this match, but the crafty tactics if Dash and Dawson kept them at bay. Still, Hanson and Rowe looked to be well on their way to another routine defense. That is, until Jim Cornette got involved in the proceedings. Hanson had come in and cleaned house. He was cooking until he hit the ropes. Cornette snuck in a tennis racket shot into the back of the hulking Hanson, who was unfazed and turned around to confront Cornette. Jim backed off, but this gave his charges valuable time to recover. When Hanson was finished dressing down Cornette, he turned around into "Shatter Machine."
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions = "The Revival" by pinfall in 17:23
Regal: "Dash and Dawson have captured the Mid-Atlantic Tag team Championship after interference from Jim Cornette!"
Ranallo: "How many times have we ended a 'Revival' victory sentence with 'interference from Jim Cornette?!' Nevertheless, 'The Revival' is the first team to win the Heavyweight and Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championships in this company!"
Regal: "And, it's a shame our broadcast colleague feels the need to help them attain victories. Dash and Dawson are legitimately one of the best teams in the world on their own! They'd probably have won many of those matches if he left them alone!"
Ranallo: "A leopard doesn't change its spots, William. He's always been that guy."
Regal: "Indeed. Fans, let's take a commercial break. We'll come back with our Television Championship match next!"
Regal: "We're back, fans! We've been rejoined by the venerable Jim Cornette, who is grinning from ear-to-ear. I should say so, after you helped robbed 'War Machine' of the Mid-Atlantic tag Team Championship earlier!"
Cornette: "Aw, baloney! 'The Revival' earned that victory just like they've earned all the rest!"
Ranallo: "I'd better move over before lightning strikes the commentary booth!"
Regal: "Fans, it's time for the return match for the TV Championship! Adam Cole defends against the former champion Alexa Bliss who'll have World Champion Braun Strowman in her corner! Let's go to the ring!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ Adam Cole with Britt Baker vs. "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss with "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman
Cole dominated much of the match, but Bliss proved her toughness by kicking out of every pin attempt Cole went for. He became increasingly frustrated as the match wore on. Cole continued to bait Strowman, who finally jumped in the ring and caused the disqualification as Cole was setting up for "Last Shot."
Winner and STILL NWA: Television Champion = Adam Cole by disqualification in 12:09
Strowman grabbed a microphone after he had checked on Bliss.
Braun Strowman: "Adam Cole, come back here and get these hands!"
Cole smiled as he and beau Britt Baker backed up the entrance ramp.
Strowman: "I'll make it worth your while! I'll give you a world Title shot at Halloween Havoc!"
Cole screamed, "You got it!"
Strowman: "Good! But, it's going to be one-on-one! Everyone is banned from ringside! Me and you or I don't take the match!"
Cole looked trepidatious at first, but Baker encouraged him, so he bucked up and nodded his head.
Regal: "So, Strowman is defending the World Championship against Adam Cole at the pay-per-view AND we're about to see who will battle Bray Wyatt there as well! We'll take a quick break and be back with the exciting 'Gauntlet' match next!"
Regal: "We're back and Commissioner Flair is back out to announce the participants."
Flair: "It's 'Gauntlet' time! Woooo! The first two competitors are Bobby Roode and Shotzi Blakkhartt! Get down here and get this started!"
Match One ~ "Gauntlet" match to Determine a Number One Contender ~ "Glorious" Bobby Roode with Maryse Ouellet vs. Shotzi Blakkhartt with truth Martini and "Hoopla Hotties" (Zahra & Dana Adiva) ~ Other Participants to be Announced
This was a clear set-up, as Roode ran through Shotzi and took her out fairly quickly. She got in more offense than Roode expected, but he was able to drop her with the "Glorious DDT." Roode awaited his next opponent, who was announced as David Benoit, a graduate of the "Show Time Dojo" training program. Roode handled Benoit fairly quickly as well, taking him out after five or so minutes. Commissioner Flair announced there was only one more participant for Roode to go through, and that was announced as "Born Winner" Mike Madden. Roode was the better man in most exchanges, but Madden gave him a run for his money. After a "Crossbody Press" took both men outside the ring, the referee began to count. He reached seven before both men were on their feet. Roode was headed toward the ring, but was tripped down by Madden, who stepped over him and into the ring at nine. Roode did not make it in before the ten-count.
Winner and NEW number one contender = Mike Madden by countout in a total match time of 19:11
Regal: "Oh my! Mike Madden has pulled off the biggest upset in recent memory and is going to Halloween Havoc!"
Ranallo: "Do you believe in miracles?! Momma Mia!"
Cornette: "Wow! Did that just happen?!"
Flair was incensed and Roode was flabbergasted as Madden celebrated in the ring. Flair, thinking and acting quickly, got back on the microphone.
Flair: "Wait a minute! Wait a minute! I'm sorry Madden. I forgot that we actually have five wrestlers in the 'Gauntlet!' The fifth and final competitor is Brock Lesnar!"
Lesnar came marching to the ring as Madden stared on with a concerned look on his face. As soon as Brock hit the ring, Madden ran at him. Lesnar floored him with a "Clothesline." Brock then scooped up Madden for a thunderous "F-5."
Winner and NEW number one contender = Brock Lesnar by pinfall in a total match time of 19:48
Regal: "That was a set-up the whole way! Ric Flair attempted to give Bobby Roode a cakewalk throught the 'Gauntlet,' but when he unexpectedly lost, Flair paraded Brock Lesnar out as his ace in the hole! I can't believe what we've just witnessed! Brock Lesnar now will challenge Bray Wyatt at Halloween Havoc for the Heavyweight Championship in a 'House of Horrors' match! Fans, we're out of time! Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! Don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com to catch After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following our broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley was floored by the sham of a "Gauntlet" match that had just taken place. She agreed with William Regal that Bobby Roode had been fed handpicked opponents to ensure a victory, but that Commissioner Flair came up with an instant back-up plan that included Brock Lesnar. Kelley noted that this was another in the laundry list of deceptions perpetrated by "The Richards Collective." With that, Kelley signed off.
