Match #1: Top Gun Talwar vs Ronin
Before this even gets started I'm gonna make something very clear. I HATE TOP GUN TALWAR. Absolutely hate him. His whole gimmick is to make stupid ass "Ashasha" noises throughout the match, and he always makes crude sexual jokes in his matches. His matches are joke matches, which I hate...now that we've gotten my disdain for Top Gun outta the way. Let's move on to the match itself
So we got Top Gun (Who I've described above) and Ronin...who looks like a Fat Power Rangers reject. So on the face of it this match doesn't appear to have much potential. Botched moves here and there, Bad gimmicks, but it does pick up a bit as it goes, and the two start executing decent power moves on each other that work out sometimes. Match is short enough clocking in at just a bit over 7 and a half minutes (Plus there's a screwed up in the editing of the match on the DVD where they go from fighting in the corner to just laying in the middle of the ring at one point...you miss a bit of action, but who really cares?).
Bottom Line: Top Gun Talwar was part owner of PWG, and if not for that, he probably he wouldn't have been on their cards hardly ever.
Grade: 1 Star *
Match 2: Tony Kozina vs Human Tornado
I won't get into the Human Tornado/Candace Larae bit that happens prior to the match. You'd have to have followed the product for it to mean anything to you, and it's usually pretty messed up even if you do follow the storyline.
Match itself is half decent, some botched moves though including one particularly scary looking botched move where Kozina goes to do a Hurricanrana from the top rope, and basically just kinda falls back on his own head. The commentators pretend Tornado reversed the move and slammed him, but it was obviously a botch. Candace Larae, the woman who Tornado had been smacking around and talking shit to was ringside, and wound up costing Kozina the match inadvertently as she wanted to turn on Tornado and cause him to lose apparently. At the end Tornado looks like he's gonna smack her again just because, and she hugs him. So it's odd to watch.
Grade: 1 and half Stars *`
Match 3: The Young Bucks & T.J. Perkins vs Karl "The Machine Gun" Anderson, Scott Lost and Bino Gambino
A big step up in action and talent of the performers from the first few matches on this card. Anderson was still fairly inexperienced here, so Scott Lost and Bino Gambino carry a lot of the weight on their side of equation in this match (Lost in particularly who is a good worker), but it's a fun match with plenty of innovative moves from The Young bucks and T.J. Perkins. Good chemistry from the teams here too considering that they were just kinda thrown together for the purposes of this match. Back and forth action, ends with a 450 splash from all 3 guys on the Young Bucks and Perkins team to pin all 3 of their rivals simultaneously and get the win.
Grade: 3 Stars ***
Match 4: Davey Richards vs Fergal "Prince" Devitt
I'm sure a lot of you know Fergal "Prince" Devitt. Either for his time in New Japan or through his current gimmick Finn Balor or both. Davey Richards to my knowledge has always been Davey Richards. This is a fun match on paper, and it delivers in the ring as well. These guys are both very solid performers and have tremendous back and forth momentum and all kinds of moves on display. Top Rope moves from Devitt, High Impact moves being turned into Submission holds, an excellent display of In Ring talent from both guys, and we can see why they've both (Devitt in particular) moved on to bigger and better things in the Wrestling business. Very good match.
