DISCLAIMER: The following is one of multiple TV tapings produced by AZCW, watch at your own risk.
Excalibur: Hello everyone! I am Excalibur, the Director of Violence and I am proud to have said I booked this show tonight! Joined by my side is none other than the great, Larry Legend!
Larry Legend: It's always great to be here in New York for some more jam packed action, and before we get to the action.. Excalibur has something to say.
Excalibur gets out his seat and grips a mic, he walks up the steps onto the apron and gets in the ring. He looks around, waiting for the wild crowd to tone down.
Excalibur: HELLO NEW YORK! (brief crowd cheer) Tonight as usual, we've got a huge show set up. But also, we're going to be introducing a new concept. For now on, there will be two different divisions. The strong, and deathmatch division. And this also means that we will have an AZCW World Strong Championship, and an AZCW Deathmatch Championship. In order to determine the champions for our two regional titles, we will be having two tournaments. The first one is the Global Strong League, and the other one is the Global Deathmatch League. These tournaments will consist of 8 men and we will find out a winner soon enough. The Global Strong League starts tonight!
Excalibur walks off to huge cheers, with the fans amped to find out who will win the tournament and get the titles. Before the show can officially start to action, the bracket pops up:
Jay White vs Jushin Thunder Liger
Jimmy Jacobs vs Akira Taue
Tomohiro Ishii vs Ethan Carter III
Jason Jordan vs Kento Miyahara
(1) Jay White vs. Jushin Thunder Liger
White took advantage of Liger's number one flaw, his age. Despite Liger pulling out some nice maneuvers, White relied on strikes. White's strikes kept Liger down and this ultimately assisted in him dominating in most of the match. Liger fought back a couple of times, but a spike DDT spelt nothing but disaster for Liger. White picked up Liger and finished him off with Bladerunner.
Winner: Jay White via Bladerunner in 7:18
Excalibur: A huge showing in his debut for Jay White. I can't wait to see what this kid does as time goes on here in AZCW.
Larry Legend: White easily defeating a legend such as Liger shows a lot. This may be on Liger, or this may be the skill that White already possesses. Tomohiro Ishii better watch out in the future as well.
(2) Akira Taue vs. Jimmy Jacobs
In the start of the match, Jacobs tried to lure Taue in with some of his usual antics. However, Taue wasn't amused and knocked his head off with the Dynamic Kick. Taue picked up Jacobs and sent him into the corner hitting repeated forearms and jabs. He pulled Jacobs out the corner, turned him around and hit the Tiger Suplex. Jacobs rolled out the ring to escape, but Taue rolled out and followed after him. Taue threw Jacobs in and rolled in after him. Taue picked up Jacobs and finished him off with the Dynamic Bomb.
Winner: Akira Taue via Dynamic Bomb in 1:05
Excalibur: Hahahahahahaha!
Larry Legend: Well this was obviously a demonstration on how you should NOT mess with Akira Taue. Jacobs may be needing a doctor's appointment after this.
Following the match, we cut to backstage and see Jason Jordan, sitting down. He's drinking a water bottle, and looks up to the camera and flashes a cocky grin.
Jason Jordan: I.. Am Jason Jordan. And well, this is AZCW huh? I'm not impressed at all. Tonight I make my debut in AZCW, and I want every single one of you people to know this. I am the greatest wrestler you have ever laid your eyes on, and how can you deny? I was a star for three years, amateur wrestling, one of the best in the nation. I went undefeated, and you know what I did? I picked myself up and I left to the sport of pro wrestling. And I end up here? Miyahara, tonight I am going to demolish you, and there is just no way you are leaving with a shot that belongs to ME.
Jordan shoves the camera out of his face, and the scene changes back to Larry Legend and Excalibur sitting at the announce table.
Excalibur: Some huge words by Jason Jordan, but can he back up tonight against his opponent who is also debuting, Kento Miyahara. Miyahara is known all over the world for his work for AJPW and is one talented wrestler. Jason Jordan proclaims himself as the greatest wrestler you have ever laid eyes on, but tonight's main event will we decide if this is true.
Larry Legend: I don't know about this. Jordan's confidence may come back to bite him, and especially with a wrestler at the caliber of Kento Miyahara. He has to bring his A game and focus on the match, no need to brag at all. But up next, we've got our third first round match up of the night.
(3) Tomohiro Ishii vs Ethan Carter III
Despite Ishii bringing in his hard hitting moves, EC3 found ways to outsmart Ishii. As the match went on, Ishii's strikes got stiffer, EC3 seemed to start getting more desperate. In order to advance in the tournament, EC3 decided to target Ishii's left leg. It began once EC3 got out of a suplex attempt and hit a chop block on the left leg. Throughout the match, EC3 stomped the leg, slammed it into the ring post and the barricade, and many other ways of damaging the leg. Despite Ishii now barely able to move and slowed down, he found ways to keep EC3 down. After countering the One Percenter with a backdrop suplex, Ishii won the match with a vertical drop brainbuster.
Winner: Tomohiro Ishii via Brainbuster in 12:36
Excalibur: A solid matchup right there between EC3 and Ishii. EC3 is a top tier talent here in AZCW, but Ishii managed to take the win here. EC3's future as of now is unknown, but hopefully we'll find out down the line.
Larry Legend: I personally enjoyed all of this match, and just like you Excalibur what is next for EC3? He failed to beat Ishii, but maybe we could still see a renovation out of him.
Excalibur: Well it's time we move on to the main event. This new and improved cocky Jason Jordan will be facing Kento Miyahara. This is a match I'm excited to see. I don't know who could possibly win this, but I'm going Jason Jordan.
Larry Legend: Kento Miyahara for me, his fast paced strikes and even his charisma alone wins me over. However he'll have to make sure and watch out for Jason Jordan who could easily outwrestle him.
(4) Kento Miyahara vs Jason Jordan
This was a fast paced match, Miyahara pulled off some intresting aerial attacks and used some fast strikes to keep Jordan off guard. Despite Jordan's efforts to bring the match to the mat and slow down Miyahara. How ever, Miyahara would always find ways to avoid Jordan's takedown attempts and counter it with another strike. As the match progressed, Jordan got the hang of using his fists and feet, and one good shot to the head let him take full advantage on the ground. As Jordan began to outwrestle Miyahara and wear him out, the crowd and adrenaline helped Miyahara go back into this match. After ducking a lariat attempt by Jordan and hitting a slingblade, the fan favorite Miyahara was back in action. After getting out of Jason Jordan's ankle lock, Miyahara won the match with a Blackout, advancing into the second round.
Winner: Kento Miyahara via Blackout in 18:57
Excalibur: What a match! Miyahara advances to the second round, but that was definitely an impressive showing of Jason Jordan.
Larry Legend: Good thing he's on our show now! I can't wait to see more of Jason Jordan. He's impressed me and got my attention tonight. Miyahara is a tough opponent, and he managed to adjust to Miyahara's style and transitioned well to it, back to his. We'll be back and I can't wait to be here for more!
