Before the traditional intro aired, the scene opened to the backstage area, where Jim Cornette was talking to "Sons of Steel."
Jim Cornette: "Guys, we've gone over this. For the good of the group, you need to do the right thing."
Boomer Payne: "If the titles stay in the group, why does it matter who wins?"
Brice Anthony: "Opportunities don't come around like this very often. Why not just see who the best two men are?"
Cornette: "It just makes more sense to leave the titles where they are."
Payne: "More sense to who?! Dash and Dawson?! Besides, why would we want to get punked out like that?!"
Cornette: "Trust me, I'll make it worth your while."
Anthony: "What's better than a title shot?!"
Cornette: "Let's go to the locker room and hash it out."
The scene ended with the three walking back into the locker room area.
William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are Mauro Ranallo and Jim Cornette! Gents, we're one week away from 'War Games' and we'll have a preview tonight in a six-man tag team main event!"
Mauro Ranallo: "That's right! Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, and Erick Rowan will do battle against Ricochet, Adam Cole, and Bobby Roode! That promises to be a vicious battle!"
Cornette: "I hope they all tear each other apart! That means less competition for my guys!"
Regal: "Speaking of your guys, 'The Revival' will defend the Tag Team Championship tonight against 'Sons of Steel,' all four of whom are apart of 'Camp Cornette.' How do you plan to navigate through that little situation?"
Cornette: "It's all taken care of. Don't worry about that. 'Camp Cornette' will continue to dominate tag team wrestling in this company for a long time to come!"
Regal: "We'll seer about that! Let's go to the ring for some Cruiserweight competition!"
Match One ~ Angelico vs. "The Man Gravity Forgot" Adrian Neville with Solomon Crowe and Hangman Page
This was the quintessential Cruiserweight match-up, with a frenetic pace and plenty of high-flying action. Angelico has impressed against all comers since his debut and has really garnered quite a following on the live event tour and television tapings. Neville is a former Cruiserweight Champion and always has been one of the best in the world at that weight class. They basically fought to a stalemate until Neville got knocked off the top rope while attempting a "Superplex." Angelico hit a huge "Missile Dropkick" that turned Neville inside out. He went for the pin, but Page ran in and broke it up for the DQ.
Winner = Angelico by disqualification in 11:08
After the match, "Crowe's Nest" proceeded to beat down Angelico until Jack Evans made the surprise save with a steel chair. Fans were shocked that the man Angelico defeated in his Show Time debut came to his rescue. Afterward, the two shook hands.
Regal: "Wow! I don't anyone saw that coming!"
Ranallo: "Jack Evans just blew my mind, and it didn't take any chemical enhancement to do it!"
Cornette: "Jack Evans and Angelico would make strange bedfellows for sure! But, I wonder what 'Worldwide Underground' thinks about this?!"
Regal: "Good question. We'll have to see how this situation develops. Fans, we need to take a break. We'll be back with the Tag Team Championship match next!"
Regal: "We're back and ready to go the ring! Jim Cornette's already at ringside, as both teams in this match belong to his stable. We'll see how this whole thing shakes out, but I have a feeling Jim has a ruse in place."
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ "The Revival" (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) with Jim Cornette vs. "Sons of Steel" (Boomer Payne & Brice Anthony) with Jim Cornette
The winners of last week's "Gauntlet" match came out first, appearing to be dejected. when they got to the ring, Boomer Payne implored Cornette to reconsider his plan. Jim assured Payne that everything would work out just fine and that they'd be taken care of. "The Revival" came out next, with an extra bit of smugness on their faces. It was clear that a plan was in place to keep the championship around their waists. Once the bell rang, Cornette encouraged Payne to lay down. It then became clear exactly what deal had been worked out. "Sons of Steel" had been instructed to allow "The Revival" to pin them and retain the Tag Team Championship without an actual match. Payne began to slowly lower himself to the mat, but then he stopped. He clearly was conflicted in this decision. Cornette was screaming at him to lay down. Scott Dawson was on his case as well, demanding that he "hurry up and do the job." Dawson then shoved Payne to the mat and told him to "take your pin like a man." Scott made the cover, but Boomer powered out at two, bringing the fans to their feet. Cornette had the most shocked look on his face we've ever seen. Dawson was incensed. Dash paced the apron screaming at Payne and calling him an idiot. Cornette actually jumped onto the apron to berate Payne. Brice stepped over to Cornette and demanded he get off the apron, saying, "We have a match to win!" Cornette dropped down, intimidated by the steely gaze of Anthony. Dawson yelled to Payne, "You want it?! You got it! It's your funeral!" The match was on. It was an instant classic, a technical marvel in how to construct a tag team match. There were isolations by both teams. Payne was punished for several minutes, then so was Wilder. This was a titanic back-and-forth struggle that a title match deserves. "Sons of Steel" looked to have the advantage in the end. They set up for "Steel Curtain" on Dawson. Dash had the referee distracted by tugging on his shirt while he was trying to drag himself up. Cornette took the opportunity and belted Anthony in the back of the head with his tennis racket. Brice went careening to the mat. Payne dropped Dawson and went after Cornette, who ran like a scalded dog. Dawson crawled over for the cover as the referee turned to see the pin attempt.
Winners and STILL NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions = "The Revival" by pinfall in 25:43
Regal: "Jim Cornette just plunged the knife into the backs of his own team!"
Ranallo: "What depths will he sink to?! First, he tried to make Boomer and Brice lay down! Then, he cost the match when they had it won!"
Regal: "I can't believe it!"
"The Insurgence" ran down to the ring and began to lay the boots to "Sons of Steel" at the direction of Cornette, who'd brought them out from the back. "The Revival" soon joined in and it was a merciless beating. Payne was hit with "Shatter Machine," while Anthony got dropped on his head with Steen's "Package Piledriver." Cornette and his two teams stood triumphantly over his apparently former associates.
Regal: "We've seen enough of this! Let's go to break."
Regal: "We're back from the break. Fans, you just saw this man (Cornette, who'd rejoined commentary) turn his back on his own associates in a dastardly attack."
Ranallo: "What were you thinking out there, Jim?!"
Cornette: "Shut up, both of you! You have no idea what it's like to walk a mile in my rather expensive shoes! Don't try to judge me! 'Sons of Steel' had been given simple instructions that they refused to follow, so they needed to be taught a lesson! Boomer Payne and Brice Anthony got what was coming to them!"
Regal: "What was coming to them was a Tag Team Championship match and you stole it from them!"
Ranallo: "How can you expect two competitors to hand over a title shot?!"
Cornette: "I told you we had a plan in place! Those two were going to be well compensated for giving Dash and Dawson the night off and they just couldn't do it! They let their foolish pride get in the way, and what did it get them?! Nothing! Now, they not only didn't win the titles, but they're in the bread line! 'Sons of Steel' is officially fired from 'Camp Cornette!' You know what, I don't have to answer anymore of your asinine questions! You two get back to the program!"
Regal: "Gladly. We'll get nowhere with you anyway. Fans, it's main event time. We're about to see six men beat the holy hell out of each other one week before they battle in 'War Games,' and we still don't know who Bray Wyatt's fifth team member is going to be! Before that match gets underway, 'SoCal' Val is standing by with members of 'The Richards Collective.' Let's see what they have to say."
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole, Mid-Atlantic Champion Ricochet, and former Television Champion Bobby Roode, who are about to face members of 'The New Face of Fear.' This is a risky proposition to step into the ring against three of your opponents a week before the huge 'War Games' showdown."
Adam Cole: "Valerie, you should know by now that 'The Richards Collective' takes only calculated risks. We're looking to exploit weakness tonight and do damage ahead of 'War Games.'"
Wyndham: "But, aren't you also putting yourself at risk?"
Bobby Roode: "This collection of talent was put together because we are the best athletes and the most elite competitors in the world. We're also the most cerebral in the sport. Don't you think we have a well thought-out game plan?"
Wyndham: "No one knows the identity of Bray Wyatt's fifth team member as of yet. Don't you think that will work as a liability against you?"
Ricochet: "You don't get it, do you? We have planned for all contingencies. We're prepared for anyone and everyone. There is no one Bray Wyatt can bring out next week that we won't be ready for."
Cole: "That's right! Tonight, we'll begin the mission by taking out these big goofs. Next week, we end Bray Wyatt and his band of misfits once and for all!"
Roode: "And it will be absolutely...glorious!"
Wyndham: "Back to you, William."
Regal: "Supreme confidence shown by 'The Richards Collective.' But, is it all for naught? We'll see. Let's go to the ring!"
Match Three ~ "The Richards Collective" (Adam Cole, "Glorious" Bobby Roode, & Ricochet with Britt Baker, Maryse Ouellet, and AJ Lee) vs. "The New Face of Fear" (Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, & "Lost Sheep" Erick Rowan with "Spirit of Abigail" Maria Kanellis)
Bray Wyatt was conspicuous by his absence. But, he would make his presence felt soon enough. The match itself reeked of carnage. The big men imposed their will, but Cole and company used their brains to redirect the match several times. Ultimately, "The Richards Collective" surged ahead and looked to be going for the kill. Suddenly, the lights went out. On the tron, this image appeared:
NWA: DFW's Brodie Lee began to speak.
Brodie Lee: "We fear what we do not know. And, you boys do not know me! The family has come together once again to inflict torture upon those who seek to snuff us out! 'Richards Collective,' you thought you had a plan, but you didn't plan for me. Run!"
Then, Bray Wyatt's theme began to play, bringing out he and Lee.
Cole and friends were shocked, to say the least, and Adam fell victim to Dain and Wolfe's tandem finisher.
Winners = "The New Face of Fear" by pinfall in 13:17
Regal: "Oh my! Brodie Lee has been introduced as Bray Wyatt's fifth team member! There's no way 'The Richards Collective' game planned for that!"
Ranallo: "Clearly! Adam Cole was left slack jawed and pinned at the mere sight of the maniacal and sadistic Brodie Lee! Momma Mia!"
Cornette: "Bray Wyatt swerved everyone! I'll give him that!"
Regal: "The 'War Games' match just got even more interesting! Fans, as if you needed another reason to tune in next Tuesday to TBS for the Show Time Power Hour, you got one! NWA: DFW's Brodie Lee, a former longtime associate of Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan, will be a part of 'War Games!' You absolutely cannot miss it! Another thing you cannot miss is After Buzz with Cathy Kelley! Please log onto www.nwashowtime.com right now to cath it immediately following our broadcast! For Maura Ranallo and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as normal.
Kelley was floored at the introduction of Brodie Lee into the mix at "War Games." She added that the violence factor just raised ten times with his addition to the match. Lee is known worldwide as a hardcore bruiser with evil intentions and adds a combustible element to the battle. Kelley then discussed the betrayal of "Sons of Steel" by their now former manager Jim Cornette. They actually barged into the studio and made a statement. Boomer Payne reminded viewers that they were the first ever NWA: Show Time Tag Team Champions. They reminded everyone that the tag team division was built around them and that they've been here since day one. They reminded us that "The Revival" currently hold the Tag Team Championship because they helped make it happen. Boomer finally added that, "We've been tossed to the side before. We've been forgotten in the past, but I guarantee we won't be forgotten again." With that, Kelley signed off.
