Salina de la Renta says Ki is training harder than he has ever trained in his life and next week in Chicago she's going to show Lawlor that he messed with the wrong bitch. Ki is training with some cage fighters that Lawlor fought before in the UFC. They ask about LA Park and she starts talking in French and the interviewer only speaks English & Spanish. Salina continues speaking in French as she walks off and the show ends

I am a little late to talk about the show this week. Opening match was straight fire even if Cornette seemingly hated it (more on him soon). The main event was garbage, the fighting on the outside of the cage was so stupid. Cornette was a clusterfuck during the main event I felt and was calling shit that clearly wasn’t happening. I like Cornette but he’s gotta improve. I miss Schavonie but I think he’s done for good?

If that’s the case then it’s grwat, I honestly had no idea what was going on with Tony. If JC was making fun of the WWE then it’s glorious. My issue with the main event should be clarified. I had high hopes for it and it was a massive letdown. Cornette didn’t help by saying that Lawlor got help from Salina when he used the roll of coins when he clearly dug them out of his tights lol.

I wanna say it again though, that opening match was fucking incredible. Probably the best match in company history to be honest.

My fucking god. I wonder who’s bright idea that was. I never thought I would see Low Ki in a spot like that. I mean I can’t believe he went along with it.

Battle Riot 2 is LIVE next week for a 2 hour special with Tom Lawlor vs Jimmy Havoc headlining. We get a recap of last weeks chaos involving Teddy Hart being arrested and MJF beating down Brian Pillman Jr. In response Teddy Hart has issued an open challenge for tonight!

Ariel Dominguez vs Daga kicks off the show as Low Ki is on super special guest commentary. We get a reminder of the history between Low Ki & Daga. Lots of chain wrestling and reversals to start the match. Daga kills Dominguez with a dropkick. Daga takes control of the match before a brief fightback by Dominguez is stopped with a straight right hook to the jaw. Daga hits a superkick followed by a standing shoot star which gets a 2 count. Dominguez hits a surprise spinning ddt for a near fall. Daga over the top and Dominguez hits a splash. A series of German suplex attempts ends with a botched Dominguez attempt. Daga bends Dominguez in half with a German followed by a massive brain buster for the win.

Post match Low Ki and Daga get into a heated argument at ringside before being separated by security and referees.


** The match was too long and one sided with a lot of rest holds in between high spots

A recap of last weeks attack on La Parka which resulted in Promociones Dorado attacking Mance Warner reminds us that the stable is still very much a threat. This is followed up by Myron Reed accepting Teddy Hart's open challenge via a video. We get another pre tape, this time of Teddy Hart telling the Dynasty that they are a joke.

Ricky Martinez vs Air Wolf is next up as they hype the fact that Air Wolf is 19 years old. Air Wolf attacks Martinez off the start as Cornette complains that nobody takes the bells seriously around here (LOL!). Cornette also calls Martinez a criminal based upon his looks. Air Wolf hits a massive suicide dive on Martinez. They brawl on the outside, Air Wolf gets pulled off the guard rails and smacks the back of his head. Back in the ring Martinez takes over and pulverizes Wolf with knees. Martinez almost drops Air Wolf on a springboard suplex but he muscles Air Wolf up and saves the spot. Back and forth action ensues with both guys getting stiff kicks and punches in. Air Wolf hits a bottom rope 619 which Cornette dubs the 617. Springboard DDT gets a 2 count for Air Wolf, who then goes up for a high risk move but gets his legs kicked out by Martinez who follows up with a popup knee to the face for the 3 count.


*** Fun back and forth match with a lot of good spots but the few botches hurt the over rating. Also, Salina was looking all kinds of sexy

A Contra hype video plays with Jacob Fatu cutting a promo talking about how the mighty have fallen and that he has done things that god himself has turned his eyes from. He says that in MLW they will salt the earth with the ashes of their enemies.

The Dynasty talks about The Heart Foundation and the fact that they have shattered The Hart Foundation and exposed Teddy Hart as a fraud. They said that the chain they broke of Teddy's was a fake. They say that they are going to decimate The Hart Foundation at Battle Riot to cement their legacy in MLW.

Salina is on the phone in the back and then tells La Park that she can't find Hijo. La Park says he will handle it and for her to relax.

Teddy Hart (c) vs Myron Reed for the MLW World Middleweight Championship is on the line. Hart offers a handshake before the match which is declined by Reed. Both guys take turns trying to pop the crowd. A lot of stalling by Reed before Teddy Hart takes him down and locks in an arm bar which he keeps working over, which is followed by chain wrestling. Hart hits a few big moves, a scoop powerslam and a lung buster but he sells his injured ribs. Hart keeps on the pressure but is becoming more and more bothered by his ribs. Reed springs an attack on the ribs and rips Hart's shirt off before laying in kicks and a vicious Irish whip. Teddy pukes a little in the ring after Reed hits a springboard lung buster. Hart retreats to the outside by Reed follows and throws him ribs first into the railings as the Hart Foundation looks on. Reed hits a massive frog splash for 2 count as Hart is reeling. Hart gets back into the action after Reed gets distracted playing to the crowd. Hart tried a submission but couldn't lock it in because of the ribs, he then climbs to the middle rope before eating a dropkick from Reed who then hits a springboard huracarana which gets a 2 count. Reed misses a springboard 450 which allows Hart to recover enough to lock in a double wristlock suspended ddt which gets a 2 count. Moonsault by Teddy gets nothing but knees and Reed gets a 2 count on the rollup. Reed argues with the ref before Teddy sneaks a backslide for the 1,2,3 to retain the title.

*** I thought this was a good match with some great storytelling. Teddy really sold the ribs and the finish was suitable enough.

Backstage, Salina de la Renta (Oh Dios Mio!) & La Park are backstage and Salina says that she wants people to know that Promociones Dorado has an advantage and that she has a surprise. Hijo walks in and Salina says she will let him tell everyone...Hijo attacks La Park then unmasks to reveal Mance Warner. He lays punches in as the camera cuts off.

Overall I would give this show a *** out of 5. The matches were solid and they did well to build to Battle Riot 2 next week. I think they are going in the right direction and Cornette definitely found his way as the shows went on.

MLW was straight fire this week. Lucha Bros vs Horus & Air Wolf was fun as hell. The Contra angle is progressing nicely and Sami vs Warner was badass. Now that they’ve joined forces I can honestly say that MLW has the best tag division in wrestling, nothing comes close.
