William Regal: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest sixty minutes of pro wrestling in the world, the Show Time Power Hour! I'm your host, William Regal. With me is hall of famer and color commentator extraordinaire, Michael Hayes! Michael, we have a great episode planned for today!"
Michael Hayes: "Yes sir! It's gonna be a hot one on Charlotte tonight! The Tag Team Titles are on the line in a rematch from last week! 'The Revival' takes on 'War Machine' and the disqualification rule is waived, so Dash and Dawson have nowhere to run, baby!"
Regal: "Also, Joanna Rose will conduct a sit-down interview with CEO Jordan Richards concerning the recent actions of Randy Orton and John Cena, who are still signed to NWA: Show Time, but have been on hiatus for a while."
Hayes: "And, Jordan also said we'll be crowning brand new champions tonight!"
Regal: "Indeed. In fact, that will be our first match! Jordan Richards has commissioned two new championship belts, which will represent the NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship. We have those beautiful title belts sitting in front of us now:"
Regal: "To be eligible to compete for this championship, both team members must be at two hundred twenty-five pounds or less. Mr. Richards has decided not to have a tournament for the championship. Rather, he sanctioned a 'Gauntlet' match to determine the winners. So, without further adieu, let's crown new Champions!"
Match One ~ NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship ~ "Gauntlet" match ~ Noam Dar & Damian Slater, "Bonafide" Fred Yehi & Jonathan Gresham, "Worldwide Underground"--"Darewolf" PJ Black & Jack Evans with "Empress of the Underground" Catrina, Tony Nese & "Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate & Jay White, (and a mystery team)
The first two teams were Dar/Slater and Yehi/Gresham. Newcomers Gresham and Yehi made ultra quick work of Dar and Slater, who never really got off the ground. The next team up was Nese and Dunne, who haven't teamed together, but whose styles meshed well. They looked to have the match in hand, but a surprise "Roll-up" by Gresham eliminated them. Bate and White stormed the ring and began to hit tandem offense. The were electric and the crowd was going crazy for it. Gresham and Yehi got the match back under control and wore down their younger opponents. Yehi prepared for the "Koji Clutch" on Bate, who twisted and turned it into the "Tyler Driver '97" for the win. The final team (at the time) was "Worldwide Underground," which pounced on the weary Bate and White. The youngsters fought back valiantly, but could not overtake the veterans, as Evans hit a scintillating "720 Splash" on White for the victory.
Winners and NEW NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions = "Worldwide Underground" by pinfall in a total match time of 15:43
Johnny Mundo came out to celebrate with his crew.
Regal: "So, 'Worldwide Underground has done it!"
Just then, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva hit to bring out CEO Jordan Richards.
Jordan Richards: "Not so fast, boys and girls! I know it appears as if you have won the inaugural Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship match, but you have a little bit more work to do. You see, I jus signed a team this afternoon to a special deal I've never worked before. The sport is changing, so I decided to make a little change along with it. "Worldwide Underground," you have one more opponent standing between you and those championship belts. Let's bring them out!"
Evans, Black, and Mundo stared at the entrance ramp, awaiting the final pairing of the match. In surprise fashion, their shrouded opponents came out of the crowd and hit stereo dropkicks from the top rope, knocking Mundo and Black from the ring. They double-teamed Evans quickly, with the first competitor hitting a "Canadian Destroyer" that bounced Evans up and into the corner. The second competitor hit a running "Yakuza Kick" that floored Evans for the pin. The competitors took off their breakaway suits and hoodies to reveal:
"Dos Reinas Rudas," Taya and Sexy Star!
Winners and NWA: Show Time Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions = "Dos Reinas Rudas" by pinfall in a total match time of 16:39
Regal: "Taya and Sexy Star are here and they're the new Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions!"
Hayes: "I guess Jordan Richards is getting more progressive! He just signed two women to compete with the men, and they won!"
Regal: Wow! What a way to start the program! We have crowned champions of the Cruiserweight Tag Team division for the first time, and they are women, who've been signed to compete in a men's organization, apparently! Fans, we have to take a commercial break while we digest all this. Back in a moment!"
Regal: "Fans, we're back! The arena is still buzzing about the auspicious debut of Taya and Sexy Star, who just won the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship! We've tried to get a word with them, but they were escorted out of the building and into a limousine by Jordan Richards."
Hayes: "I guess he didn't want them giving an interview yet."
Regal: "It would seem not. Well, it's time to go back to the ring!"
Match Two ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ "Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin with Veda Scott vs. Adam Cole with Maria Kanellis
Adam Cole has iterated the desire to become a "Grand Slam" Champion in NWA: Show Time (Heavyweight, Mid-Atlantic, Television, & Tag Team Championship reigns). He is a two-time Heavyweight Champion already. His task was a tall order in Shelton Benjamin, the first Television Champion in company history. This was a phenomenal match. Both men worked masterfully, weaving a beautiful tapestry of offense and defense. Cole was just a bit better, however. Benjamin went for a "Springboard Shooting Star Press," but was "Superkicked" in mid-air. Cole then hit "Last Shot" for the win.
Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Adam Cole by pinfall in 22:17
Regal: "Adam Cole has won his second different championship in Show Time!"
Hayes: "Yep! Two down, three to go to become our first ever 'Grand Slam' Champion!"
Regal: "We'll be back with our Tag Team Championship match, in just a moment!"
Regal: "Before we go to our main event, Joanna Rose sat down with CEO Jordan Richards briefly this afternoon to ask him about the actions of Randy Orton and John Cena, who are still signed to this company, but have gone on hiatus, making their first appearances in months on NWA: ECW programming. Let's take you to this very interesting interview now."
Joanna Rose: "I'm here with owner and CEO of NWA: Show Time, Jordan Richards. Jordan, thank you for granting me this time."
Richards: "Absolutely, Joanna. I was interested to hear exactly what we'd be talking about today."
Rose: "Well, as you very well know, being the Chairman of the NWA Board of Governors, you see everything that goes in among the member territories of the NWA."
Richards: "Yes, that is correct."
Rose: "So, I'm sure you've seen footage by now from NWA: ECW, the former Wild West promotion. Most specifically, I'm sure you have seen the appearances of 'The Varsity Boys,' John Cena and Randy Orton, who've interfered in multiple matches on that brand. My question is this. Have those two been traded to NWA: ECW or have they gone rogue?"
Richards: "The answer is no, they have not been traded to NWA: ECW officially."
Rose: "So, they showed up at ECW events and television as 'party crashers,' of sorts. Is that it?"
Richards: "Not exactly."
Rose: "OK. Do you care to elaborate?"
Richards: "Not at this time."
Rose: "I see. So, do you have some sort of agreement with NWA: ECW in place now?"
Richards: "Agreement? No. Mutual understanding? Maybe."
Rose: "So, you knew about Orton and Cena's appearances beforehand?"
Richards: "I never said that."
Rose: "But, is it true?"
Richards: "I'll choose not to answer any more questions about John Cena or Randy Orton. They are legendary performers who are under my employ. But, they asked for and were granted a temporary hiatus to travel the world and refocus. As far as what has occurred over at ECW, well, I would suggest to their management, whether that's Shane Douglas, Cibernetico, Ric Flair, Emperor Ihsahn , or whomever, that they secure the reins of the company hierarchy, because it looks like a war is about to begin."
Rose: "Do you expect any other incidents involving Cena and Orton in ECW?"
Richards; "I would say that those two have always been in the midst of controversy. They certainly know how to make themselves known. But, one thing is for certain with them, and that is that nothing is for certain."
Rose: " The world is wondering if they are even partners any longer, especially considering that Cena 'FU'ed' Orton."
Richards: "Those two are like brothers. They fight one minute and join forces the next."
Rose: "So, you are not denying that you knew about those attacks before they happened."
Richards: "I'm not confirming that either. Frankly, I'm done with this line of questioning. Actually, I think I'm done with this interview. Good day, Joanna."
Rose: "Good day, sir. William, back to you."
Regal: "That might be the most cryptic interview I've ever seen with Jordan Richards, who usually never is at a loss for words."
Hayes: "There's something he's not telling us. It's either by choice or by ignorance. But, I've never known Jordan Richards to be an ignorant man."
Regal: "Very interesting, to say the least. Well, it's time for our main event, for the Tag Team Championship!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Tag Team Championship ~ Disqualification Rule is Waived ~ "The Revival"--Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson with Scott Hall and Yellow Barbie vs. "War Machine"--Hanson & Raymond "Death" Rowe
Once again, "War Machine" took it to the champions. Their tandem offense is as fierce as it is strong. Dash and Dawson seemed out of sorts by the sheer power of their opponents. "War Machine" looked to have the match well in hand until "The Power Trip" made its way to ringside. CM Punk began arguing with Hall. Punk could be heard saying, "Hey, I'm out here scouting talent!" to Hall, who would retort, "You better not be looking at my guys!" They continued to argue as the match progressed. Finally, the argument got so heated that Bad Luck Fale, Hangman Page, and Cody Hall came to ringside to confront "The Power Trip." This started a melee that spilled into the ring, forcing the referee to call for the bell and throw the match out.
Winners = no contest in 17:32 ("The Revival" retains)
The fight raged on in and out of the ring, with "The Revival" looking on. "Bullet Club" implored them to join in. Hangman Page was especially persistent. Dash and Dawson relented. They "high-fived" Page before planting him with the "Shatter Machine." "The Revival" then joined "The Power Trip" to overpower the rest of the forces, leaving members of "Bullet Club" and "War Machine" laying.
Regal: "What have we seen here?! 'The Revival' just turned on 'The Bullet Cub' and joined 'The Power Trip' in a massive beating!"
Hayes: "What the heck is going on around here?! First, they're associates of 'The Bullet Club!' Now, they're turning on them and joining up with 'The Power Trip!' I don't get it!"
Regal: "Nor do I! Unfortunately, we don't have time to sort it out this week! Fans, please join us next Tuesday on TBS for more of the Show Time Power Hour, where we hope to get to the bottom of what we've just seen. For Michael Hayes, this is William Regal, saying, ta ta for now."
