William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me are my hall of fame co-hosts, Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette! Fans, we want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year! We're going to start it off with a bang! Gents, we have a fabulous hour lined up tonight!"
Michael Hayes: "We've waited two weeks to see Kota Ibushi defend the Cruiserweight Title against Zack Sabre, Jr. and Tyler Bate! Tonight, it happens!"
Cornette: "Plus, 'Camp Cornette' will be in action! That's the reason to tune in right there!"
Regal: "Yes, 'The Revival' and 'The Insurgence' will be in a big eight-man affair against 'The Reckoning!' I honestly don't know which combination the fans will hate more!"
Cornette: "Ha ha! Anyone who hates 'Camp Cornette' doesn't know pro wrestling, because we put on a clinic out there every night!"
Regal: "I'll give you that, Jim. Fans, our main event tonight will see The Rock return to action and attempt to regain the Mid-Atlantic Championship from Ricochet! Plus, we will hear from the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Bray Wyatt! It's going to be action-packed, so let's get it started!"
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Championship ~ Kota Ibushi vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. with "The Villain" Marty Scurll vs. Tyler Bate with Trent Seven
What a way to start the new year off. This match lit up the arena. Fans were on their feet the entire time. All three men left nothing behind and pulled out all the stops. Ibushi flew all over the ring, as he tends to do. Sabre was his normal vicious, submission specialist self, while Bate wowed the crowd with several displays of strength and resiliency. There were so many near falls that got broken up at the last possible second. Tyler hit a "Double German Suplex" on both Ibushi and Sabre, as Zack was attempting the same move on Kota. Ibushi hit a "Corkscrew Plancha" onto both of his opponents. Sabre nailed a succession of stereo "Penalty Kicks" on his opponents as he had them sat beside one another on the mat. Bate had control at the end. He and Sabre were tangling while Ibushi caught his breath. Tyler nailed his "Tyler Driver '97" on Sabre. Unbeknownst to Bate, however, was the fact that Ibushi had scaled the top rope. As the referee began to count, Kota leapt off with a scintillating "Phoenix Splash" on both opponents. Kota covered an obliterated Sabre for the win before Bate could recover.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Champion = Kota Ibushi by pinfall in 22:19
Regal: "Fantastic match! What a showing for all three men, who proved why this company has the best Cruiserweight division in the world right now!"
Hayes: "You got it! That was phenomenal!"
Cornette: "Even I have to admit that was good. Those three 'spot monkeys' really tore the house down!"
Regal: "Fans, we need to take a commercial break. Wait a minute! What's he doing out here?!"
Regal was referring to NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle, who came out with the rest of his "Catch Point" brethren.
Matt Riddle: "Bro! What a match! You three really put on a show in there, bros! You were good, but you weren't quite great, bros! You see, whether you like it or not, 'Catch Point' still rules this division! It's only a matter of time before we get those Tag Titles back, bro! And, you're looking at the best junior heavyweight in the world right now, the 'King of Bros!' Just to prove how good we really are, we're challenging any four of the Cruiserweights to take us on next week! So, whichever bros out there have the sacks, we'll see you next Tuesday! Bros!"
Zack Sabre, Jr. grabbed a microphone.
Zack Sabre, Jr.: "Hey, Riddle! That's awful big talk from someone who's hardly ever around here anymore! 'Euro Trash' owns this division now, in case you didn't know it! We have the Tag Team Championship, and I'd have won the Cruiserweight Championship from Ibushi tonight if it were one-on-one! As a matter of fact, I'd win the World Jr. Championship if you gave me a match! 'Euro Trash' will step up and take you out next week! We'll find a partner and see you in this ring!"
Riddle: "It's your funeral, bro!"
"Catch Point" left the ring as Sabre, Scurll, Bate, and Seven began to argue. It seems that "British Strong Style" wanted a piece of "Catch Point" as well. The argument devolved into a fight between those four, and it soon became six-on-six, as "Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne and Aleister Black joined the fight.
Regal: "Now, we really need to take a break and get Security out here! We'll be back in just a moment!"
Regal: "We are back! We finally got the scene cleared here at ringside, but the fighting is still going on in the back!"
The scene shifted to backstage, where "Euro Trash" and "British Strong Style" continued to brawl through Security. Finally, Commissioner Ric Flair showed up and screamed at all six until the fighting had ceased.
Ric Flair: "Hey boys! Enough is enough! I've got a show to run and you're interrupting it! Here's what going to happen! Next week, you two teams will face each other in the first match! The winner picks a partner to face 'Catch Point' later in the show! Now Security, get them out of here!"
Regal: "Commissioner Ric Flair put an end to that scene and announced a six-man tag at the beginning of next week's episode. And, the winners will pick a fourth partner to face 'Catch Point' in the special challenge! Now, that was a decision I actually agree on!"
Hayes: "Yeah, and we reap the benefits as fans! It's a two-for-one special!"
Cornette: "I happen to think that all of Commissioner Flair's decisions are on point! That was just another example!"
Regal: "We'll agree to disagree. Jim, we'll give you your leave now as you escort 'Camp Cornette' out for this big eight-man affair next!"
Match Two ~ "Camp Cornette" ("The Revival" {Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson} and "The Insurgence" {Kevin Steen & Claudio Castagnoli} with Jim Cornette) vs. "The Reckoning" (Bully Ray & D-Von Dudley and "Killer Elite Squad" {Davey Boy Smith, Jr. & Lance Hoyt})
This was the old school, smash mouth tag team match we expected. "The Reckoning" were the more hard-hitting and sadistic of the two groups, while "Camp Cornette" relied on precision and tandem offense. The finish was marred with controversy. "KES" hit the "Killer Bomb" on Castagnoli. Before a cover could be made, "War Machine' came to ringside for the distraction. "KES" jumped out of the ring and followed "War Machine," which lured them up the entrance ramp. That left Bully and D-Von against all four of their opponents. D-Von fell victim to "Shatter Machine."
Winners = "Camp Cornette" by pinfall in 17:44
Regal: "Big win for Jim Cornette's group. But, in fairness. It ended up four-on-two after the interference of 'War Machine.'"
Hayes: Can you blame 'War Machine' for coming out there, though! 'KES' cost them the North American Titles by doing the same thing! Turnabout's fair play!"
Regal: "All is fair in love and war, I suppose! Michael, look at our broadcast colleague up there gloating!"
Cornette and his crew stood tall in the ring. Suddenly, these two came down the ramp and attacked "Camp Cornette," which had its collective backs turned to the entrance at the time:
The hit "Double Super Kicks" to all four men and threw them out of the ring. Then, a familiar voice was heard on a microphone off screen. "Hey, yo!" The fans instantly recognized Scott Hall's unmistakable catchphrase as he walked down the aisle.
Scott Hall: "Hey Jimmy. Sorry to interrupt your little victory celebration, but I got something to say! My son has gone back to Japan because this company failed to use him properly. They wouldn't let me out of my contract to go with him, so I decided to enlist the help of some friends to assist me in getting a little retribution! Meet the best tag team on planet earth, Jimmy and Jey Uso!"
The Usos continued to stomp at "Camp Cornette" any time they tried to reenter the ring. The swung steel chairs as well to keep them at bay.
Hall: "I am unleashing this 'day one ish' on every tag team in the company! It's time for 'The Bad Guy' to rise back to the top of NWA: Show Time! And, it's time for the tag teams of Show Time to visit the 'Uso Penitentiary!'"
The Usos quickly left the ring and escaped through the crowd before "Camp Cornette" could further retaliate. Hall departed backstage.
Regal: "What a moment we just witnessed! Scott Hall has just brought in the Usos, one of the most accomplished tag teams in the world, to take out the tag team division!"
Hayes: "I'm an expert in tag team wrestling, and Scott Hall could not have picked a better tag team in the world to represent him in this company! That is a huge get for 'The Bad Guy!'"
Regal: "I'm interested to hear what Cornette has to say about this! I'm sure we'll see after this commercial break!"
Regal: "We are back with a fuming Jim Cornette!"
Cornette: "You're d*** right I'm fuming! Scott Hall has no idea what he just did! I respect him, but he just stuck his nose in the wrong man's business! If Scott Hall thinks for one minute that the Usos are going to take out any team in 'Camp Cornette,' he is sadly mistaken! He just started a war! We run the tag team division in NWA: Show Time!"
Regal: "Settle down, Jim! You're going to have a stroke!"
Cornette: "Settle Down?! My blood is boiling right now!"
Regal: "We may need to get some medical attention out here for our colleague. Fans, we promised that you'd hear from Bray Wyatt. We understand that 'The New Face of Fear' is on the way to the ring."
The typical Wyatt interruption video played on the tron:
But, this time it was accompanied by three images:
"The New Face of Fear" then made its normal entrance.
Bray Wyatt: "I suppose you people are overjoyed that Bray Wyatt stands here with a bare waist. I suppose you people are overjoyed that Bray Wyatt stands here without the trophy known as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. I suppose you people are overjoyed that Brock Lesnar is now walking around with that piece of tin. Well, Brock Lesnar can have that little trinket if he so desires, because I now realize that I never needed it to begin with. You see, my heart was vexed and my soul was troubled when the final bell rang and Lesnar had his hand raised. 'The Eater of Worlds' felt almost mortal after failing to vanquish 'The Beast.' But, then sweet Abigail whispered in my ear. She reminded me that a god is not limited by the encumbrance of the world. Abigail enlightened me to the fact that that hunk of metal was actually limiting my reach. You see, that championship trophy exists only on the plane of this world. Where I, Bray Wyatt, exist as a universal force, more powerful than all of nature! So, to symbolize my influence, my authority, and my might, Abigail has presented me with a gift she had commissioned. This new championship represents everything that I am. I am the universe! And, this declares it!"
Wyatt: "So, Brock, you may walk around a World Champion of you wish, but Bray Wyatt will continue to dominate this world you live in and will reign even greater as the champion of this universe! One day our paths will cross again. But, the outcome will be very different. 'The New Face of Fear' only grows stronger. We will pierce the darkness and purge the light. We will absorb this world and only destruction will be left in our wake. (sings) 'He's got the whole world...in his hands.' Hehehehehehe. Run."
Regal: "Ominous words from Bray Wyatt, who actually has a new championship belt made in his image. I believe it said 'Universal Champion' with a giant 'W' in the center, for Wyatt, I suppose."
Hayes: "He has declared himself a 'universal champion,' and he has the belt to go along with it!"
Cornette: "That's a real easy way to stay a champion after you just got beat for the only singles title that means you're the best in this business. But, it's clear that he still has his sights set on ending Brock Lesnar."
Regal: "I don't think anyone would be sad to see those two hook up again. Fans, we'll take one more break and be back with our Mid-Atlantic Championship main event next!"
Regal: "We're back! Let's go to the ring for our main event!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ Ricochet vs. The Rock with Eve Torres
This match started as one-on-one, but did not end that way. Ricochet and The Rock put on a great match for nearly ten minutes. Then, Eve Torres attempted to interfere. Suddenly, AJ Lee ran down to ringside to confront Torres. Then, Adam Cole and Britt Baker came to the ring. Baker and Torres started berating Lee, then jumped her. CM Punk ran down to ringside to defend his wife. Cole and Punk then started fighting. This soon became a full-scale melee, with Ricochet and The Rock joining the fray. The referee threw the match out and it disintegrated into a gang fight outside the ring.
Winner = no contest in 12:37 (Ricochet retains)
Regal: "What a scene we have here to close out the night! This is just a massive brawl out here!"
Hayes: "These two factions really hate each other! Something's gotta give!"
Cornette: "CM Punk and Ricochet are treading on thin ice! They' better be careful before they get themselves fired!"
Chelsea Green and Bobby Roode soon ran down to ringside to join in as well. Security was called in for an attempted pull-apart.
Regal: "Jordan Richards always says, 'Don't cross the boss,' but CM Punk and Ricochet don't seem to care! They are trying their best to stick it to 'the man!' Fans, we are all out of time for this week. Please join us again next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour! Don't forget to join Cathy Kelley for After Buzz on www.nwashowtime.com immediately following our broadcast! For Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette, I'm William Regal, saying ta ta for now!"
NWA: Show Time After Buzz with Cathy Kelley aired as scheduled.
Kelley discussed all the various point's of today's episode. She focused her attention on the new championship belt that was unveiled by Bray Wyatt. Kelley noted that, though macabre and "dark," Wyatt's new "Universal Championship" is actually a work of art. She aired a video close-up of the championship that was created by the belt maker, Top Rope Belts (before the championship was presented to Bray), which shows in great detail the intricacies of the championship. Kelley speculated as to whether or not Bray will "defend" this championship or simply use it as a prop. With that, Kelley signed off.
