William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Men, tonight promises to be a volatile hour, especially after what we saw last week!"
Mauro Ranallo: "It's going to be hotter than a summer day in here tonight! Adam Cole was dethroned by Bray Wyatt, thanks in small part by CM Punk!"
Jim Cornette: "In small part?! The way I saw it, CM Punk giftwrapped the Heavyweight Championship for Bray Wyatt last week! He's going to pay for that one!"
Regal: "You have to believe there will be repercussions for CM Punk's actions."
Just then, this entrance played on the tron:
Commissioner Ric Flair came to the ring with intent.
Ric Flair: "Woooo! The 'Nature Boy' is in the house, Charlotte, North Carolina! But, I'm not here for fun and games! It's time to get down to business! CM Punk cost Adam Cole the NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Championship last week! That is inexcusable! CM Punk has done all he's going to do to 'The Richards Collective' or anyone else, for that matter! He's got to go!"
At that point, this entrance played:
CM Punk made his entrance to a roar from the crowd.
CM Punk: "Ric, Ric, Ric. Calm down before you blow a gasket. What happened last week your guys had coming to them. You've tried your best to make my life a living hell from day one. You've stolen titles from me. You've tried to take my career from me. H***, you even took my wife from me! And, you're ticked because I cost Adam Cole his title, that he screwed me out of in the first place?! Come on! An eye for an eye, Ric!"
Flair: "Yeah, right! Everything you've gotten from 'The Richards Collective,' you deserved! You're like a fly in the ointment, Punk!"
Punk: "Maybe so. But, I'm also your highest merchandise seller. I'm your cash cow. I'm your workhorse. I'm here selling out your live event tour every night!"
Suddenly, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva blared to bring out CEO Jordan Richards and Karlee Perez.
Jordan Richards: "CM Punk, I've heard all I'm going to here out of you! Enough is enough! You think that you can run around and do whatever you want because you have a guaranteed contract?! Well, that won't fly anymore! I'm to the point that I'm willing to buy out your contract myself to get rid of you!"
Punk: "But, you're not going to do it."
Richards: "Says who?!"
Punk: "Says you! If you were going to buy me out, you'd have already done it! I know the game you play, Jordan! You're a former wrestler, so competition is in your blood! You're also a business man. So, you're not just going to spend seven figures of your own money to buy me out when you can get rid of me an easier way."
Richards: "What's that supposed to mean?!"
Punk: "If you want to get rid of me, why not do it in a match? I'd be more than happy to leave NWA: Show Time if some one man enough was able to beat me."
Richards: "We've tried this before! Those career stipulations can be defeated in court! I'm no dummy! My guy beats you and you take me to court and fight it for months, only to win the case, cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars, and come right back here anyway!"
Punk: "No, you've got it all wrong. I'm being legit here. This thing has gone on for long enough. That is the one thing we can agree on. Here is what I propose. One match. Me against anyone in your group. Since the 'Career' match is off the table, we'll do the good old 'Loser Leaves Town' stip. If I lose, I will leave for one year. My contract will expire by then and I'm free to go anywhere else. But, if I win, I get a written agreement from Jordan Richards and Ric Flair that says you will no longer do anything to hold me down, that I get the same treatment as anyone else in this company that you don't have a grudge against!"
Richards: "So, a one-on-one match with any of my guys. You win, we leave you alone essentially. But, if my guy wins, you leave the company for one year, you don't renegotiate, and you're gone?! What's the catch? There's always a catch!"
Punk: "Haha. The only thing I demand is that this match truly be one-on-one. I want it inside a steel cage with a guarantee from you that none of your goons in 'The Richards Collective' is at ringside or interferes in the match. If I lose, it better be because I got beat, not because one of your men cost me the match!"
Richards: "So, a 'Steel Cage' match, no interference from any of my men, is that all?!"
Punk: "If I get a fair one-on-one match, it's a deal!"
Richards: "You're on! But, I pick your opponent, right?!"
Punk: "It doesn't matter which one of your guys I take on, as long as I get a fair shake!"
Richards: "Oh, you'll get a fair shake, all right! This match will take place on next week's program, but you'll know who your opponent is when everyone else does! Now then, since this is such a huge match in your life, you're going to need a tune-up tonight! So, I have decided to book you in a 'Gauntlet' match! But, this won't be any simple 'Gauntlet.' Oh no! Not for the 'best in the world!' No, you'll be in a three-leg match against three different tag teams! Haha! It's a 'Handicap Gauntlet,' and it's going to start right after the first commercial break!"
Regal: "Wow! Talk about sticking it to a man! Jordan Richards is sending CM Punk through 'murderer's row' after we come back. Stay tuned."
Regal: "We're back. CM Punk is standing in the ring awaiting the first team Jordan Richards will send out to take him on!"
Regal: "Oh my!"
Match One of Three ~ "Handicap Gauntlet" match ~ CM Punk vs. Bully Ray & D-Von Dudley
This was a pretty one-sided affair. Every time Punk seemed to get the advantage, one of the Dudleys would cut him off. They seemed to toy with him, intentionally dragging the match on. It was as if they had been given special instructions to make Punk suffer as long as they could. This went on for about ten minutes before Punk saw the light of day. Bully and D-Von misconnected on a double-team attempt and knocked one another loopy. Punk seized the opportunity with all he could muster and floored D-Von with "GTS." Before he could get the pin, Bully nailed him with a steel chair for the disqualification.
Winner = CM Punk by disqualification in 10:23
Bully and D-Von went to work on Punk until their "Reckoning" stable mates, "Killer Elite Squad," came to the ring.
Davey Boy Smith, Jr. informed the referee that they were the second team.
Regal: "It looks like 'The Reckoning' will represent the first two legs of this ridiculous 'Handicap Gauntlet' Jordan Richards has forced CM Punk into! Fans, we'll take a quick break and be back with more in just a moment."
After the break, the episode went straight to the ring, as the match had already begun.
Match Two of Three ~ "Handicap Gauntlet" match ~ CM Punk vs. "Killer Elite Squad" (Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt)
This was even more of a mismatch than the first contest. Punk had already been beaten senseless. He refused to quit and he continued to fight his hardest, but he was no match for the combined forces of "KES." His only saving grace was the fact that Smith and Hoyt were not really interested in victory, but making him suffer. So, Punk eventually got dropped through the announce table with a "Killer Bomb." This caused another disqualification.
Winner = CM Punk by disqualification in 9:03
Regal: "CM Punk has been decimated in two straight matches! It's clear that the Dudleys and 'KES' were given direct instruction to maim him! What a disgusting display!"
Ranallo: "CM Punk is the lamb being led to the slaughter!"
Cornette: "I think it's darned entertaining! Where's the popcorn?!"
Regal: "Really, Jim?! Fans, we'll take another break while trainers check on Punk. When we return, we'll see who Jordan Richards parades out her for the last leg of the 'Gauntlet.'"
Regal: "We're back! During the break, CM Punk refused medical treatment and has demanded that his final opponents be brought out. Let's see who they are!"
Bray Wyatt led out the entire 'New Face of Fear' and released all three of them onto Punk.
Regal: "Are you serious?! Now, CM punk will take on three opponents?!"
Match Three of Three ~ "Handicap Gauntlet" match ~ CM Punk vs. "The New Face of Fear" ("Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, & "Lost Sheep" Erick Rowan with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis)
It turns out that the entire group was Punk's opponents, including Bray himself. Kanellis was even tagged in at one point. Punk was in no shape to stop anyone's assaults at this point. It was so bad that his wife AJ Lee, who herself is a member of Punk's arch nemesis group "The Richards Collective," ran down to the ring and implored Wyatt and company to end it. Bray simply laughed her off until Jordan Richards came to the entrance stage with a microphone.
Richards: "Okay Bray, AJ is right. He's had enough. Take it home."
Wyatt immediately hit "Sister Abigail" on Punk for the win.
Winners = "The New Face of Fear" by pinfall in 12:14
Regal: "Finally, this one is over! It took Punk's wife rushing to the ring to end it!"
AJ Lee helped Punk away from the ring as Jordan Richards approached ringside.
Richards: "So, it looks like 'The New Face of Fear' is triumphant once again. Congratulations. Of course, this victory was handed to you just like your title win last week, Bray! But, we're about to rectify that right now! You see, you're about to grant Adam Cole his mandatory rematch next! And, to make sure it's a fair fight, all of your minions are banned from ringside! Security, get them out of here!"
Regal: "Jordan Richards is sticking it to everyone here tonight! Let's go to commercial while Bray Wyatt's henchmen are cleared from the area. We'll be back with the Heavyweight Title rematch next!"
Regal: "We're back and set for action!"
Match Four ~ NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Championship ~ "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt vs. Adam Cole with Britt Baker
This was a highly competitive match. Wyatt was slightly worn down from the previous 'Gauntlet,' but still had plenty in the tank. Cole went on a long offensive streak during the middle part of the match. Bray came back and had Cole for a while as well. In the end, it looked like Cole had gained the upper hand for good after a distraction by Britt Baker. He looked to be setting up for "Last Shot." Suddenly, CM Punk's music played on the tron for the second time of the night.
Cole looked up in shock as Punk staggered out of the entrance. He was being led by AJ Lee, who was trying to stop him. She begged him not to go toward the ring. Cole was yelling from the ring. This gave Wyatt time to recover. Cole turned around and was hit with a lightning quick "Sister Abigail" that allowed Wyatt to escape with the championship intact.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Heavyweight Champion = Bray Wyatt by pinfall in 15:38
Regal: "CM Punk has struck again for the second week in a row, providing a distraction that cost Adam Cole the match!"
Ranallo: "CM Punk is a stubborn man! He is going to get back at Jordan Richards and company if it's the last thing he ever does!"
Cornette: "If he keeps this kind of crap up, it will be the last thing he ever does!"
Regal: "Either way, next week, it's do or die for CM Punk! Either he's gone for good or he's free from the tyranny of Jordan Richards for good! Something has to give! Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! Don't forget to log onto www.nwashowtime.com to catch After Buzz with Cathy Kelley immediately following the broadcast! For Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Cathy spent her time discussing the CM Punk-"Richards Collective" situation and the strange dynamic of his wife being a part of that group, but being attached to Punk at the same time. Kelley speculated that, whatever happens, Punk is a free man. It just really depends upon what type of freedom he wants. With that, Kelley signed off.
Mauro Ranallo: "It's going to be hotter than a summer day in here tonight! Adam Cole was dethroned by Bray Wyatt, thanks in small part by CM Punk!"
