The broadcast opened with a video package highlighting the recent confrontations between NWA World Champion Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg from the Show Time Power Hour, along with highlights from this past Thursday's melee on Show Time Femme Fatales.
Barbie Blank: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm your hostess, Barbie Blank. Welcome to Miami, Florida, and 'Turn Up the Heat!' We are live at the American Airlines Arena, home to the NBA's Miami Heat. We have a capacity crowd on hand to witness a PPV quality card of wrestling. This is NWA: Show Time's first ever trip to Miami, and we love it already! At this time, I'll hand it over to our commentary team for tonight!"
Jim Ross: "Thank you, Barbie. Hello everyone! I'm Jim Ross, Lead Commentator for 'Turn up the Heat!' With me tonight is William Regal and Renee Young. Joining us from the Ladies Division is Madusa Miceli. We have a fantastic line-up, right guys?"
William Regal: "Absolutely, Jim! The main event is twelve years in the making, with Brock Lesnar putting the NWA World Championship on the line against his old nemesis, Goldberg! 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin will act as the Special Referee, just as he did in their first encounter. I can't wait for that one!"
Renee Young: "That alone is worth the price of admission, but we have so much more on tap!"
Madusa Miceli: "That's right! The ladies have a massive 14-woman tag team match, that includes our Commissioners Yuzuki Aikawa and Fuka Kakimoto coming out of retirement for one night to take on 'Joshi Mafia!' That one might just steal the show!"
Ross: "We're ready. The fans in Miami are ready. The viewers at home are ready. Scarlett Bordeaux is standing by, so let's go to the ring!"
Match One ~ NWA North American Cruiserweight Championship ~ Xavier Woods with Truth Martini and the "Hoopla Hotties"--Shotzi Blakkhartt & Barbi Hayden vs. Ryusuke Taguchi
This bout shows how big the card was. The first match was for a major NWA Championship. Woods has been busy in defense of his NA Cruiserweight Title since capturing a couple of months ago. Taguchi is a cruiserweight stalwart, but could not quite muster the offense needed to finish off Woods and claim the crown. Xavier hit the "Monte Fisto," followed by "Lost in the Woods" for the pin.
Winner and STILL NWA North American Cruiserweight Champion = Xavier Woods by pinfall in 9:09
Ross: "That was a fast-paced affair! Those two pulled out all the stops in those nine minutes!"
Regal: "Woods has been an impressive champion indeed."
Young: "The outspoken PhD is on a tear!"
Miceli: "I like Woods. I hate Martini, but I like Woods."
Ross: "Next up is some tag team action!"
Match Two ~ "No Disqualification Six-Man Tag Team" match ~ Kurt Angle and "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team"--Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. "Axis of Evil"--Miroslav Barnyashev, Sheamus O'Shaunessy, & Rob Terry with "Bad Bones" John Klinger & Lana
This was a barn-burner. It was a good, old fashioned brawl, with all six men fighting tooth and nail. The villains had the upper hand throughout, but Angle came out with the win for his team after tying Terry to the ropes by the wrists with his own British flag and catching him in an "Ankle Lock" for the submission.
Winners = Kurt Angle & "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team" by submission in 11:33
Ross: "That, my friends, was a slobberknocker!"
Regal: "The heroes have vanquished the villains once and for all!"
Young: "Good always trumps evil eventually!"
Miceli: "Now, that's my kind of match--an all-out war!"
Ross: "Before we go back to the ring, 'SoCal' Val is in the back with a very special guest. Val?"
Valerie Wyndham: "I'm here with none other than 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. Steve, you will reprise your 2004 role as the Special Referee for the main event, an NWA World Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. What can we expect later on?"
Steve Austin: "What you can expect is law and order! 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin called it down the middle in 2004, and, by God, he's gonna call it down the middle tonight!"
Wyndham: "If I remember correctly, you gave 'Stunners' to both Lesnar and Goldberg after that match. Do you think they'll be looking for any retribution?"
Austin: "I hope they do, Val! 'Cause, then, I get to open up a can of 'Whoop A--" on their sorry carcasses! And, that's the bottom line, because 'Stone Cold' said so!"
Wyndham: "Austin's fired up! Back to you, Jim."
Ross: "Thank you, Val! Let's head back to the ring for the Television Championship match!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Television Championship ~ "Ticking Time Bomb" Jason Justice vs. Jay Lethal with Truth Martini and the "Hoopla Hotties"--Shotzi Blakkhartt & Barbi Hayden
The second member of the "House of Truth" did not fair quite as well as the first one did. Lethal had Justice on the run for a while, but Jason turned up the heat when he needed to. Justice has been on the ride of his life recently, reaching unprecedented heights in his singles career. Long known as primarily a tag team wrestler (forming the legendary indy tag team "Boogaloo Crew" with JC Dazz), Justice has proven that he can get it done just fine by himself. Lethal nailed his patented "Lethal Injection," but Justice was too close to the ropes and got a foot over the bottom before the three-count. He eventually hit a "Psycho Slam" out of nowhere for the pin.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Television Champion = Jason Justice by pinfall in 13:07
Ross: "Two title defenses down. Two champions have retained."
Regal: "Well played by both champions!"
Young: "This event has been stellar so far!"
Miceli: "Yes it has, but I'm ready to see the ladies in some action!"
Ross: "As you wish, Madusa. The Women's Tag Team Championship is on the line next!"
Match Four ~ NWA: Show Time Women's Tag team Championship ~ Sachiko & Chisako Jumonji vs. "The Dollhouse"--Eve Torres & Santana Garrett
This was a fantastic ladies match-up. The Jumonjis may be the top women's tag team in the world. They showed their wares against the former Bantamweight Champion Torres and her stable mate. The Americans slowed the action down in an attempt to ground the sisters. This ploy worked for quite some time. Sachiko and Chisalo got it going by the end. The landed the "Jumonji Drop" on Garrett for the victory after a hard fought battle.
Winners and STILL NWA: Show Time Women's Tag Team Champions = "The Jumonji Sisters" by pinfall in 15:28
After the match, a few members of "Belleza Escondido" (including Zeuxis, Lluvia, and Reina Dorado), led out by Sexy Flor, attacked the champions on their way back to the dressing room. Flor landed a "Reverse Hurricanrana" on Chisako, knocking her unconscious on the arena floor. Trainers and paramedics were called in to place Chisako on a stretcher and transported her to a local medical facility.
Ross: "I can't believe that mugging by 'Belleza Escondido!' That came out of nowhere!"
Regal: "That was a brutal sneak attack!"
Young: "Chisako's head was spiked directly on the floor. She did not look good when they wheeled her out of the arena."
Miceli: "That is so unlock Lluvia and her girls. They have always conducted themselves honorably."
Ross: "Perhaps the enticement of the championship gold the Jumonjis wear was more than they could stand. Fans, 'So Cal' Val is standing by with another guest at this time."
Wyndham: "I'm here with the legendary Bull Nakano, who will be the Special Enforcer outside the ring for our big 14-woman tag team match. Bull, it's great to see you in NWA: Show Time!"
Bull Nakano: "I am honored."
Wyndham: "Tell about why you excepted the invitation from Madusa Miceli to sign with NWA: Show Time?"
Nakano: "It's the best in the world. I want to be with the best."
Wyndham: "Now, you are the Special Enforcer tonight. What do you predict will be your role in the match?"
Nakano: "I have to keep order. I will play a big role tonight. These women must stay in line. I will make sure they do."
Wyndham: "It sounds like you've still got it. Is there a chance we will see you step into the ring as a wrestler once again?"
Nakano: "Never say never."
Wyndham: "Thank you, Bull. Jim?"
Ross: "The legend herself, Bull Nakano. I think the participants in that match might want to keep their distance, if they know what's good for them."
Regal: "Bull Nakano is one of the toughest ladies ever to grace the ring."
Young: "I can't get over how good she looks! Man, she is so fit! She's beautiful. But, I wouldn't let that beauty fool me if I were any of the fourteen women she is in charge of keeping in check."
Miceli: "Bull's my girl. We sparred a couple of months ago in Japan. Trust me. She can still go!"
Ross: "We'll see a little later on. Right now, new Mid-Atlantic Champion Mikael Judas makes his first title defense!"
Match Six ~ NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Championship ~ "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas vs. The Rock with Maria Kanellis
The Rock and Judas made it to the finals of the tournament to crown the first Mid-Atlantic Champion, with Judas pulling out the mild upset. Judas has been a destructive force since becoming one of the original Show Time signees. The Rock is a first ballot hall of famer. This made for a classic encounter. The Rock was actually cheered by a large portion of the audience, which makes sense, as Miami is his hometown. The Rock controlled much of the pace and action. He used his strength and athleticism to keep the champion off balance. Judas came back and seized the momentum, but incidental contact between the referee (Justin King) and The Rock threw a monkey wrench into the proceedings. Judas lifted The Rock up for "El Crucifejo" and launched him into the corner. The Rock bounced out and slumped to the canvas. Judas covered, but referee King was still trying to rouse himself. Maria came into the ring and jumped on Judas' back. This didn't last long, as he stood straight up, with her still attached. Maria hopped off and ran like a scalded dog. The distraction allowed The Rock to nail Judas from behind. He then placed Judas in the "Sharpshooter." Referee King promptly called for the bell. The Rock leaped for joy, thinking Judas had submitted. Maria grabbed the belt and brought it into the ring. The Rock raised the championship trophy high over his head and paraded around the ring. Referee King them snatched the title belt away from The Rock and awarded it to Judas.
Winner and STILL NWA: Show Time Mid-Atlantic Champion = Mikael Judas by disqualification in 17:49
The Rock was livid as referee King explained that he had seen Maria's interference, thus necessitating the DQ. Many fans booed the result, but the majority were glad Judas retained.
Ross: "Mikael Judas is a fearsome individual. The Rock gave him all he could handle, but came up just short. I think the right man won, regardless of how his hand got raised."
Regal: "I agree. It looked like Judas had The Rock dead to rights before Maria interfered."
Young: "She is a devious little vixen. I'll give her credit for trying to help her man get an edge."
Miceli: "Maria is cunning and crafty. That interference nearly paid off. I'm sure The Rock will be protesting this result."
Ross: "It's now time for the main events! First up is the 14-woman affair!"
Match Seven ~ 14-Woman Tag Team match with Bull Nakano as the Special Outside Enforcer ~ "Joshi Mafia"--"Godmother" Aja Kong, Awesome Kong, Kana, Io Shirai, Mio Shirai, Hikaru Shida, and ACT Yasukawa with "The Boss" Manami Toyota vs. Ladies Division Commissioner Yuzuki Aikawa, Deputy Commissioner Fuka Kakimoto, "Candy Crush"--Kairi Hojo and Chelsea Diamond, Yoshiko, & "Shin'yū (Best Friends)"--Tsukasa Fujimoto and Arisa Nakajima
This was the match of the night, speaking solely from a workrate perspective. The real stars of the match were the Commissioners, who haven't missed a beat. Yasukawa refused to engage with Yoshiko, avoiding her beating like the plague. When Yoshiko finally got her hands on ACT, she pounded her unmercifully. She chased ACT all the way to the dressing room, effectively turning this into a 12-woman match. Hojo and Io squared off to a howl of delight from the crowd. They fought to a stalemate, each hitting some hay makers along the way. Nakajima and Fujimoto went after some big game, in "Queen Kongs." They fought into the crowd. Bull Nakano got in on the action after referee Carly Rae was knocked unconscious. Nakano got into the ring and Aja Kong tried to take a swipe at her. She blocked the shot and gave one of her own, sending Aja reeling. Aikawa had perched on the top rope and flew through the air with a beautiful "Flying Body Press" for the pin, counted by Nakano.
Winners = Yuzuki Aikawa, Fuka Kakimoto, "Candy Crush," Yoshiko, & "Shin'yū" by pinfall in 19:46
Ross: "What a match! Nakano said that she was not be crossed and she meant it!"
Regal: "That was a fantastic contest! 'Joshi Mafia' finally got a taste of its own medicine!"
Young: "That was a nice measure of vengeance for the good girls!"
Miceli: "My girl Bull told everyone not to cross her. Aja found out the hard way!"
Ross: "It's time for the main event of the evening, for the Heavyweight Championship of the World!"
Match Eight ~ NWA World Heavyweight Championship with Special Referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin ~ Brock Lesnar with Maria Kanellis vs. Goldberg
This match was much harder hitting than their battle twelve years ago. Lesnar and Goldberg threw everything but the kitchen sink at one another. Brock hit one "German Suplex" after another. Goldberg kept shrugging them off and punched and kicked his way through Brock. Both men were bleeding by the end of the match. Austin seemed to be having the time of his life, as he let the action go with little regard for the rules. The tide turned when Austin got poked in the eye. As he struggled to regain his vision, Goldberg bumped into him inadvertently. Austin, in defensive mode, immediately went back to his fighting days. He undoubtedly thought he was being attacked and dropped Goldberg with a boot and a "Stunner." Lesnar took that opportunity to nail an "F-5." Austin reluctantly counted the three after he realized what happened.
Winner and STILL NWA World Heavyweight Champion = Brock Lesnar by pinfall in 22:32
Ross: "Brock Lesnar remains champion. I guess he got his win back, but it came gift wrapped, courtesy of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin."
Regal: "Austin seemed to be disappointed in the strange turn of events."
Young: "He must have snapped into 'wrestler mode' when he got poked in the eye. I guess he instinctively hit the 'Stunner' on Goldberg when they bounced off each other."
Miceli: "I've been there before. You immediately revert back to all those years of matches when something like that happens. It's pure instinct and adrenaline at that point."
Lesnar celebrated as Austin looked on dejectedly. When Goldberg got to his feet, he confronted Austin, who walked away without a physical altercation. The crowd booed vehemently.
Ross: "Well, it looks like Goldberg will leave unsatisfied tonight. We'll see how this whole thing plays out. Fans, we're out of time. I hope you enjoyed this iPPV as much as we did. It's been my pleasure to call the action alongside this all-star crew. Folks, tune into TBS this Tuesday for Show Time Power Hour and the fallout from tonight. Thanks for tuning in! From Miami, Florida, this is Jim Ross. We'll see you next time!"
