NWA "Starrcade 2K15"

"Starrcade 2K15" will go down in history as the most successful event ever produced. Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA, were the gracious and accommodating hosts for this once-in-a-lifetime extravaganza. Reports have indicated that 160,092 tickets were sold between the two cities, with another 100,000 watching in closed-circuit locations worldwide. Preliminary numbers suggest over 1.7 million homes ordered "Starrcade" on pay-per-view, shattering all wrestling and other sports-related buy rates.

The following post includes the detailed results (city of match emanation is in parentheses):

Event hosts Jim Ross (Charlotte) and Barbie Blank (Atlanta) welcomed everyone to the broadcast. They also introduced the NWA "Legends of the Squared Circle" Consulting Group, who were present at both venues. The first match was held in the Georgia Dome.

Match One ~ Multi-promotional "Legends Battle Royal"

All 40 legends began the match at one time, which created a real logjam. As they jockeyed for position, several legends went over the top rope early, including Dave Taylor, Scott Steiner, Carlos Amano, and "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton. One by-one, the names began to stack up. There were several women holding their own against their male counterparts. Particularly impressive were Lisa Varon, "Team Bestie," Daffney, and Emi Sakura. They lasted much longer than fans might have expected. Other women did not fair so well. Toshiyo Yamada, Jackie Gayda-Haas, Joanie "Chyna" Laurer, and Mayumi Ozaka made the next exits. They were followed by Akira Taue, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Lisa Moretti, Barry Windham, and Christy Hemme. Melina, Layla El, Road Dog, Michael "P.S." Hayes, and Jushin "Thunder" Liger were the next unfortunate victims. Saraya Knight, Kyoko Inoue, "Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Billy Gunn, and Nora Greenwald toppled next. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat was dumped off the top as he was set to attempt his "Flying Body Press." "Team Bestie" was eliminated simultaneously by Takako Inoue and Madusa Miceli, who were then unceremoniously dumped by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who gave them his signature "one-finger salute." "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash charged at Austin, only to go headlong over the top when Steve "low bridged" him. Chris Jericho, Michelle McCool, and Emi Sakura got the boot next.

The final eight were "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Sting, Scott Hall, "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Lisa Varon, William Regal, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and Daffney. Varon flipped Daffney over the top. Flair ducked a "Stinger Splash," which sent the painted warrior over the top rope. Regal went over after "Sweet Chin Music" from "HBK." "Stone Cold" nailed a "Stunner" on Michaels that sent him careening over the top. The final pairing was Flair, Austin, Varon, and Hall, which would almost guarantee an NWA: Show Time victory in the match. Lisa Varon got the most shocking eliminations of the night when she pushed both Austin and Hall over the top (they were tussling precariously along the ropes). As she celebrated her triumph, Flair came up from behind and ran her over the top rope, winning the match.

The crowd was ecstatic, as the oldest participant of the night had achieved victory.

Match Two ~ NWA: UHCW "6-woman Tag Team Challenge" match (Charlotte) ~ Dana Brooke, Ms. Chif, & Jessica Havok vs. Bayley, Natalya, & Mia Yim

This match was wild from the opening bell. All six ladies spent most of their time in the ring. The referee never did gain control. Havok and Yim were the stars of this one. Havok got the win for her team after a chairshot to Natalya behind the referee's back.

Match Three ~ NWA: UHCW "Lucha Invitational" ("Ultimate X" style match) {Atlanta} ~ Jack Evans vs. Pentagon, Jr. vs. Super Fly vs. Super Dragon vs. Argenis vs. Son of Havoc vs. Drago vs. Fenix

This was an early contender for "match of the night" honors. A roped "X" was fashioned overhead in center ring. A golden key was dangling in the middle of the "X." The object was to scale the ropes and retrieve the key. There were some insane spots. The biggest bumps were taken by Evans, who might be the biggest daredevil in pro wrestling. Fenix had several bright spots, as did Argenis. Pentagon, Jr. was inches from winning the match, when Drago leapt from the top rope to the middle of the ring, grabbing the key in mid-air.

Match Four ~ NWA: Wild West "Special Six-person Challenge" Match (Charlotte) ~ Austin Aries, Joe "Thunder" Lider, & Brooke Tessmacher vs. Cibernetico, Chessman, & Taya Valkyrie

Wild West is known for its wooly matches. The promotion has definitely earned the name "wild." This challenge match pulled out all the stops in terms of spot wrestling. Aries shined, as he usually does. Chessman showed several impressive feats of strength, while Cibernetico sort of directed traffic. The girls tore into each other as well. The finish came when Aries nailed a "Brainbuster" on Cibernetico. Tessmacher scaled the ropes and landed a "Superfly Leap" onto him for the surprise pinfall.

Match Five ~ NWA: Wild West "Wild West Cup" Final (Atlanta) ~ "The Mighty Don't Kneel"--Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste vs. "Time Splitters"--Kushida & Alex Shelley vs. "Young Bucks"--Nick & Matt Jackson

The finals of the "Wild West Cup" was one of the best tag team matches I have seen in quite some time. Every team had moments of brilliance in this one. "Time Splitters" out-quicked everyone. "Young Bucks" hit all of their signature tandem offense. "TMDK" were impressive as the mat technicians of the bunch. "TMDK" won it with the "Tank Buster" on Shelley.

Winners = "The Mighty Don't Kneel" by pinfall in 14:22

"TMDK" was presented with the "Wild West Cup," which is a three-foot tall saloon style etched crystal beer stein.

Match Six ~ NWA: Show Time Bantamweight Championship ~ "Super Seven Elimination" match (Charlotte) ~ Mika Nagano vs. Mayu Iwatani vs. Makoto vs. Kaho Kobayashi vs. Aoi Kizuki vs. Eve Torres vs. Maki Narumiya

This was a phenomenal contest. The crowd vehemently booed Torres, who was given a spot in this match by NWA: Show Time owner and CEO Jordan Richards, based upon the fact that she recently became his Executive Assistant. She earned her keep, though, making Narumiya the first elimination of the night with an "Anaconda Vice." Kobayashi was the next to go. Makoto hit her with "Arabesque" for the pin. Iwatani nailed a "Frog Splash" on Kizuki, but Nagano inexplicably broke up the pin attempt. She went for the "Fujiwara Armbar" on Kizuki instead. Torres jumped on top of Nagano and scored the surprise pin before Mika realized what was happening. Makoto got the pin on Iwatani, with an "O'Connor Roll" after she collided with Torres. Torres snuck up behind Makoto and caught her in a "Rear Naked Choke," which put her to sleep. Torres worked over Kizuki and looked to have the match well in hand. She cinched in a "Kimura Lock." Kizuki nearly tapped out, but managed to fight off the pain long enough to roll Torres into a modified "Cradle" for the upset victory.

Winner and NEW NWA: Show Time Bantamweight Champion = Aoi Kizuki, last eliminating Eve Torres in 19:11

Match Seven ~ NWA: Show Time "Suicide Skywalkers" match (three-level scaffold) {Charlotte} ~ The Rock, John Cena, Randy Orton, & Adam Cole with Maria Kanellis vs. Kevin Steen, Claudio Castagnoli, Dean Ambrose, & "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas

The rotation would have called for this match to take place in Atlanta. However, because the "Lucha Invitational" ring set-up was already in place at the Georgia Dome, it was necessitated for this match to take place at Bank of America Stadium. This was easily the most dangerous match concept of the night, and one of the most dangerous matches ever devised. Three levels of scaffolding were set up over the ring. An opponent began at the top level and was to be forced to the lower levels. Once an opponent was forced from every level of scaffolding and to the ring, he would be eliminated from the match. When all members of a team had been forced to the ring, the match would be completed. Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton began the match. Ambrose was pushed onto the second level, where he thudded. Castagnoli was next, and forced Orton to the second level. Cena then entered and knocked Castagnoli down. Judas made the next entry and quickly dispatched Cena. There were now four men on the second level of scaffolding, as Adam Cole joined the match. Cole only lasted thirty second before he was dumped by Judas, bring The Rock in as the final competitor on his team. Ambrose and Castagnoli were dropped to the third level simultaneously by Cena and Orton. The Rock was able to dump Judas to the second level, brining Steen in as the final entrant. Steen dropped The Rock and followed him to level two. Judas dropped Cena and Cole at the same time to the third level. Cena was immediately dumped to the ring by Ambrose and Castagnoli, making him the first elimination. Cole dropped Claudio, eliminating him. Steen and The Rock were precariously perched between the second and third levels of the scaffolding as Orton attempted to hold The Rock up. Judas jerked Orton away and pulled The Rock to the third level. Steen followed. Cole was launched to the ring by Ambrose, who was then flung to the ring by The Rock. While Judas was dazed, Orton and The Rock sent Steen to the ring, creating a two-on-one advantage. The hulking Judas stared down his opponents. In the midst of a struggle, The Rock accidentally nailed Orton, which caused him to fall to the ring, leaving Judas and The Rock as the final competitors. Judas finally dispatched The Rock, making him the sole survivor for his team.

Winners = Kevin Steen, Claudio Castangoli, Dean Ambrose, and "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas, with Judas last eliminating The Rock in 17:38

Match Eight ~ #1 Contender to the NWA: HAWK Young Guns Championship (Atlanta) ~ Andrew Everett vs. Chase Owens

Owens and Everett stare each other down from opposite corners. Owens runs at Everett, who evades to the apron. Owens stops from crashing into the corner and connects with a "Triangle Kick" to the side of Everett’s head, sending him to the floor. Chase would wait till Everett stood up, then slingshot himself outside with a "Body Press." Owens pulled Everett to his feet then leaned him against the apron. Owens starts punching and chopping Everett. He went for a whip to the barricade, but Everett turned it into a "Moonsault" that took Owens down. Everett would take to the apron and connect with a "Diving Neckbreaker." Everett’s legs crashed into the barricade and both men lay in pain on the floor. The ref was looking down on both men, then left the ring and slid both men back inside the ring. Everett would be grounded for most of the match, as his legs kept hurting him, which prevented him from going fast or high. Owens took full advantage of this. He would focus all his attacks on the injured legs of Everett. He would also mix in various "Leg Vines" and "Single-leg Crabs" that kept Everett hurting. While he was able to fight back, some his early folly kept him from getting further in the match. After a "WBTK Driver," Owens flowed into a "Texas Cloverleaf!" Everett tapped out to the hold.

Match Nine ~ NWA: HAWK King's Court Championship (Charlotte) ~ "Wyatt Family"--Bray Wyatt, Dave Finlay, Jr., & Frightmare vs. "Inner City Machine Guns"--Ricochet & Rich Swann

Guns win the coin flip and chose tag team rules. Wyatt chose Dave and Frightmare. Dave starts in the ring with Ricochet. They look to lock up, but Dave ducks out, then levels Ricochet with a "Clothesline" to the back. While Finlay would dominate the opening minutes of the match with his ferocious strikes, Ricochet would then connect with a kick out of nowhere to Dave’s head. Ricochet was able to get the tag and Swann came in. Swann quickly connected with a "Lariat," followed by a "Superkick." Swann followed up with a "Standing Moonsault." Swann then knocked Frightmare off the apron with a "Dropkick." Swann climbed to the top rope, then hit a "Missle Dropkick" on Dave. Dave rolls out of the ring. Swann slingshots out onto him. Frightmare connects with a "Suicide Dive," followed by a "Double Moonsault" by Ricochet onto all three men. The match lost all resemblance of order after this point. Swann and Frightmare took to hitting the others with various dives off of the apron and barricade. Dave would take a diving Swann and launch him head-first into the corner post. Ricochet would catch Dave off guard with an apron lifted "Hurricanrana." Frightmare "Moonsaulted" off the top rope right onto Ricochet. Bray would roll Dave and Swann into the ring. Bray would stand on the apron and hold Frightmare over his head. Bray tossed Frightmare into Ricochet. Swann would then connect with a leaping "Enziguiri," knocking Bray off the Apron. Dave "Lariated" Swann in the corner. Dave then dropped Swann with the "Celtic Cutter!" Dave covered. 1…2…3!

Match Ten ~ NWA: DFW Hardcore Open Challenge (Atlanta)

"Blood Generation's" music plays to bring out Magnitude Kishiwada.

Kishiwada: "I'm issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back who wants to be made an example of!"

Mack: "Well, we were told Togi Makabe was going to accept this challenge, but he's nowhere to be found."

Suddenly, the tron feed cuts to the dressing room, to show the rest of "Blood Generation" laying a violent beating on Makabe.

Doc: "What an underhanded attack!"

Kishiwada: "Well, since no one else is coming, guess I'll just leave."

Suddenly a very pale young man in a white shirt walks down to ringside.

Kishiwada: "Who the h--- are you?!"

Mystery Opponent: "I'm called the Vampire Samurai."

Kishiwada: "You sure you want this fight?"

Vampire Samurai nods.

Kishiwada: "Your funeral, kid."

The bell rings & Magnitude with a "Big Boot" to start off. "Monster Slam" & this one's done. 1 2, but Magnitude rips him off the mat.

Kishiwada: "No way! Consider this a demonstration to The Butcher, so he knows what he's in for when I get my rematch for the DWF Hardcore Title!"

Magnitude with a chair & nearly caves in VS's skull.

Mack: "My God!"

Doc: "That was nasty!"

Kishiwada delivers 4 more vicious chair shots to a downed Samurai, then drops an elbow. He picks him up and hits the "Mag Driver."

Magnitude leaves the ring.

Mack: "Well mercifully this..."

Doc: "Scratch that. Kishiwada just put the steel steps in the ring!"

Mack: "This assault is going to continue!"

Magnitude tears the cover off the turnbuckle, exposing the steel ring. Samurai is back up but, gets sent right back down with a brass knuckles enhanced right hand to the back. Vampire gets back up, only to get a face full of steps for his trouble. The steps were driven into the Samurai's spine, not once, but 3 times. Now, Magnitude is just putting the boots to the Vampire. Then, he hits the "Mandora Backbreaker." He picks the Samurai back up & rams his head into the exposed turnbuckle 10 times.

Mack: "Somebody stop this!"

Doc: "This is one of the most malicious beatings we've seen!"

Magnitude "Gorilla Presses" the VS & drops him face-first on the steel ring in the corner. A "Headbutt" & now Vampire is bleeding. Another "Gorilla Press," this time on the mat, then a 3rd again face-first into the steel ring steps, then delivers 4 more shots to the face & ribs with the steel steps. "Elevated Powerbomb," followed by 3 more shots with the steps, while Vampire is down. Another to his face, then another "Gorilla Press" into the exposed turnbuckle, then a "Mandriller." Kishiwada rams his head into the steel ring post another 10 times, then hits a decapitating "Lariat." Another 3 shots with the steel steps. CIMA has appeared ringside & tells Kishiwada to end it. Another "Gorilla Press" & now, he decides to pin Samurai. You could have counted to 1,000 after that beating.

Winner = Magnitude Kishiwada by pinfall in 8:09

After the match, Magnitude breaks ref Deep Duck in half with a "Spear."

Doc: "Vampire Samurai hasn't moved."

Mack: "Well yeah! That wasn't a wrestling match, that was an assassination attempt by Magnitude!"

Doc: "It's a good thing CIMA came out when he did. If he hadn't, who knows how far that would've gone?!"

Mack: "An ambulance is on its way for Vampire Samurai."

Match Eleven ~ #1 Contenders to the NWA: DFW Women's Tag Team Championship (Charlotte) ~ "Kimber Bombs"--Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb vs. "Team Blondage"--Amber O'Neal & Krissy Vain

Mack: "Well after that last match, lets get things back in control as 'Team Blondage' takes on 'Kimber Bombs' to determine the #1 contenders for the DWF Women's Tag Team Titles."

Doc: "In the gauntlet match, 'Kimber Bombs' had a breakout performance & many argue, if they had a better draw, would be the tag champs now."

Mack: "On the other hand, 'Blondage' has a case of being screwed over. When the 3rd 'Home-Wrecker,' Jetta's, interference led to a Lacey & Rain victory."

Looks like its going to be Cherry Bomb starting along with Amber O'Neal. Bomb with a "Snap Suplex," then unloads with chops in the corner. She goes for the "Cherry Choke," but Amber blocks it. O'Neal up top. Vaine blind tags herself in. Amber with the "Phoenix Splash," but Cherry gets the knees up. "Cherry Popper," but the the ref tells her Amber isn't legal. Krissy with the "Special Attraction," but Kimber breaks it up. "Palm Strike" to Vaine. Amber back in. "Reverse STO" to Lee. "Sparkling Diamond" to Bomb, but Cherry gets her foot on the ropes. Kimber tags in. "Cross-Armbreaker" to Vaine, but Amber breaks it up. Amber with a "Spear" to Lee. They've got Kimber up for the "Blonde Bomb." Cherry with the "BSE" to Vaine, then looks for one on O'Neal, but she ducks & Bomb "Superkicks" the ref. Cherry with "Anger as Beauty" to Krissy's arm that was already weakened by Kimber. Amber back in. Lee takes her down with the "Alligator Clutch," but the ref is still down.

Wait! Jetta is in the ring. "Straightjacket Lungblower" to Kimber. Jetta puts Amber on top of Lee. Cherry sees what's going down and takes out Jetta with a "Lariat." Then, Rain appears with one of the tag titles. She goes to hit Cherry, but Bomb ducks & she hits Vaine instead. Cherry takes out Rain on the outside. Senior ref "Big" Ben Bash comes in to try and restore order. O'Neal sees Kimber Lee is out of it. "Hurricanrana" attempt, but Kimber blocks & holds Amber in the prone position. Cherry back in. "BSE" to the prone O'Neal, then Kimber drops Amber with a "Ganso Bomb."

Doc: "DAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGERRRROOOOUS!"

Lacey tries to attack, but Cherry with a "Cherry Popper" on one of the tag titles, as Bash makes the 3-count.

Winners and NEW #1 contenders to the NWA: DWF Women's Tag Team Championship = "Kimber Bombs" by pinfall in 12:13

Mack: "It's pretty apparent that this isn't the outcome the champs wanted at all."

The five NWA World Championship matches will be posted tomorrow (12/1).
