Madusa Miceli: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the hottest hour on television, Show Time Femme Fatales! I'm your hostess, Madusa Miceli. Alongside me, as always, are my lovely co-hostesses Melissa Santos and Noel Harlow. Ladies, today, we find who the 'Top Gun' is."
Melissa Santos: "That's right, Madusa! We will have the semi-finals and finals of the 'Femme Fatales Top Gun' tournament in the studio today. It promises to be an epic hour!"
Noel Harlow: "The quality of action that we've seen over the last month has been off the charts good. I can't wait to see what the 'final four' have to offer us today!"
Miceli: "Well then, let's take it Nina Samuels for the introductions to our first semi-final match-up!"
Match One ~ 1 Kana vs. 2 Io Shirai
This was the last match to feature members of "Joshi Mafia" pitted against each other. The other times this occurred in the tournament produced phenomenal matches. Although these ladies are bonded together as part of the same group, they still have the drive and determination to be the best. Kana was her aggressive best, utilizing her vast array of kicks and hip attacks. Io played the role of defensive counterpuncher to perfection. She took what Kana gave her and worked a master class in not getting her head kicked off. Ultimately, it was a stroke of luck that swayed the match. Kana went to the top rope for a "Diving Splash," which she has used on occasion, but is slightly out of character for her these days. One would assume she was pulling out all the stops to get to the tournament finale. She hit the maneuver, but she and Io bounced near the ropes. As the referee's hand was about hit the mat for three, Io flopped her foot across the bottom rope. The referee's momentum forced her hand to hit the mat anyway. Kana, assuming she had won, leaped to her feet for joy! The referee (Nikkon Lee) attempted to explain what happened, as Kana argued back, obviously confused and frustrated. This gave Io time to recoup. She came from behind Kana and ran her into the ropes, executing an "O'Connor Roll" for the pinfall. This time, Lee's hand hit the mat for three just before Kana kicked out.
Winner = 2 Io Shirai by pinfall in 10:11
Kana was livid again, but relented and shook Io's hand. As she left the ring, Kana nailed referee Lee with a kick to the gut.
Miceli: "Our second number one seed has been knocked off. I had Kana pegged for the finals, but Io has come through!"
Santos: "Io was done for after that 'Splash.' If they had not been so close to the ropes, she would have been counted out. Then, she snuck in the surprise pin of her own."
Harlow: "Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good. In Shirai's case, she was both today. She'll try to recover while she waits for the winner."
Miceli: "After the break, we'll have the next semi-final match."
Match Two ~ 1 Manami Toyota vs. 1 Kairi Hojo
Hojo was not projected as a number one seed by the majority of insiders, so she was certainly looked at as the weakest of the four top wrestlers headed into "Top Gun." Most prognosticators had her penciled in as a number two. But, she has proven her worth to the world, cutting down the competition like a riding lawnmower. However, Manami stood across the ring as arguably the greatest in-ring talent in the history of women's wrestling, the reigning and defending NWA: Show Time Women's Champion. She was the odds-on favorite to win the tournament, having suffered no defeats in her Show Time career and only one pinfall loss otherwise, which was the controversial "Dog Collar" match against Gail Kim where Kana blatantly interfered and cost Toyota the NWA World Women's Championship. Hojo showed real intimidation at first. Manami possess such a presence in the ring. She is understated verbally. She does not really taunt. She does not really parade herself. She is the best and she knows it, but she does not act with arrogance. She exudes class, integrity, and dignity. But, her aura is unmistakable inside the ring. Toyota worked Hojo over for much of the match. Kairi was game, but Toyota is THAT good. Toyota had Hojo on her heels and was looking to put her away. She scaled the top rope for one of her patented "Missile Dropkicks." Hojo staggered, tripped, and inadvertently fell into the top rope, shaking it and causing Manami to fall awkwardly down the to floor. She landed precariously on her ankle and immediately screamed in pain. The referee ("Fast Count" Florez) began to make the mandatory ten-count. Hojo struggled to her feet inside the ring while Toyota writhed in pain outside it. Hojo made her way up at seven. Toyota was hobbling, at best. She launched herself toward the apron at nine, but simply could not put enough weight on her ankle to beat the count.
Winner = 1 Kairi Hojo by countout in 15:36
Miceli: "That was a phenomenal bout! I wish it hadn't ended so inconclusively. More importantly, we are praying for my girl Manami. She took a nasty spill to the floor."
Santos: "The trainers are looking at her now, but she is hurt for sure."
Harlow: "Hojo is through to the finals in a big upset, but the focus is on Manami Toyota right now."
Hojo helped trainers get Manami to the back, as Toyota received a standing ovation from the crowd. She gave a "thumbs up" to everyone, which got a rousing ovation.
Miceli: "Yumi Ohka will defend the TV Championship in a moment! Stay with us!"
Match Three ~ NWA: Show Time Femme Fatales Championship ~ Yumi Ohka vs. Celeste
Celeste made a great run through the tournament, so she was rewarded with a title opportunity. Ohka takes on all comers, so she obliged with relish. Celeste's array of power moves was on display. Ohka used her martial arts acumen to keep her bigger foe off balance. Celeste trapped Ohka in a "Torture Rack." Ohka seemed doomed. As Yumi wiggled above her, Celeste backed up from center ring to regain her positioning. They ended up close to the corner. This allowed Ohka to plant her feet into the turnbuckle and thrust backward, sending Celeste head over heels and into a "Crucifix" pinning combination.
Winner and still NWA: Show Time Femme Fatales Champion = Yumi Ohka by pinfall in 7:02
Miceli: "Yumi Ohka keeps getting it done!"
Santos: "She has been on an impressive run as of late."
Harlow: "Yumi Ohka is a class act and a champion we can all be proud of!"
Miceli: "The finals are next! Stick around!"
Match Four ~ "Femme Fatales Top Gun" Tournament Final ~ 1 Kairi Hojo vs. 2 Io Shirai
These two former stable mates and now bitter enemies went at it tooth and nail. Senior Official Carly Rae had difficulty maintaining control of the contest, which went inside and outside the ring. This bordered on organized chaos for the bulk of the match. Rae exercised plenty of leeway, recognizing the importance of the outcome. As Shirai and Hojo tussled in the corner, the referee attempted to separate them. As Hojo was backed up, Io ran and dived at her, which took out referee Rae in the process. Hojo gained the upper hand and hit her beautiful "Flying Elbow Drop." She covered Shirai for at least twelve seconds, then attempted to revive the referee. Io rolled to the edge of the apron. She reached out and grabbed the timekeeper's bell hammer. Hojo went drag Shirai back inside the ring and was struck in the back of the head. She dropped like a shot. Io locked in an "Arm Trap Crossface." Hojo was unconscious. The referee roused and began to check Hojo, unaware of the treachery that had occurred before. She signaled for the bell and awarded the tournament to Shirai.
Winner and "Femme Fatales Top Gun" = Io Shirai by TKO in 15:44
"Joshi Mafia" hit the ring in celebration. This brought out Chelsea Diamond and "Stardom Strong" to check on the still unconscious Hojo. Io was presented the tournament trophy and check. She was hoisted on the shoulders of Aja and Awesome Kong and paraded around the ring as Hojo was stretchered to the back.
Miceli: "'Joshi Mafia' steals another victory in a tournament that Kairi Hojo had won."
Santos: "It's yet another miscarriage of justice."
Harlow: "I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Something has to be done about 'Joshi Mafia!'"
Miceli: "Fans, we're all out of time for this week. Please tune into TNT next Thursday for more Show Time Femme Fatales. Don't forget to check out TBS every Tuesday for the Show Time Power Hour. For Melissa Santos and Noel Harlow, I'm Madusa Miceli. Keep on rockin' and rollin'!"
